About this episode
Completing our series of Best Picture winners from the 1970s, we head to 1930s Chicago to discuss THE STING. Kieran B welcomes back Chris G (Rain Man, The Lost Weekend, Silence of the Lambs, Oliver!) and Brendan B (Amadeus, Mutiny on the Bounty, Rocky, Shakespeare in Love) to tackle this Paul Newman and Robert Redford conman buddy flick. The crew discusses the noticeable contrasts of The Sting to the majority of the other Best Picture winners we have covered so far, and the dynamics of Newman and Redford on screen together. We also enthusiastically welcome back Best Picture Cast legend Robert Shaw in his portrayal of heel, Doyle Lonnegan. In addition to The Sting we talk about an all time great Best Picture lineup that included CRIES AND WHISPERS, AMERICAN GRAFFITI, and THE EXORCIST!
One movie left in Season 2 before we rank all of the movies we have covered! Next week we tackle 2011 Best Picture winner THE ARTIST!
