It started in December when AIM, the Weekend Walleye series, released a statement saying their all-new NEXT series will be postponed until 2027. The National Walleye Tour announced major changes for 2027 and now head-to-head fishing is the next to fall, posting on Facebook the lack of support from the industry and commitment from anglers has made it an uphill climb. We have made the decision to not run head-to-head in 2026 and beyond. It's been a decision that was made easier over the past couple of weeks. The post contained many thank-yous and this statement to all the naysayers and haters who seem to know better than anyone trying to build something for the anglers and fans. The person who has a constant negative attitude about everything related to walleye fishing, the guy who does zero to help grow the industry but will sit behind a keyboard best of luck and we hope you find some positives in your negative world.
