Ep. 146 Current State of Agriculture feat. William Lea

We are joined today by our great friend and return guest William Lea. William has studied agriculture for most of his life even earning a masters in it. He ran his own farming operation, taught Ag in schools, and now sells crop insurance. Needless to say he's got experience in the field, and we take a hard look at the year 2024 and whats to come. Commodity prices are awful, and costs are still high. Yields will hopefully be good but regardless this year is going to be bad for some. We discuss the stresses, how some are in denial, why the markets are so bad (China, election year, oversupply), is it worth it, and more. We dont leave you with all doom and gloom though. We end it by talking about ways to come out of this alive as well as the benefits of surviving years like this!
