Episode 104: Rupture and repair

About this episode

In this episode, we talked about the process of moving from rupture to repair with our children. We emphasise the difference that happens when are are not willing to judge ourselves or pick up the guilt sticks, and not being willing to say things like, “I shouldn’t have done that” or “I’m a naughty mummy” or “what I did was wrong.” We offer ways to take responsibility and apologise without judging ourselves. We share how this helps children when they are needing to repair. We also suggest attachment play that we can use to support the repair process, such as the doing over game and power-reversal games.
