About this episode
We are happy to be joined today by primary care physician and soon-to-be member of Brian Lenzkes' DPC in San Diego, Dr. Kristin Baier. Upon being diagnosed with lupus during medical school, Dr. Baier began looking to nutrition for help. Her first experiment was with veganism—no help. She then transitioned into the paleo diet, during which time she found some success and began to lose weight. Finally, having discovered the ketogenic diet, she gave it a try and was able to come off of five different medications, eliminate her chronic headaches, and improve her lupus symptoms. We discuss the benefits of a direct primary care system for providing real quality care to patients.
