Episode 14: Henry Olonga’s a thrower, not a shower

About this episode

This is an archival episode from June 5, 2019.

We’ve redefined the concept of a World Cup preview, in that we waited until almost every team has played a game, and some teams have played two, to get started. Hey, if it works for the Indian cricket team at the World Cup, why can’t we do it, too?

First off, a special message to one of our favourite Pradhan Dental Care patients, Virat Kohli: win or lose, your teeth will always be in good hands. But please win.

Did that seem like a shameless sponsor plug? For the record, one of us actually works for PDC. So…yeah, it was a shameless plug.

Anyway, with Pakistan shocking us all, we had to do a take two on our World Cup predictions. And we’re still reeling from the latest shock: Sri Lanka beating Afghanistan. Upset central at the World Cup. We haven’t even gotten to Bangladesh beating South Africa.

And of course, there’s a new version of the fantasy game SP and his Guayana crew came up with for the IPL – where SP finished second after a seesaw battle that went away from only after Delhi lost to Chennai in the second qualifier. He’s still one of the favorites for the World Cup version, where some of the teams that have been picked are…interesting.

Oh, and now an international cricketer knows about our podcast. How’d that happen? Find out on the pod.
