Episode 10 (S2). How do we actively listen to others

About this episode

Three friends that happen to be social workers discuss current social/social work issues from their front room.

Your favourite trio of social workers get together once again to have a conversation about active listening. Listening sounds like quite a simple task but are we actually actively listening?

As a part of their roles as social workers Nadia, Fran and Eugene do a lot of listening to people's stories and perceptions. The reporting of these stories will inevitably involve some level of interpretation. So if they are not actively listening and demonstrating that they are then they'll end up doing their clients a disservice. Sounds tricky right?

In this episode, the trio share their experiences of actively listening to other. What tips they have learnt and what could be the possible pitfalls. Tune in for a fun, engaging and informative discussion!
