Ep592: Data protection – what’s the next step on from GDPR?
About this episode
Paul Mountford, Chief Executive Officer, Protegrity
May 2023 marked the 5th anniversary of GDPR. Now is the time to take the next step forward in managing data with a global data security framework with common standards. Such a framework would allow secure borderless data flow. But is this a realistic aim? According to UNCTAD 71% of countries have data protection regulations in place and a further 9% have legislation in development. One solution to this multiplicity of regulatory environment could come with greater adoption of pseudoanonymised data. Paul Mountford, CEO of Protegrity explains to Robin Amlôt of IBS Intelligence how this could work.
