It was absolutely epic, a scene for the ages. Yesterday, April 1st, four astronauts left Earth and did something no person has done in over a half a century. They are literally flying to the moon. 1:04astronaut Jeremy Hansen, strapped into NASA's Orion capsule atop a 322 foot space launch system rocket at Kennedy Space Center. The first crewed lunar mission since Apollo 17 in 1972, 53 years of waiting ended in a tower of fire and thunder that shook the Florida coastline. But here's what the legacy media isn't telling you. This isn't just a space story. This is a story of power, specifically civilizational power. And by the end of this video, you're going to understand why what just happened at Kennedy Space Center may indeed be the single most important geopolitical event of the century, one that's ushered in a galactic age like we never even imagined. At its farthest point, this crew will travel a quarter of a million miles from Earth, roughly 1500 miles beyond the record set previously by the Apollo 13 crew back in 1970. So think about that, for 56 years, no human being had gone farther from our planet than those three men on that crippled spacecraft, right? Our four astronauts today are shattering that record. They'll spend up to 50 minutes on the far side of the moon, the dark side for you, Pink Floyd fans, the side permanently facing away from Earth with zero radio contact with our planet. They will be more isolated from humanity than any human beings in the entire history of our

3:13species. If something goes wrong during those 50 minutes, there's no communication, there's no rescue, there's no help. They will travel faster than any crewed spacecraft since the Apollo era. Get this, they're going to be hitting speeds of approximately 24,500 miles per hour as they swing around the lunar far side. Now the key here is that these aren't just historical footnotes. These are civilizational milestones, and that's because of what's actually on the horizon, and where that horizon is coming from. The records, the crew, the engineering, as extraordinary as it is, still isn't what makes Artemis too historically significant in its deepest sense. What matters is what comes next and who's racing to get there.

4:26In just a few months, China's Chung-A-7 mission is targeting the exact same lunar destination, the South Pole of the Moon, specifically the rim of Shackleton crater, where NASA is planning to build its permanent Artemis base. Same craters, same water ice deposits, that's could be key, same extraordinarily limited, extraordinarily precious patch of lunar real estate. So why you may ask does the lunar South Pole matter so much here? What's there that has the world's two major superpowers so determined to explore it? Well, in short, it's because that's where, as I noted, the water ice is. Water in space isn't just drinking water, which you have to get is that water in space is rocket fuel. Use split water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen, and you got

5:32propellant. Water ice at the lunar South Pole, when split into hydrogen and oxygen through electrolysis, provides deuterium, a heavy hydrogen isotope that serves as fuel for nuclear fusion reactors currently being developed on Earth. More dramatically, the same solar wind that deposited water ice over many gazillions of years also saturated the moon's surface with something called helium-3. That's the isotope that enables the cleanest, most powerful fusion reaction known to science, producing no radioactive neutron waste at all. We don't have it on Earth because of our magnetic field, which acts like a shield. It blocks the solar wind and thus prevents helium-3 from forming on Earth's surface. So helium-3 only exists in outer space, particularly on the moon. And so here's the key, whoever minds the moon's South Pole first isn't just winning a space race.

6:37They're positioning their civilization to monopolize the fuel source that could power human civilization for literally thousands of years and its limitless. Whoever controls the water ice at the lunar South Pole controls the gas station literally for the entire inner solar system. For missions to Mars, to the asteroid belt, to the outer planets. This is why the Trump administration rolled out a roughly $20 billion moon base concept, and why the language from NASA leadership was so strikingly different from Apollo era rhetoric. This time the stated goal is not, you know, flags and footprints. This time the goal is to stay permanent bases, resource extraction, a sustained human presence on another world. 9:43that is the new political order that's already becoming more and more evident, particularly with the war in Iran and with this Artemis 2 mission and the Chinese counterpart launching in just a couple of months. They are actually rival civilizational projects. So in the one side, you have the United States and what's called the Artemis Accords. That's a growing coalition of over 50 signatory nations built around principles that grew out of the Anglo-American-led international order. So it focuses on transparency, interoperability, peaceful use, and a market-driven framework for space resources. So this is what some are calling cosmic technopopulism. It's centered around the musk Trump synthesis. So SpaceX drives down cost and iterates its startup speed. NASA provides institutional architecture and mission legitimacy. And together, they create a model, very powerful

11:47model, where private enterprise and state power amplify each other in the pursuit of civilizational expansion. On the other side, China and Russia are building the International Lunar Research Station with their own partners, many of them belt and road participants. Under a very different set of norms, its state directed, its sovereignty obsessed, its convinced that technology is not neutral, but a tool of civilizational scent. Xi Jinping's space program isn't a commercial ecosystem. It's a tightly integrated arm of the civilization state, key directly into his national rejuvenation project. Proof that the Chinese system can not only match Western achievements, but surpass them. Good luck on that, by the way, but at least that's the project. Now, the key here is that these two blocks aren't just racing to put hardware in the same craters, okay? They're racing, this is key, they're racing to define the grammar of life beyond earth.

12:54This is what you've got to get. This is the world order, the increasingly cosmic galactic order we're living in now. The US and China are racing to determine what counts as territory in outer space. Who can extract what? How are disputes resolved? You see geopolitics is transforming as we speak into astropolitics. World order is becoming cosmic order or orbital order, and the key question is who is going to define that order? Two civilization states, the United States and China are competing for literal galactic dominance. A competition that goes way beyond anything that geopolitical theorists have thus far envisioned.
