3:20A little bit earlier because I think they had an appearance on the sunday or something um And sadly and I said oh we'll just get an afternoon flight um, so we can spend the day in the sun And then when we got to the airport people were saying the flights cancel the flights cancel so we basically just had to turn away Because there was no sight of the the flights coming back on So we quickly booked an Airbnb and that's pretty much where we've been since really was seven days um, and it was scary first few days was quite scary just because it's You're known and we were trying to stay off of social media and obviously the news um Highlights everything that's going on, but we felt really safe Throughout the period um, and yeah, I think more than anything we were just Wanting to get back and not knowing when that was going to happen And I think that was the thing that probably stressed me out the most was He'd book a flight and then 12 hours before you get told that it's cancelled And obviously I think it was like 200,000 brits out there or people that were needing to go through the UK

4:23Um, that we're all trying to get on flights. So then you'd go to rebook and it'd be Like five days time. Yeah, and then you might look again They might one might come up and then that gets cancelled so a lot of cancelled flights um, and a lot of organizing but Yeah, I mean anybody that knows myself or even sardiers is a person with both pretty chill and Yeah, that's what I said to Ellie. So she rang me on I can't remember what day was think it was a Sunday morning And obviously I was panicking at home like My god, is she gonna be okay? Um a bit like her mum probably, but I said oh, I'm such a type A person So I like really like to know everything that's going on really organized like Kind of hour by hour, I'd want updates And you with that you were the same which really surprised me didn't it? I was like oh my god I was like in a crisis your type A at the start. It was like I have to be like that because we needed something to like Work towards almost like knowing Yeah, we're gonna we've got a flat booked on Thursday and not I don't like waiting on other people because I needed a little bit of control in that

5:28I know there's a lot of people still Trapped out there and if any of these listeners actually know people that are out there Go to the office at Emmeritz Airport at the airport go to the Emmett's office because our next flight was Thursday So tomorrow and we saw on tiktok someone saying you can't go to the office. So we went We were in the queue for about 40 minutes It wasn't too bad and we went and maybe three o'clock in the afternoon So it wasn't like first thing all I say Um, and they just said yeah, we can get you on a flight tomorrow So if anyone does know anybody out there go to the ticket office and you'll be able to get on a flight much sooner Yeah, that's really good. Well, yeah, we're very happy that you're back on on the sofa with us But it did mean that you obviously missed the cab to clash Um this weekend obviously Saris picked up their twelfth consecutive win in the PWR this season and the London bragging rights Yeah, exactly. I you know what watching the game. I really enjoyed the first half obviously um because it was really tight

6:35um And obviously I don't know it from being in the changing room or what it felt for you guys But I can just say is a spectator and a Quinn's player It looked like because obviously when I was away. I was still watching training. I was still having conversations with Ross. I had coach around certain things that happened in training and trying to pick my brain and pick his brain about it and What I saw in training wasn't what I saw in the first half And it was working um, you know the kick pressure from Ella knocking it back into your guys half and finding grass kept the game pretty even and it kept the play in your half because we know the strength of the Saris pack And you get anywhere near the five metre and you're probably going to drive it over And I think it's the same for all top teams internationally and in the PWR you get in that five metre and you're probably not going to come out of it as a defensive team Um But yeah, then I just feel like there was a bit of a switch going into the second half we changed the plan a little bit more

7:38Um competing kicks not as much of a long kicking game um And You guys thrived under under the chaos and picked picked off gaps and holes and ended up scoring and running the game away. Yeah, I I would tend to kind of agree I think like the first 20 of the first half like competitive and then the last 20 of the last half I think we're like really competitive yet I it was kind of actually a bit confusing like change of game plan in the kicking zone I've thought like especially in the backfield. I was like I wouldn't have been doing that like Not it's a 50 50 isn't it whether you get it back or not so maybe that was You kind of wanted to make meters get the ball back maybe go for a scrum set piece like I don't I don't obviously I don't know not wasn't in your changing room, but yeah, I think that was quite bizarre like not bizarre But it was a little bit as well Yeah, you've got whether that was a game plan or not let like I don't know because I wasn't in the changing room either Something was working. Yeah, you don't need to change it at that point And I think that's where the game needs to evolve that

8:39You've said it a lot with saries is you've got the game plan as a structure to fall back on as opposed to Try thrive on that straight away. You find your momentum and you find what works Yeah, and that changes in the game, you know by the time you come into half time You get found out because coaches messages come on and you can see clips back So you might need to adapt a little bit then but it just felt like two different game plans were played Yeah, I did um me during the week like just the PWR um like press conference and One of the questions was oh like how excited are you to play Ellie like obviously I knew you weren't playing And um are like media guy was like obviously giggling as well because he was like well Surely you know she's like yeah kind of stuck and then I was like yeah buzz in like always really loved and and after um The like conference that our media guy was like You answered that really happily and I was like well, yeah because like yeah I actually found it hilarious that like I'm answering the question knowing that she's not playing but I still was like yeah

9:40Love playing against it. It's so fun Um, but I actually missed it. I missed you not being on the pitch which I found a Bit strange like I kind of rocked up to the stoop and like not seeing you Was old that does do I mean like in like not you not being in the backfield or not like Getting giving a bit of banter not that like we do that over. It's more like what's different to like Meg's banter or such like on a pitch But I was like oh this is this is strange It was so bizarre you not being that if they felt weird for me because obviously I mean it's a big game Anyway, so you get hyped up for Any game but in particular series Queen's historically. Yeah, and such a big game and yeah Right, it's in the title of capital clash Um, and I was really excited to play that game um Obviously I had to miss the sale game a couple weeks before because I was on managed minutes So we'd like made the decision that I'm playing against Syrie's as and I'll miss the sale game um, but it turns out I should have just missed the series game

10:43So just wait the sale and miss series yeah fair enough um what we all like um I guess takeaways from the obviously you guys lost to sale in the mud bath and then Obviously, I've lost us. What's your what are your takeaways? Obviously now you've gone back into training on monday What are your takeaways from those two games going into love because this is the big game for you guys. Yeah I mean, I think it's it's big for for both sides especially with some of the recent results um You know in in the pwbi that that fight for the fourth position is getting more and more competitive um You know, we just had that honest conversation something is missing and if we don't Sort it out when not making top four yeah, and it was brutal in a lot of ways But it was also really helpful to come away with like three things that we can put into this week um to make sure that on friday we give ourselves the best chances to You know put put a job on love for who are hard teams play. I think love for being really unfortunate in the past few games, you know

11:47A try in it. Yeah a couple points in it Um, and they'll be up for it. Yeah, they don't want to feel that hurt again And you know that that feeling when people want to it's like a revenge and it's not necessarily against us but The games that they've played they deserved wins and not got them. Yeah, so they're going to have that in them So we know how important this friday is but last night I trained and it's probably one of our best training sessions Um, I mean absolutely we blew the socks off of me I was absolutely knackered um because we spoke a lot about Intensity and you know something that was very interesting for me was Sitting in the room and like digesting what it is for me as well Yeah, and I wasn't going to speak up because I'd been away for three weeks So I was kind of about right again I'm just going to sit and listen and digest, but then I ended up speaking up and One thing that I've realized of me is you've got to under I've got to understand the why for things So if we're going to go to a competing kick game why I what is the reason and as long as everyone knows why we're doing

12:49Everyone will be able to do it to the best of ability and more like why do you present the ball long now? It sounds so simple, but it's not to impact it's not to necessarily not get turned over But it's for the quick rook speed so that you can play quickly into the next phase which opens up a gap in the phase after And I think as an average rugby fan who probably doesn't know the tactics behind things out here You know easily commenting on Things whether the good or the bad Don't necessarily understand that like deep level of thinking that everything you do on the pitch will impact three phases later Um So we had a yeah we had a really good conversation about that because look coming against you guys was always going to be a battle and You know you you you're still first we're joined Yeah, join on points, but like they've got a game in hand by and so You're at top two then for a reason. Yeah, and we're not in top two for a reason So it was never going to be yeah, we're winning this and you can have every hope that you can do that But I'm sure Leicester will say that when they get the series as well

13:52um But playing against sale like I said I wasn't playing that game, but That hurt the girls that hurt me to you know come away from that match and not win it because we know we can beat them We've beaten them before yeah Yes, we know that they've they've had quite a good run in the past few weeks, but You look at the table. We should be winning there because we are above them um So yeah a lot of reflection um, but then also a lot of energy put into that training session So I'm looking forward to Friday. Yeah Friday nightline. It's gonna be interesting. It's gonna be interesting What your what your takeaways? I I think We played well in patches and like say we kind of stuck to our game plan kind of not and I think it's when we don't stick to our game plan And it doesn't work that's when then we're not good as such um, I think We shouldn't have let you get a bonus point. I shouldn't have let you get a bonus point like that was it unnecessary So it's being able to close out a game in the last like 10 minutes um like

14:57We need to be better in that aspect um, but we we were happy I guess with the performance like I think everyone For us as well. It's serious. I obviously have been in both teams Like everyone always gets up for that game So it's having that mentality weaken week out. I think it's really important especially for us this weekend going against cluster heart Everyone Sunday I said like I've said to the guys we need to carry whatever you felt that week last week and at the game You have to feel the same this week like you know The last time they came to stone x1 and they lifted the prem the last time they came to stone x They're in the home changer and like they took a lot from us the last time they were here So like we don't want that again And it's just remembering those feelings and emotions which I think are really important um But we played well in patches um and we showed some like really good rugby Um, and I just think we have to take those patches into like every game going forward now really Yeah, I think I like for me and I think I highlight for everybody that's in our Instagram as well But it highlights now everything that you've spoken about before about heads up rugby

15:59Um having a game pan but also knowing that you've got enough rugby players to make decisions and and go off of that and back yourselves was obviously you try Um, so full-length but also You know What people know you you're underneath your post pretty much you kicking it out Um, but you guys seize the opportunity and you got something great from it. Yeah Um, what was like what was that like for you like were you calling for that? Did you know that was on? Well, I start on the other side of the pitch So I'm like come from a breakdown previously and I'd heard live and Zoe cool like the clearance like kind of cool I was like okay, but I have to go round as a number anyway in the chase So I'll then push round and then I see I see Lee on the edge and I was like I was like we're on here not like yeah, yeah forward, but I was like we're on here like there's four of us First is kind of Lee like and she was like inside post and I me and Bridger was screaming at Zoe like screaming and At the end of the day, Zoe's decision where she wants to kick it or pass it like we can't do anything about that

17:01Um, but I think she kind of then looked up and was like like they're on And I was so nervous Zoe was gonna pass it to me like I honestly was Breaking it. I was like if she passes me. I'm getting smashed. It's gonna be well embarrassing And um She obviously because I said to that to her after she was like I was never passing to you I was like I think the Lord and then she obviously zipped it across to Bridger and to be fair to Lee She actually gave me a bit of a boost because she pushes me So she pushes me actually around the corner to get like on Bridger's like by a side and then Bridger I mean she she's been playing fantastically well at the moment. So Bridger I think she's been like really solid in our like center for us And she just takes ball on and like commits penia and then like releases me But I think what she did really well, which I guess I really enjoy from Someone inside of me is she didn't give it to me too early But then she also then didn't not give it to me. So like she trusted that I was on her outside But she knew she had a job to also do she didn't just like give it to me and be like have a go

18:04She was like no, I need to draw this player for then to release Jess and then I was exhausted But I should tell you what and this is what I kind of said I think I said to one of the fans after because they were like try was so good You taught me that What I said you taught me that bit the finish So you remember when you said on the pod like a couple of weeks ago you were like when you scored that try against extra And you cut back in that when you when you did in my head me I thought no, yeah, I wouldn't in my head. I just thought Ellie to Ellie says something here. That's literally all I did and I like slowed down because I was like oh um Tolly wasn't like coming across with like so much pay So I was like I think I'm actually gonna have to like try and offset her a bit And then I yeah slow down and then just like saw her hips kind of go and I just then step back inside But what gave me the biggest dick of my life was Putting the ball up in the air when I scored what was that like what was that? Did you see how you see how literally like put the ball down? And then I like it was like Ah, I put the ball up in the air and then I like obviously realized and I quickly take it down and they over and like hugged me

19:09I was like what was I doing obviously happy? But I think it was because I wanted to do something like I shushed the crowd or something, but I would never I don't have the confidence to do that But I wanted to do something especially from being At Quinn's to now it's Harry's and then to score like a try like that. I really wanted to do something but my initial reaction was And I was like it'll become more normal because you know um the the try I the first try against france i scored and I do this before oh yeah as soon as I did it I was like Well, I just done that, but it's just like Yeah, I was like oh my god, what just happened But also this is tear mine. I'm not sure if I want to share it So I need to work on my pelvic floor. I read you yourself. Yeah Do the exercises now? But yeah, and so then at halftime and In the changing room I was like shaking like that's how exhausted I was I was like Shaking I had to take my thermal off like took my shirt off. I was like boiling. Yeah, I'm overheating Um, but only hit 91 percent. Oh, yeah So obviously wasn't that far. This is over 90. Yeah, at least it is over 90 But everyone on the group chat then the next day will a lot of you mess to me She was like oh, you know, but 91% like you sure and I was like But then I'm happy. Yeah, but then I spoke to Debson Deborah Fleming and she was like you didn't even know I was trying I was like okay, thanks and that's well. That's when you're at your fastest when you won't relax, so But yeah, it was good. I did I did enjoy it was a nice A nice try Yeah, it was a nice try and it's one of those ones that I'll circulate for a long time now and I think it just I like it because it shows that teams can play it's like the one against Canada in the last world, yeah Playing out of your own goal line. There's so much cake left over like actually so much cake less over Um, and it was just really good and that was really nice like my nephew's sorry my nephews were at the game Yeah, the whole day I was exhausted on Sunday literally like napped and I never nap Um, but the whole day was just glorious like they my nephews came on the pitch They were like running around and I didn't know this but before the weekend some he goes to nursery like two days a week but they always write um Back to my sister nor about what they've like said or what they've been looking forward to and he said to his teachers I'm going to the road be this weekend and I'm gonna run on the pitch and then that's what he did You know I think that just shows how much it means seeing I know right and he was like buzzing

22:20So I feel like running around he had a little sirey shot on their breech for on the I was so cute it was so cute um But that wasn't the only thing that was cute um It was world book day. Yeah, on Thursday Um, and that's where kids go to school dressed up as their favorite book character And James has sent in a photo of his daughter Evelyn dressed as Ellie with a little Printed cover of Ellie's new book wearing a jersey that I have given her offended that you didn't actually dress up as me But I appreciate I don't have a book not yet not yet. So I appreciate that but how cute I actually got a few messages um was a few kids that did it as well But like it's easy with my hair. You just give them a wig. I mean like um But yeah, no, it's really cute to that. I know I feel like it's not until those moments that you really appreciate I was going on and at the impact that you have on people and yeah, I got this message soon.
