About this episode
A call from Tamera King excited about renewed interest in America's treatment of prisoners. The 13th Amendment includes the following: Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.
Prisoners can be treated as slaves. Advocates have been working for years to change this passage. Now is the time for all people to be treated as equals, regardless of a criminal conviction.
