Ep. 2019:27 - L.A. Rams begin free agency with a splash

Derek Ciapala and Michael Stewart look at the Los Angeles Rams’ free agency plans now that Eric Weddle and Dante Fowler Jr. is in the fold. They break down both signings and how they affect the salary cap. Then they pick up where they left off with the available free agents out there, and where they believe the Rams will look next.

First, Derek and Mike take a deep look at the impact Weddle will make on the roster. How will he fit in with John Johnson, Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters? How will his contract help or hurt the Rams? Will he keep his Pro Bowl form in his mid-30s? The guys also compare his impact with the departing Lamarcus Joyner.

The second segment kicks off with Derek and Mike picking up where they left off a couple weeks ago with the prospective free agents. Weddle and Fowler’s signings gives them a little more guidance, and they look at options on the defensive and offensive line, as well as linebacker.

Finally, the guys comment on the impact Antonio Brown’s trade to the Raiders will make on the NFL.
