Bobby Shmurda is a hip hop artist from New York City who after exploding onto the scene with his hit song 'Hot Boy', him and his GS9 crew were taken down by the cops on a conspiracy charge in December 2014. He sat in jail for 7 years and got freed earlier this year. He has never done a interview since his release until now. He talks with Akademiks about his rise to fame, the moment he got locked up and the aftermath. Bobby explains his current label situation and says that before now there was an attempt to control him on social media and other public places. He breaks down the relationship with Roc Nation and other artists who have shown him love in the past.
