不同於內向者I人與外向者E人，O人（Otrovert）天生缺乏群體歸屬感。幼年時期的O人常表現出幾個特質：喜歡與大人相處、好奇有創造力、人緣好但知己少、最享受獨處、不願參與團體活動、特別體貼謹慎、不受同儕壓力影響，卻難以應對變化。父母若勉強他們融入群體，只會讓孩子更感異常。真正的挑戰在於接納他們的獨特性，而不是將其矯正成「其他人的樣子」。天下雜誌出版《非群是種天賦》
