About this episode
Do you look back at the end of the week or the month and wonder why you're no closer to accomplishing your projects or goals? Or... do you look back at the end of the week or the month and see a clear picture of what you've done to move your projects or goals forward on the path to completion? Maybe you fall somewhere between the two examples. Maybe it's just not a subject you've given any thought. Maybe today is the day to start.
In this coaching segment, Jim Piper talks about using a calendar to schedule your time in order to more effectively work towards your vision and purpose. It's not as simple as filling up time slots all day long. In order to schedule your time to get the right things done, you have to be in control of what goes on your calendar, properly assess what should go on your calendar and evaluate the effectiveness of past events on your calendar.
The process can be as simple or as complicated as you chose to make it but one thing is clear; Happenstance will quietly consume your time, your days, your weeks and your months... if you don't take control.
Jim recommends that leaders read this article published by the Harvard Business Review:
