Welcome to the Plant Cunning Podcast. Where we explore a relationship to plants, other people, and the mysteries of nature. Coming to you from the High Allegheny Plateau in Central New York. We are your hosts, AC Stobble, and Isaac Hill. Welcome to another Plant Cunning Podcast episode, and today we have Stormy Grace. Stormy is an astrologer, a teacher, and an author, and we're very excited to have her on the show. So how are you doing Stormy? Yeah, great, super excited to be here, thank you for having me. Yeah, we're excited to have you on the show. You're such an interesting person, and I like to hear about astrology. I love learning things, and I like to hear people's experiences with astrology and in their
journeys. So the first question we usually ask is, what brought you to the plant path or what brought you to the path? So what did Brie, I'm sorry, I'm like, I'm really, okay, I'll add it this way, sometimes it does me a little to get going. Okay, so how did you come to the astrology path? So Stormy, you're a well-known astrologer, especially in this YouTube space. You've done a lot in YouTube and you're a mover and shaker in the astrology world. What brought you to astrology in the first place? How did you get to this path? Yeah, it was actually more of a like, calling back for me, and it started when I was really young, and so I was about six, seven right there at, it was a Saturn transit, but that's not how I was thinking about it at the time, right? But for my mom, she realized that I was seeing and experiencing the world a bit differently
than my brothers were, and then some of the rest of my family. And she took me to my first metaphysical, fair type of thing, you know what I mean? And I went in there, and of course I was like, oh yeah, these are my people. But I didn't know why, but it was a like, I hear knowing instead of a hear-knowing. And I saw the herbs and all of the things in my mom is an amazing plant person, like that thing can be a death's doorstep, and she's like, live, and it just starts living. So I was already used to her having that touch, but that wasn't my realm. And we went to the booth of this lady, an astrologer, and it was, I was watching her hand draw and work a chart, and it was like, I had done it a hundred times. Like I just was very aware, and it wasn't like this overwhelming epiphany, it was nothing like that. I just watched her do what she was doing, and I was like, yep, yeah, that looks right, that looks right. I was having not been exposed, per se, to astrology or anything like that.
But later I also came to know, my mom would tell me that I always had a relationship with the sky and with the earth, like that was just how I navigated things, and seeing all the spirits in between, that was just some extra, you know, on the top. But that's really what it was, it was a calling back for me, and it was so much of a just a calling back that I've never in my life been afraid that I would ever be without a astrology. I never thought, oh my god, this is it, I have to pursue this, I have to go forward with it, you know, it was never like that. And so I was free to be in the realm of astrology, and do it, and move, and have my being, and also to go pursue other things that I knew astrologically, and in my destiny story, I was doing exactly what I needed to do. And at my sadder return is when, I mean, that is when I think like the real magic happened for me, because I had started working at a radio station, and I literally, that was one
of those magical moments. I'm a Virgo rising, and they were talking about relationships, and they were just saying these things that were so low vibration about how to navigate in relationships. So I wasn't like calling to be helpful. I was calling to like tell them what was up, you know, I was not coming from my humble spirit, and they offered me a job, and I became a radio person for a decade, right? And I have no idea at the time that they were training me, or what I was going to do next. I had just no idea about that. And at my sadder return, I walked through the door of this radio station that I had loved with my entire being, and I was like, oh my God, what do you mean? I'm going to leave. I'm going to launch my astrology practice, and on YouTube, at that time I had watched one YouTube video, and it was a Beyonce video, and so I was like unprepared, but I knew it was right.
So for me, it really was a, and I was sad, and I was scared, and I cried my way into my career. It's where I always say that my practice is a practice built on faith, because that is what I had to work and walk with. And I got a really big effort bucket, and I was like, if it, it is in my story, and I know that it is, and I don't know what I'm doing, so I'm going to move forward, right? And that's what it was like, and funny enough, very satirony, and I spent the year wearing black, very like the Venusian, and I follow the colorology and all of these things, and I spent, I wore black almost every day for a year, and walked my way into this space, and then officially, you know, got going, but my studies in between then had been picking up the books of Stephen Forest, and that's where my journey and my first teacher really
came from, and at the time that I was coming into it, Stephen had actually stopped doing his in-person trainings and things like that, where he used to have them in California, so I missed out, missed out on that, which I didn't really have to tell you guys, it's so good, but so my study came from there, and I was about two years into my professional career, and I was tooling around my house, and I heard this big booming opera voice, and I was like, okay, like I'm coming, and I didn't know what that was, it was a voice I'd never heard before, and I found myself into the space of Noel Till, and I had no idea who that was, so I actually met his students first, and particular Kathy Rose, and I said, hey, who's this Noel guy? Like, because he's our yelling at me and stuff, so what's the deal? And I realized that I had already picked up Noel's some of his techniques, and the way that I was
speaking about them, and I had never picked up any of his literature, so it's not like, you know, I don't want to sound all woo and mystical, like that's the way that it came, I was simply awake enough to hear it, and then when I met Kathy, there it was, and she let me see a video of Noel, and he was this big booming opera voice, and I was like, oh, that's the guy who said, come on over here, and I did, and so my practice is a mix of evolutionary astrology, which I say, we look at the soul story, and what you're working on, and working through, paired with humanistic astrology, which is what is your human going to do with it, too? So it's astrology plus strategy, and that is really how it came to be, that was very long, sorry. Oh, that's great. That's awesome. Here for that, and it's, you know, that that satan return, a lot of people will get scared about the satan return, you know, but, and it can be scary, you know, but the big changes and change
is scary. Yeah, but like, I feel like for me, it was also a very important time. I got very serious about certain things, and, you know, and everyone has a different, you know, different experience everyone has a different, their satan is in a different house, and different aspects, and so on, but it can be such a, it's, it can be a door to a fully new, a new life as well. Yeah, the way that I always describe it is that for the first time in our lives that our satan return, we move in our adult spirit, which is like, no matter what we've been through, because some of us have been forced into situations that may just have grown up behaviors well before we were in that grown up age, per se, but none of us have access to our human spirit until we pass the threshold of the satan return, just like we won't have access to our true wisdom seat until we go through the next satanian doors that come. So I think it is the most precious time, because for the
first time in our lives, we move and have our beings as adults, and that is like, wow, that's massive, you know, and it can be scary, depending on to how immature you are, I was kind of, so it was a little bit harder, mine was a little bit harder, but astrology helped, because I was like, oh, I'm at this gate, I'm on time. So do you think that you were studying with Noel in a previous life, or like you just like were sensitive to like receive that spirit in this life? I don't really know, honestly, I thought about that, and when I, and a lot of things, you know, I can kind of reach for and feel those ties that I have never felt one with Noel, like not ever, however, more than once has he come and been like, which I just thought, sir, I don't know you, like can I get some private time? Yeah, wherever it is, there's some kind of conversation that
we have where a piece of me can resonate, you know, with that, and I'm grateful because it brought my practice into when I think it really reached its fullness, you know, when I can use to do so, and I'm very like my style and my own method now is clean and it's beautiful and it's mine, and it's a vision that at my Jupiter return, when I was 12, when I saw myself owning and running and supporting a metaphysical business, and I didn't know I couldn't fully have the full shape of it, I just knew that I always would say, no, it's not going to be in a building at first, it won't be, there's no walls, there's no walls, it's going to be digital. Yeah, wow, that's incredible. Yeah, so along the way, it's like whatever, I think that the whole team that needed to show up to help me do what it is and I'm doing and let it come through me has shown up. Yeah, yeah, and it's also amazing, you know, like getting that training with the radio,
it really did set you up, you know, for the YouTube. Yes. Can you tell us a little bit about what that, you know, what getting into YouTube was like for you and then how you see YouTube? Yeah, absolutely. Well, so I'm a Virgo Rising, but I also have Mercury and Gemini at the mid-heaven and I'm a 22 degree, like my mid-heaven is 29 tourists, so I love that because I knew that this lifetime I was never going to have to invent anything cool. I was like, oh, I don't have to recreate anything, I'm so grateful, but I knew that I was going to be doing a lot of talking and I always have done a lot of talking, like I am that person who has had excessive talking even through college, you know what I mean, they were like, girl, you talk so much, what? And along the way I picked up other languages and it was just come and they still just come to me very easily, so it was no wonder at the time that I fell into radio and I literally fell into radio. I was thinking, okay, I know I'm supposed to be a doctor, that seems to be in the story when I say doctor that resonates, right? So I was trying to go to the medical route, which is
so funny because I'm like, I don't want to be touching on people. I don't want none of that, it's my room, but I was like, maybe this is my own, you know, whatever. And so I fell into radio, fell in love, fell in love with every area of it and I realized when I went back that the training that they had me going through then really was setting me up for YouTube to speak and to be able to present, take something that is we would have spots, commercials and they'd give you two pages of script and they're like, um, work that down into 30 seconds, right? And I became really proficient at it and I also did audiobooks and other commercials and things like that. So I naturally kind of had those pieces of my chart honed and really trained. And then as I came into YouTube, I didn't know how to YouTube, right? I wasn't sure what this was, the platform, any of these things, and I kept going to watch as many as there were at the time, right? Because this is like 2012,
right? So I was trying to watch women who were like my age at that time do it and I could not get my channel to set up. I was like, this seems completely overwhelming. And so I was like, I need help. Wasn't whoever's the lifeguard on duty today up there? I need some help. And I ended up watching the YouTube channel of this little 13-year-old boy with his squeaky little changing voice. And he had these terrible back and his terrible background. And it was like, I was 13. You know what I mean? And he helped me set up my channel. So every day, I would watch a little bit of what he was saying and I would work on my YouTube channel for 10 minutes. And if I did 10 minutes every day, I got full credit. And so slowly, but surely I learned how to first of all build the channel from the back. And then I just used the gift of speaking. And I had all of my earlier videos are like a picture slapped up there. And then I'm talking because I came from radio. I was like, well,
I know I know how to talk. And I did like um, some sign compatibility. It was cute. And I started to gain a little following. And then somebody said, one day, hey, you know, this is YouTube, we should be able to see you because faceless channels were not hot then. I think right now it's like, oh, and so then I had to watch somebody and I dedicated 10 minutes a day to learning how do I set up the video? What do I do? How do I do all that? And that is how it got going. And I just committed to putting up content and kind of feeling my way through what to do. And I fell in love with YouTube because the other side of me is very business oriented. I was like, well, now wait a minute, this is financially free marketing. Fantastic. Like this is doing a lot. Yeah. One piece of content and let it work really hard for you and help people along the way. Wow. So that's how it,
how it went. That's how it started. And then continued on to grow. Yeah. We also started with just audio as a podcast for PlankCunning. And then eventually it occurred to us that we could just record the videos also on YouTube. It's like, oh yeah, we should be doing that. It's wild that it doesn't like, you know, I mean, unless you're thinking about it, it's always like come. I think because you know, you're you're at the background of radio and we're like, well, we're starting a podcast and like we'd listen to podcasts ourselves. And so in our brains, it's just like it's a listening thing, not a watching thing. But YouTube is amazing and it is for watching. So yeah. And the rise of the faceless channel is here, but I don't suspect that they're, you know, I'll take YouTube trainings because I like YouTube. I think this channel is just in general, don't do as well. Yeah. It makes a lot of sense, particularly I think right now. Yeah.
Yeah, so much AI. And what I've always found was really useful for me with YouTube is that people could see my eyes, my presence. They could be connected with me as a human. Right. And that is it, is a game changer. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. People crave that real human connection, especially with the increase in AI everywhere. It's like we want real people vulnerability, you know, like connection. Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. And it's like, oh my god, the journey on YouTube has just been a ride really. Yeah. I win through cycles of being a human being like growing up in public on camera. You know, I weighed more. I weighed less. I didn't have a husband. Another husband. And then, you know, I mean, like, look, and I did it all just out here in public. All of the hair styles, you know, for sure. You know, there were some seasons of makeup. I find regrettable in those
right, viewed videos, of course. Of course. For my yard. So there's some like in the YouTube sphere now as they teach people to YouTube and what it's about, not just the technical side, but learning to live with their cycles of light while they're also producing content or sharing their message. I have a tracker group to share with people to be like, no, no, no, go back to the early stuff. Go back to the early stuff. YouTube can be a YouTuber. Yeah. It can be very daunting, though. Yeah. Especially now when there's so many channels, there's so many, so much competition, but there's also so many people who are watching. It's a little bit of a different space in than 2012 as well. Like, how have you seen that the YouTube astrology world change over that time period? Yeah. Well, one, there's just, there's more of us, you know, in general, that's a big thing is that there are more of us. So that obviously offers more space and more variety and more astrology.
Right? And there has been a rise, I think, of the sensationalism. Yeah. Astrology. But I also don't get to, I don't go too crazy with that because some of these things too, I can see in the astrology, you know, depending on where people are in their cycle of living and dying, some seasons are more sensational and you have it in you and you can put that out there and you can produce content like that. And other seasons are not. And you're kind of going to get gravitating to you, the people you need to be helping at that particular time. But that is definitely something that's different. The other thing that I think is different is YouTube used to be an option. And I don't know if it's so much of an option anymore. You know what I mean? Today, it's like more for credibility as well. Like, people want to see you, they want to know that who you are, something about you because if I'm going to come and I'm going to talk about my heart and my life with you, I want to know who you are. Yeah. So businesses
that are weren't are also now starting to find their space into the digital revolution, where we're going to do new business in addition to having physical spaces. Yeah. Yeah. So to go back to, you know, how you'd practice astrology and your teachers, Stephen Forrest, I haven't really studied much of Stephen Forrests, but I appreciate what I do know about him. When you look at a chart, like, what are you looking at? Like, what are you bringing into into your reading? So because Stephen comes from evolutionary and evolutionary has its set path that it goes through, typically some of the first things in evolutionary in general that we're looking at as the nodal story. So you can see the story of what was the past like, what's the current life for? What are the default positions that we like to take that are comfortable versus the ones we need to grow into? And also what is the plutonian story in the chart? Because that's going to tell us quite a bit, you know, but from the more humanistic side, there's a space of what can you see first?
Let's just take a look at what you can see first. You know, where are the planets on the chart? Is there preponderance to the west, to the east? What does that tell us? But for me, these are the two techniques that I brought together and weaved them. And in my own technique, the very first thing I do when I look at a chart is look at what is the shape of light of that chart. I look through the needle lunar phase of that chart. You know, we say in yoga namaste, the light in me season honors the light in you. And it's like, well, how much light do you emit? And what comes with the story of that much light? So let's understand how much light you have. And then what does that mean? How does that show up? How does that shape the journey? And for me, that really came from sitting with enough people and realizing that more than anything, I want to practice the kind of astrology that allows people grace. First of all, grace with themselves, but then through understanding different
shapes of light, grace with each other. Right? So I always start in the needle lunar phase and then I work my way out on there and the rest of the chart, primarily looking out, okay, well, what's the soul story here? What's the destiny story? Because that we can get a lot knowing the shape of your light of the soul story. I can have a whole conversation with you about what you that going on. Yeah. Yeah. So when you're looking at the moon phase, so like in Vedic astrology, we have tithes, which are like each 15 days of waxing and 15 days waning. And each, each phase, each day has a kind of a specific thing. It's ruled by a specific planet. But it is one aspect of like the calendar. But so when you're looking at the moon phase, are you looking at it like each phase has a specific meaning? Or are you looking at just like how much light and how little light, like what are you looking at with the moon phase? So I break it into the eight phase
breakdown. Okay. Do I mean, there's a lot of different ways you can chop the moon over turns out, but I'm just going to eat. And so that's what I'm looking at is, yeah, first of all, how much light is actually available at the time you were born. And then what are some common significations that come with that, you know, for your own internal default kind of temperaments, but also how to care for yourself, you know, for example, if somebody was born during a new mood time where the luminaries are together, so absolutely anything is possible. One of the things I'm going to know right there, first of all, is that this person is probably highly intuitive because that's how they have to move. You have to, you know, you're you pray to God that you're really planting cucumbers. And they're going to come up as cucumbers, you know, like it's kind of moving in the dark. There's a bit of fog there, but there's an intuitive sense of what I should be doing, what I should be planting, how I should be moving, but it doesn't come until I take these baby faithful intuitive steps. So knowing that shape of light for a person in some of these internal defaults, when we talk about how does the shape your world has the shape your temperament and how
you move through the world. It really brings a different conversation to the table with new moon people. I absolutely love it. In their care plan, I am going to ask them to be paying attention to how structured they are. I'm like, maybe let some of that structure go. That's not really necessarily going to feel right to your insides. Love for some wandering, but allow your wandering to be moving forward. And I always ask new moon people, how's your patience because they know and they know they know and they know that they know that they know but they don't know when. So this right here can be a hangout and patience is not necessarily the virtue of a new one person. So when they're out of whack on the inside, it's a great way to check in and say, am I in balance with my own energy? I'm like, how's your patience these days? And you know, they're like what patience? I'm like, yeah, yeah, for sure. You know, but also other things in the journey of saying to them, it's going to be important that in some way, shape or form, you get the light to shine on you
in this lifetime. And many, many, many times new moon people have shied away from doing that because they're like, it feels really selfish and I'm like, oh, it is on with yourself. It's important that you do that. And it sounds cool, but it can sometimes be the difference between helping a person step fully into the rest of the chart or work with old ideas that are not actually serving them anymore. You know, if that makes little sense. Yeah. So what do you do for like a she's yeah, for sure. Well, we're going to start to have a conversation about what's happening in in the light. Anyways, we've got to listen to this. So on the insides of full moon person right away, I'm going to say, okay, first of all, grace with yourself. It's natural for you to be going, is it this? Is it that? Should I do this? Should I do that? Should I go this way? Should I go this way? That's normal. That would not be normal for a new moon person. I'd be like, wait, we need to have a different conversation. But to first of all, give a full moon or grace. You're made like that. Cool.
Enjoy that. But now how do we work with it? One thing is going to be the goal for a full moon person in this life is going to be to find what's mine in the middle of these two things. The full forming of your own identity. But the way to do that is integration. I have to pull all the ideas into the middle and then make them mine. This is going to be really important. And relationships are key to being able to do that. Having the push and pull in relationships is really important. I will just say this too for full moon people. I also really ask them to get rid of the word purpose. I'm like, oh, you don't need a purpose. Everything has a purpose. Listen, you'll be here all day trying to figure out the purpose. Right? We need integration. So I give them the word goal. What's the goal? What are you trying to get to in all of that? Because if you can see the goal that you want to get to naturally stop pulling the the opposition and you'll have to pull it together to get to the goal. And that what that does even to the semantic experience
is relax the system. Right? So things like that are things I would say to full moon people. And I'm going to also remind them you are in a lifetime this time where you are on awake, aware and conscious. So you have to be choosy with what it is that you're doing because you're not coming from a sleepy space. Yeah. That all resonates a lot. Yeah. Oh, good. Yes. So what about you? What's your moon face? I'm a gibbous face person. And so I call us the Y babies because I just if there is a question mark to be put someplace. Okay. People are doing it. We're doing it. We're like, yeah, but why? How? How does it work? Because in the early give us energy, you know, before the moon becomes full, we're refining. We're refining. So we're very analytical. If you think about it, it's family being a Virgo. Honestly, it's what the energy is like we want the details in the particulars because the normal goal for a gibbous person is a need to have lived
a life that really had value. That is the deal. But the way to do that is that I refine and I perfect the techniques. I experience mentorship. Right? These kinds of things that are in there. Any early gibbous people who are listening, a big thing that comes up is how important relationships are for this particular place as well. Much more than for the full mooners because the gibbous people need the problems that come in relationships because you can't refine your techniques. If you're the only one using them, you have to have a mirror to refine with. And where this gets a bit more serious, I think, is that oftentimes people come to my table and it's the difference between somebody coming and saying, I just think I'm never supposed to be in a relationship. I think it's never going to work out for me. I'm one of those people and it's a heart level cry and a misunderstanding. And when we can reframe and go back through the challenge and those relationships that they've had
and we go, well, now wait a minute, but what did you learn? What did you bring to the table? How did you practice? How did you do that? This reframes everything. And it's so cool to see these people get some relief and move forward with a lot more clarity. All of the phases have this too. How major ways that we save ourselves from ourselves by different understanding. So when you're introducing this idea of light and looking at the light in the chart, are you mostly looking at the moon or do other planets play in houses and things like that? Just the dance at first. At first, it's like being dip. We had a layer of this thing, but at first it's just the dance between the sun and the moon. What's your light story? I want to know that first and then we can bring in the characteristics of the sign and the house and all of these things into the story later. But the other reason that this works I think so well is kind of along the lines of harmonics because it's just
the shape of light. It just vibrates like this no matter where it's at. So let's talk about this and then we'll layer up how you do it. Okay, this is the cutest thing. Whoever's little legs are sticking out are the best. That's Percy. Yeah. This fan, Percy. Big fan. So cute. That's the best. A little dog. So then the other main technique you're doing though is this is looking at the nodes. And I love the nodes. I'm a I'm a I'm a node guy. In Vedic astrology, we use them a little like we're looking at past life. We're looking more at the op macarca, which is the highest degree planet. And when you look at, you know, there's a different technique, but I see the different astrological systems kind of as languages, you know, and you can kind of see talk about similar things and but in different ways. But so, so for for the evolutionary astrology, looking at the nodes, how are you seeing those nodes? What are the nodes telling you?
So looking to the self-node story is where I'm going to start first because it's one that's likely going to be a lot more familiar. And the self-node in the sense of the reincarnationist view is that this is the story that you've already lived this life. So you know this story very, very well. It's comfortable. You've done it, right? So there's great things about it. There's skill. There's everything that you learned from doing this particular lifetime with these characteristics, which are the sign. Okay, cool. They're not going to be what's really hard for you, likely. The north node side though, where we're trying to grow towards is something that's not as well developed. So we need a practice going more this way. And I like too that we can take it out of the reincarnationist idea and just say, okay, here are some default behaviors, beliefs, attitudes, and actions you may have. And we're actually trying to take some of the opposite ones and see what we can't get. And ultimately though, we want them to come into
integration, right? So even in the soul story of developing this time, it's like any other opposition. I'm going to be looking at how do we first of all develop a little bit more strength, particularly depending on the age or the degree of your nodal story. And then how do we get them into an interconnected goal in the middle so that you can do what it is that you need to do. Right? And it's really cool to see those, those dance along together. Because like my south node is in Capricorn, right? I swear to God, if you ask me, ask me to take something and make it make money or turn it into a business in a heartbeat, I'll do it. I don't know. I'm like, I'm sorry about it, right? I'm like, oh, this is nuts, right? It's probably why I genuinely love business. Like I don't like like business. Like I love it. Like in a weird, let's have tea and talk about this all afternoon kind of way, right? And it's very Capricornian. I'm like, nope, you just need to put a structure around it, put a structure around it. But the structure doesn't always allow
for my north node in cancer. There's like, yeah, but what about the be leagues that go around it? And I can tell you that there was certainly a section of my life where I'm like, well, I don't know why you just do something about it. Where are you crying? You know, and that's a very gentle example of what that has looked like. But certainly then being able to bridge them together, which at this point in my life, I feel like I've never done this fully as I have in the last five years, which is I teach business to creative, feeling people. Perfect. Show them how to write. And in my home, my husband and I were both 43 right now. And we're doing the heroes and the heroines journey and getting back into these stories of bridging those gaps as well. I understand these things. So when I'm looking at that, that's kind of what I'm looking at. I'm like, what are your, what are your kind of default things that you're doing over here? Okay. But so you're looking at the sign of the nodes in and then like where, where,
where it is in that sign. Are you using mean nodes or like, like, what, what, because that's another thing. It's like, we always use the, the, the, it's always, the nodes are always retrograde for us. Yeah, me too. Okay. Cool. Yeah. It makes sense to me because like, the moon and the sun are always, they're never retrograde, right? So the nodes, they're always retrograde. Yeah. And I think it from the position of, it's, they're always retrograde because it's an inside job. This is, this is your gig. When people are like, that sounds like a new thing. I'm like, cold, they're talking to your nodes. Yeah. Yeah. So the retrograde makes sense to me. I just, I don't know. Maybe it'll come along, but I've never been able to be on board with the nodes not being retrograde. But that could be, you know, in my own story. Well, I mean, it just makes sense from a structural perspective, you know, in a symbolic perspective. Yeah. Which, astrology is symbolic language. It's, it's like, it makes it, has to make sense on
that level. Yeah. But I could also see like, in somebody else's language, them, you know, using it in a different way. But so you're looking at the sign and then, so how far along the node is, what does that tell you? Yeah. So the way that I look at it, like, because the nodes move backwards. So if somebody's got a node that's at 29, 28 degrees of a particular sign, I'm like, okay, you're pretty new because they move in a retrograde fashion. As opposed to if somebody's got, you know, a node that's at one or two degrees, I'm like, you're pretty well advanced. Let's see how we can work this. And sometimes that's really sometimes that's all people need is to understand that they've had some like access to skill that they didn't realize that they could just go ahead and unlock, you know what I mean? So it's really kind of interesting and other times where I feel like that is really useful. So if somebody does have that like 29 to 25 right in there and that degree point, sometimes they're kind of floundering around like, I don't get it, you know, and certainly
at 28 29, I'm like, yeah, well, you're like a new, whatever that sign is. So you're just kind of figuring out how to do this in general. So that's okay. So it allows for some grace. Yeah. Yeah. And then are you looking at what house the nodes are in and what planets are? Okay. Yeah, absolutely. Okay. Well, what does that, so what does that tell you? Yeah. So from there, I'm going to look at certainly what is it the node? What sign is it in? Because these are the characteristics that you're likely going to be getting things done with or playing that story out. And then the house, what area of life has this been coming through for you or are you trying to grow into it? You know, having a north mode in the 11th house, I'm like, whether you want to go out here and be with people or not, something about your life story needs to unfold in a grouping space, right? In some way, shape or form as opposed to just that north or that south node in the pit house that you're like, I'll do it myself, right? And it's like, nope, we need to actually bring that out to a more
public space. And as the other planets come in are in engagement with that node, seeing if we have some helpers, which the helpers can be squares as much as they can be sexiles or trying. Sometimes a trying to your node is the most lazy aspect in your life. You know what I mean? Because it's easy, you don't have to think about it. You're like, yeah, whatever. So sometimes we don't activate that. As opposed to getting a square to your node, it makes you engage and you go, I got to do something or the pressure of this behavior or this experience is going to crush me. So depending on what the aspects are that are in conversation, we can start to see first of all, how are you moving with it and then what's the strategy of how you can move with it in order to get these lessons to unfold. Cool. That's very fun. I think so. Yeah. Yeah. So bring in the aspects.
So we'll get to that in a second. But generally, you're looking at the light in the chart and then you're looking at the nodes and then you're going to look at the ascendant and all those kind of things after that. Yeah, we're going to sew really the path that I take is that I look at the needle lunar phase. And then I'm also going to consider the progressed lunar phase as well to see what season of life a person is in because just because you were born in a full moon time, your life itself may not be in a full moon season. You might be someplace else. Maybe you're in winter, maybe you're in the balsamic time. So the things were required of your life at that time. You're going to have all the same transits, but the way you go about them may need to be different. So these are things that I consider even on the first time we're doing a needle reading into the chart because also understanding where that progressed season is for someone helps me set a consultation space and a speed that is right for them. You know, the person who comes in and they
are in a progressed first quarter time, we're going to have a faster session because they're ready. They're on and they want to know what they should be doing. They're going to be like, yeah, what do I do? What do I do? Okay, we're going to do the right, but the person who comes to me and even if they are 18, it's not about being in your 40s. It's they're 18, but they're coming to me in a balsamic time. We need to be a little bit slower, a little bit more tender. What's happening because they're literally losing a version of themselves. They're moving through grief and gratitude. So that's going to help me set up a different kind of consultation to even understand the season. But then when we do come back into the chart, I've looked at the light, I've looked at the nodal story, and then I'm going to do any other preponderance that presents itself first, looking at what you can see because listen, I don't care what you're sending in. If you have like 16 planets over here in the 7th house, we need to talk about that. Yeah, look, there's a very clear message happening here, but then it would be traditional planet breakdown, sun moon rising,
moving through the rest of the chart, having a examination. So you kind of allow something to jump out at you, you're like, oh, I'm noticing there's a ton of planets in the 7th house. So you you sort of yeah, in the bigger with a broader picture. Yeah, absolutely, because I'm like, yeah, sometimes the chart is just wonderfully specific. It's like we would like to talk about Bob's daily work habits with the rest of his life. Let's talk about it here, you know, so yeah, being specific and seeing that is really great. Do you do you find some people come to you with an incorrect or seemingly incorrect birth time? And do you have ways of like rectifying that, you know, like yeah, we definitely have chart rectification and we go back through different events and things that have happened in the life so that we can get it down usually to the minute. Something is going on and I'm not to the minute, proficient, I can get you pretty close, but I still a skill I'm
learning to get that close in timing with, but my god, our rectification specialists, they are amazing because there's a lot of the world that didn't keep birth time. Right. So this became a delicious and desirable and necessary skill for sure, but I don't often get a lot of people who come and say I have the wrong time, but that's also I think too because by the time people are coming to me, I'm pretty specific with what I asked them to bring so that we can have a successful session. Right. I mean, if you tell me that you were born at E30, but then you come to your session and you say I was actually born at E37, what you need to understand is the chart changes every four minutes. So we want to have a successful session. So here's the chart. Double check your info. And then we'll go from there. So in that way, it's practically and earthy as I can. Yeah. You know, try to help us have the right things. Right. Yeah. But you're looking at the
progressed moon as one of the main things too early on. And I think that's so important to have a timing technique because we, you know, in the Vedic astrology, we're looking at Dasha's for primarily, but there's there's got to be some timing technique if, you know, to see what's how the chart is has moved and changed since they're born. Yeah. It's in their end. Yeah. Absolutely. Well, and like just the seasons and in of themselves, I mean, I've seen people come and they're coming to me in what I call winter. I call the last quarter to progress last quarter and then progress both on my times the winter seasons early and deep winter is the way that I identify them. And I'll have people coming with me and they're still trying to live their summertime energy at winter and winter and life don't enjoy being pushed on. So typically what happens are several things. When a person comes to me and they're like, I have never been depressed in my life. And I'm really, I think I've developed depression or I'm hurt. I'm sick and I can't seem to get
well. I've gotten injured. These kinds of things. And so we start having the conversation about winter. Hold on. It's not to say you're not depressed. On stormy is not your medical doctor. Please go see your medical doctor. However, let's talk about what I've seen. And that is that the last quarter of time as you enter winter, we begin the descent. And if you don't know that you're there and it's such a record scratch for some people to just not have the energy, not be who they thought they were before, it's scary because it's also the first time we begin to consciously participate in our own death. And in the West, we don't talk about that. So it becomes this next layer of scary. And it's like, it doesn't need to be. But humans are amazing. We get multiple lives in one lifetime and we consciously participate in dying off to them. So let's talk about that. I'm not saying you don't have depression, but you know, dying is a bit deathy.
Right. Things go. Yeah. Yeah. What's causing this experience to manifest at this moment? Yeah. That's such a, yeah, astrology is such an amazing tool for navigating these big transitions and, you know, the harder parts of being human. Yeah, it's, they're rich. They're so rich because in the winter time, in particular, what I see is I, we have this conversation about how slow things need to be and how we need to give yourself permission to take more naps and stuff. And this little, depending on the person, really bring up those stories from childhood. Real, I am not allowed to risk. I am not valuable. If I am not productive, I don't want to age. I'm afraid I'm going to get fat. I mean, the things that come out are the deep human truths. And if we resist, the universe is going to get us in a position to do the season, whether we like it or not, and a punishment that's just,
you know, the universe is happy to lead those that would like to walk, drag those that don't, all options available. It's hard. Sometimes getting dragged is a little bit easier, I guess. Seasons can be like that. But to give people a space to let even their richness unfold for them. And as an astrologer, where I think I'm always so honored about it is when people aren't in winter, then I'm like, I'm just here to bolt the flashlight and point out some things and you say things. I'm just here to walk with you. I'm just shining the light. We're going to walk nice and slow. Thanks. And we get our summertime people. And I'm like, let me get my roller skates. Yeah. I'll pour you a glass of lemonade. That's right. I'm here with the hydration pack. Yeah. Yeah. Cool. So, um, the other, we haven't even really talked about aspects yet. But you're
coming out with a new book, um, this spring all about, yeah, about aspects. So, um, why, why this book on aspects? What, what, what is it about aspects? Yeah. Well, because the main portion of my technique and everything that I use is to first give grace, but it's also to help people become what I've trademarked as astro fluent, right? I'm like, I want you to be able to speak, read and write the language of astrology. If that's what you want, but at least be able to speak it into your life, right? And because I came from language learning and spending a lot of time in language academies and stuff like that, I realized that being able to string a conversation together is the hardest part. Like, we can read it. We can typically write it. And then it comes to actually getting it out of our mouths or finding the words that even live in our bodies to give our astrology, um, sentence structure. It's sometimes a card. And I thought, I want to leave a book
that if the internet went down, somebody could pick up and start to have the conversation, get into the sentence a little bit. You know, my most recent language learning has been Korean, which I love. And it's so funny because I just remember picking up this book and that's really what it was. It was intro ways to get into conversations. Like, you know, when you're weird and you're like, having a people and hoping it's going to work out, I couldn't see other students, even students from really strong teachers coming and they knew their stuff, but they couldn't get into the conversation. And so I was like, ah, I want to write a book that is not enjoyed by ChatGPT. Thank you. Out of lived experience of sitting in people's charts, sitting through events in the world, researching events in the world, and saying, here, into the conversation this way. Yeah. Yeah, that does seem to be one of the hardest parts is it's like the interpretation as well,
like string together this interpretation. Because you can see the individual things. You can say high in Spanish, well, no thanks, but you can't have that conversation. And so aspects for you is what ties the chart together. Yeah, it's where we're having all of the conversation and begin to come around. So you're literally speaking the language then and able to put sentiment and word structure behind it. And the aspects are just what's the conversation happening in the chart. Yeah. It's that. And it's not about an outcome. For me, out aspects are not about an outcome because somebody could have what's considered to be a very challenging, traditionally aspect in their chart and they are living their best lives, right? I have a Mars Moon Pluto conjunction and people are like, traditionally, this is an absolutely violent combination. I'm like, from whom? Not for me. Yeah. Oh, my gosh, like, it's just not there. That's not the expression of that. So I wanted to
take out the outcomes, but just give some examples of the way the conversation might be flowing. Is it light? Is there moisture in this conversation? And then how is that show? Yeah, I think that's very helpful in a good way of seeing the chart because it is like planets having conversations together with each other through those aspects. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. So when you're looking at aspects, what are aspects are you using? Because I know, like, for me, studying traditional Western astrology, I mainly only using trines, squares, oppositions, conjunctions, you know, I'm not really getting into the cessque anything. But I know that people find those very useful too. And then also in like beta-constrology, aspects are very different as well. Like, there's like each, each planet has its own kind of aspect. They're all whole sign house base.
You know, this is a different thing. But yeah, so for you, what, what, what aspects are you using? Yeah. So the major, the major ones we've got conjunction squares, trines, opposition, sex tiles, but I also incorporate the quenckonks or the incongruent because I think that that is, I just think it's an important aspect because you can't really do a lot about it until you learn to integrate it. So in the book as well, I did all of the pairings that come through all of these aspects to planets and to the nodes and to the angles of the chart as well. So that you get a sense of how that conversation is working out. Listen, I'm over here trying to have conversations with people about their real lives. And I promise you that when I geek out and get into the cessque squadrons, it's with other astrologers. Not a single one of my clients care about that cessque squadron. She would like to know how long this is going to hurt for. Yeah. She can do to make it not her. Right. But when I listen, but then we want to talk about the like semi square that happened,
that is for an astrology conference. And we can just go down that rabbit hole till we're all blind, not in a session. Yeah, noted. Yeah, that's that's how I kind of see that as well as well. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. So with the book, how are you how are you bringing people into that conversation with aspects? Like what is the what is the structure of the book, I guess? Yeah, it's so funny because I am a tourist. So I kind of just like clean, beautiful and simple, right? I wanted to write this book. There's a version of me that wanted to write this book that was just going to like grab your by your heart. And I was like, what if I just laid it out by like every planet in every aspect? I give a beautiful intro in the beginning because too, not everybody is going to jump into someone's astrology academy. They only ever learn the astrology in a book. Yeah. So there's an introduction to some things that they're going to want to have on their table already. They probably do, if they're picking up this
book. And some ways I give language to what these planets mean, what is a retrograde planet mean? And then how will we speak about that when we bring the aspects in as well? I give questions to consider. And then you get 300 and I believe 38 pages of planet to planet conversations from needle to transit to needle conversations. To include some of the ones I have to say is really wild to wrestle with some of these outer planet aspects. Some are in there, some are not. And that was based on the fact that as I've got to the end of publishing it, almost I was like, oh my gosh, there are so many countries or businesses that are going to have these aspects. But then also we as humans are starting to live longer. So it may not be very long that someone is able to experience this aspect that I'd like not put in the book. And then I'm like,
tear it all down. We have to rewrite. And they're like, absolutely not. There's 330 pages we're publishing it, you know? Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, the outer planets, they move so slowly. It really it's it's on a different different like level of movement. But they all, I mean, I whenever whenever whenever I do work with the outer planets, I am kind of more seeing them kind of like thick stars, you know? But you know, they move a little bit faster. Me too, but in writing it, this is one of the things where I just kind of had a bit of an awakening that I was like, gosh, there was a time in the world where particularly women weren't really living past the age of 35. So there are a whole bunch of transits we never needed to talk about. Right? I've never needed to consider it. And this is just in people like institutions we know can live on longer. But really wrestling with the idea that with people, I'm like, gosh, we cut people on this planet
who are regularly having a year on us return. Like that's not entirely new now. Right? So how much longer is it going to be before it's like, oh, we haven't been studying these particular aspects. So in don't worry, there's going to be another book because I'm going to crisis about this holding next to the next book. Right? But going, okay, we'll wait. We actually only have a few examples in history of some of these things in people. So we need to go back. And I'm excited about the next round of research because what does it look like to go to Asia and talk to, you know, Omani who is 116 years old. Right? And then come back and write about that. I'm like, wow. So some of this was the acknowledgement that we also live longer. And where we're at now, how much longer will we live? Right. Yeah. Wow. What a thing. Yeah, that is
exciting to do that research. You know, it's fun to find new things and to just, yeah, that's one of my favorite things about astrology too is doing the research. Yeah. Oh, absolutely. See what's been going on. Yeah, you're like, like unravelling these mysteries. Yeah. So the book is laid out like that. It's very easy. It was meant to be pulling off the shelf, goes along with you no matter where you're at. And your study, pull it down, open it up. You want to know, you know, what does the transiting Sun Square ear mercury looks like? Because we're not going to have that in an anal chart that aspect can't exist. But when it's in transit, what does that mean? What does that look like? Right. And not have it be coming from a space that was generated by AI. Like, it's just as it was several years of sitting down and going, what's the preponderance of when I talked about this in a client session or what I've seen having just put into a book. That's awesome.
Yeah. I mean, Paul love that. That's what we need. Like, real astrologers writing real books about their experiences and their research, rather than AI, just like, and this not even really AI, it's LLMs. They're not, they're not really it. They're just regurgitating stuff. Right. And I'm sure one day some piece of AI is going to like, you know, regurgitate my own words to me. And I just hope that they cite me. That would be great. That's, I mean, we're not asking for that from that much. Like, just cite the sources. You know, you're getting it from somewhere robot. Like, just tell us where. Yeah. Yeah. So, um, how it's been lovely having you on the show. Uh, this has been awesome. And how can people find out more about you? Uh, get, get your book, uh, get your classes. Watch your, what's your YouTube? Yeah. Well, definitely coming over to the website is stormygrace.com is always an amazing option because pretty much everything that I'm about is over there. But I do spend a lot of time
on YouTube, just at Stormy Grace City, you can come there and, um, below the video, there's always a link to the books, to classes, to all the things, but you can just get, you can get the book anywhere. The well in Amazon, any of these spaces where books are being sold, it's, it's available and it'll officially launch out in May of 2026, but it's order for pre-sell right now. It's beautiful. It might just hope that you love it and it remains humane and embodied and practical for you to speak with it. Hmm. That's awesome. Congratulations. Yeah. Yeah. Thanks. A lot of work. Books are a lot of work. Yeah, definitely. Yeah. It's a whole thing. Thank you, though. Yeah. And thank you again for being here. This has been so fantastic. Yeah. Thank you guys for having me. It's amazing. Cheers to the rest of the day. Okay. Okay.
