Entering a New Season Rooted in God
About this episode
A tree stays green and fruitful through drought not because conditions are favorable, but because its roots tap into a water source that does not depend on the weather. That image is precisely what trust in God looks like in a demanding season.
Feeling scattered is often a sign that our attention has been pulled toward too many competing demands before we secure the foundation. God's invitation at the start of any new season is to root first, then build.
The house that looked dilapidated and uncertain on the surface had solid bones underneath. What looks unfinished or shaky in our lives right now may still be quietly rooted where it counts, and worth the patient work of rebuilding from the inside out.
A five-minute morning commitment, a prayer, a single passage of Scripture, and a brief list of blessings before sleep, are not small habits. They are the daily practice of driving roots deeper into the only source that holds through every season.
Tonight's Scripture
"Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit." — Jeremiah 17:7-8, NLT
Your Evening Prayer
Lord Jesus,
We confess that we feel scattered. There is so much pulling at us, good and hard alike, and we find ourselves on shaky ground, questioning the next step, struggling to feel rooted and secure.
Fill us with Your peace. Fuel our faith. Pull us into Your Word where we can find the foundation we need to be strong. Before we build anything else this season, reinforce the foundation. Sink our roots deep into You, the steady source that does not run dry in drought or heat or the uncertainty of a new and demanding season.
We want to be trees that stay green. Root us there.
In Your name, Amen.
