About this episode
Gaius and Jackson are celebrating the 15th anniversary of The Dark Knight, arguably the best comic book film of all time! Directed by Christopher Nolan from a screenplay co-written with his brother Jonathan Nolan, the film is the second installment in The Dark Knight Trilogy and it follows the vigilante Batman, police lieutenant James Gordon, and district attorney Harvey Dent, who form an alliance to dismantle organized crime in Gotham City. Their efforts are derailed by the Joker, an anarchistic mastermind who seeks to test how far Batman will go to save the city from chaos. Starring Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Heath Ledger, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Morgan Freeman, the movie has been assessed as one of the greatest superhero films ever made and became the new blueprint for many moder superhero films because it rejected the typical comic-book movie style in favor of a crime film that features comic-book characters. To help touch on some of these assessments, the duo is joined by Leo, Mike and Kevin of the Films and Fermentation Podcast, Adam from the Flipper Flix Podcast and actor Ty Ippolito.
