Steve was shaken and soon found himself sitting in the back pew of a church when the pastor began to speak directly to Steve with that same message of hope. Steve then untied the gang colors from around his wrists, dropped them to the floor, and surrendered his life to Christ. Steve Skipper went on to pursue his artistic career and become one of the most prolific sports and civil rights painters in the country.
