Ep. 101: House on Haunted Hill (1959) or ‘Emergo-Pod’

Zach welcomes back the lovely likes of Cev Moore (Podcaster, ‘Talking Pictures TV’, ‘House of Hammer’, ‘Here Lies Amicus’) and Aesome Steve Noble (Podcaster, ‘Talking Pictures TV’) to spend the night with him in a rather sinister abode for the promise of $10,000 dollars for surviving the night. That’s right, this week the boys return to the King Of Ballyhoo, William Castle, and his 1959 masterstroke, HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL!

You’re all invited to this pod-party (It was all Carol Ohmarts idea) where the boys will dive into the story of the film’s formation, learn a bit more about Castle’s elaborate EMERGO gimmick, dive deep into a sinister and at times silly plot, marvel at the super powered anxiety in Elisha Cook Jr.’s performance, and then emerge from the house with the many lessons in which House on Haunted Hill has shaped the movie going and movie making landscape to the day.
