Episode 131 - Child’s Play (35th Anniversary)

The Back To The Blockbuster team is celebrating the 35th anniversary of Child’s Play, directed by Tom Holland from a screenplay he co-wrote with Don Mancini and John Lafia. Starring Catherine Hicks, Alex Vincent, Chris Sarandon and Brad Dourif as Chucky, the plot follows a widowed mother who gives a doll to her son, unaware that the doll is possessed by the soul of a serial killer. In addition to the anniversary, the duo also discusses the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike after 118 days, film delays hitting Marvel, and the not so marvelous box office performance of The Marvels. The team then wraps things up with box office predictions for Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving.
