Hi there, it's Jonathan Beness from Getting Better with Jonathan Vaness. Americans United for Separation of Church and State has been in this fight since 1949, and honestly, 250 years into the American experiment, it's time we all decide what kind of country we actually want to be. The founding fathers got plenty wrong, but keeping Church and State separate, they got that one right. Right now, Christian nationalists are trying to erase that history. They're misusing government power to push their beliefs, rewrite what America looks like, and decide who gets to belong here. Americans United is holding the line against every bit of it. They've sued the Trump administration seven times in the past year alone, 12 times since its second term started. They're calling out officials who use our tax dollars to push their religion, defending public schools, and making sure the government actually follows the Constitution. None of that happens without people like you. If you want to be part of a community that's actually doing something about this, go to aew.org slash getting dash better. Enjoying the fight.
Because when America is divided, we are Americans United. I've been in therapy for so many years. I love it. I'm a big proponent of other people starting therapy. And I feel like the barrier to entering to therapy is sometimes finding a therapist, especially when it's covered by insurance, and that's why I love grow sessions average at $21 with insurance, and some pay as little as $0 depending on their plan. I get really stressed out by mundane small tasks, like returning things to a store. And in therapy, I've been working through how to manage that, and the other day I noticed, I went and did returns, and it didn't bother me at all. That is what growing feels like. And that's exactly what grow therapy is here for. Grow is therapy that works. It's covered by insurance. Over 230 million people nationwide can use their insurance on grow. So odds are you're likely covered too. Sessions average at $21 with insurance, and some pay as little as $0 depending on their plan. There are no subscriptions, no long-term commitments. You just pay per session. You can search by what matters like insurance, specialty, identity, or availability. See if you could pay as
little as $0 for therapy. In seconds, at growtherapy.com slash TG OG. That's growtherapy.com slash TG OG. Availability and coverage vary by state and insurance plan. Hi. Hello. Hello. Everyone. How we doing? This is two girls one ghost. Two girls one ghost. We are your ghost. This is that is Karen. Hello. I'm Sabrina. This is an encounter's episode where we read your stories. Did I slay my word? I don't know. My brain just kind of stopped working. You looked at me as if something I did something and I was like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
because I'm post-bachelorette party who knows what's wires are not crossing. Or maybe they're getting you survived a bad trip. I survived a meteor. I'm so sad I missed it. It's also feels so weird to even talk about current events knowing that this comes out in like September. Yeah. But we're recording it three months later first. Yeah. It's June. Yeah. It's also crazy for you because it will be September. Yeah. We're traveling through time. Crazy. Yeah. You missed two sonic booms because it was in South Carolina before you went there. Well, and then actually I was the sonic boom in Toronto. Honestly, that could be. It was my thing about like two days before Sabrina comes. The city tries to. Maybe the aliens have been looking for me and they got their wires crossed. Oh shoot. And that was their little tantrum. They're about. She's about a year. I'm her. Yeah. It made me realize we could all die at any instant and we'd never get alerted on our phones. I mean, my only thing was, damn it, I missed it. I mean, it was kind of cool. Yeah. Like it was scary in the moment. Yeah. My nose wasn't overly scary. I downloaded it. You did?
Because that was my like June 1st, I'll download Hinge. Okay. I downloaded it at the airport. I'm more city. Did you say you were in Boston? Okay. But one of the things is like, what did you get your biggest regret? And it's I wrote that I have not been abducted by aliens. Yeah. It's gotten a lot of responses, but not from the people you want responses from. I don't know. You need to run with humor. Yes, but Hinge is a scary place. What? I feel like almost everyone I know has met their partner on Hinge. Sure, but there's two. Like, Raya, there was not enough options on it. Hinge, there's just too many and they're not of highest caliber. Well, that I found yet. Unfortunately, for you, I will say my experience with Hinge was like, there were like a couple new people every year, but like, mostly because Boston's is small, it's going to be the same group over and over and over again. Then you're going to start recognizing the people at the bars and out on the streets. Well, good thing I don't go out often. So we go on walks. I feel like walking. I would just go, I'm head down. I've seen that person.
I'm looking at the squirrels and the trees, not the people I'm walking past. You know what I'm so excited for? It was the love is blind, fastened. I have tea about it. What? My hairdresser knows a guy who was on it. And I can't say we have the enough to cast. Good for him. I don't know if they've announced it. They already filmed it. Because Brian, I know, Brian, I keep being like, what are the chances we know someone on it? But then we're also like, but we're a little older in the demographic now. Like if this were like five years ago, he the guy that my friend knows or my hairdresser knows is like in his 30s. Yeah, but apparently it's not not. I told you to apply. You said, no, yeah, absolutely not. Then my friend Chris, I texted him and tried to do the like, odds are you applied? I love his mind. You know, and then they'll say like one and five or whatever you do three, two, one. And he just refused to do it. And he's like, no, well, here's if this helps anyone. My hairdresser is married with a child and they DM'd her asking if she wanted to be on it. She's like, I'm married. Wow. I'm insulted. I didn't get a message. You're also married. As a Boston local who has a microphone who talks about being a Boston local. I can't believe that.
Anywho. I guess I was too pregnant. So I do think they should do a love island, but people in their 30s. See, I've never seen love island. Sorry for no idea. I just see people like arguing in hot tubs. Yeah. But I just feel like make it more accessible for the older people. For us, us in our 30s. We're trying to get a second time. Go old. Anyway, hi, we're here to read ghost stories. And occasionally I guess talk about my dating life. Well, you know what, this was appropriate because our theme for encounters was kitchen sink. So anything goes. There's no theme. And that's kind of what you get when you come to two girls. My go. So it's like, are we talking about? Oh my god. I just looked at one of your subject lines. Are we talking about dating life? Are we talking about the time someone's ghost was addicted to porn? Stop it. I pulled the specifically for you. I was like, oh my god, I can't believe I'm getting to grab because it was only since six days ago. So the stuff here's in my throat. I was like rushing because I feel like you always see everything like in the. Yeah. I'm sure. I'm refreshing our inbox. Maybe every five
minutes. Yeah. And no, I ran. Organized. I ran. I was out of breath grabbing this email before Sabrina could see it. I'm a 12 year old boy. Subject line definitely geared towards Sabrina. Okay. He he he. Hello, lovely ladies and TG O.G. community. I'm Marissa. I feel like I hardly meet a Marissa in the wild. But when I listen, I start to think that we're all here because I hear my name so often in stories told. Okay. So there is going to be a warning of talk of drugs and sexual assault in this story. I'm new to the Patreon family and I've been going through campfire stories. Woo woo. On campfire stories. Number 31. Also, it's live every week, but it's also available for replays. So you can always go back and rewatch everyone's stories. Bonus content. There was someone named Katie who told her story of a haunted house. And honestly, it felt exactly like my story growing up. Except I basically grew up as an only child because my brother was 22 and out of the house and I was 12. I was alone. I felt fear being in just that one house. Having night terrors basically every single night. I know. And I was so happy on the nights that I wouldn't dream.
I would also get chased around the house in my dreams. And at the time, I was terrified of dinosaurs like the 90s dinosaurs Disney movie, which is very scary. And in my nightmare, as a T-rex would somehow be chasing me through the house. I would hide under the bed. And this happened a lot. Oh, poor Marissa. And I was like, oh my gosh, am I having a bad dream? Is a sleep paralysis? What is this? But I'd wake up and I'd be on the bed and I wouldn't be able to move. And it was during this time that it felt like maybe I was still in a dream because I would see these two black cats. But they'd have these like, chair-shyres smiles like the Alzen Wonderland cat. And they would be holding me down. And the memory of it is so strong. I remember just feeling so uncomfortable and trapped. So everything that I went through, paranormal-wise, was at this specific house. I don't remember how my parents even came into buying it. We lived there for four years before my mom left and my dad- Oh, almost had a night. It was just there. Yeah. The little demonic cats summoned you to pin you down and- Still yourself.
You still yourself. Give you nightmares every night. We lived there for about four years before my mom left. And unfortunately, my dad was into harder drugs. And he took all of her money and I had a girl up being very strong for my mom. I actually cried a lot. The house might have contributed to some of these heated emotions happening. And I wonder if I dreamed that it was coming. I've had a dream where me and my mom are in the trailer house living room. And this is the house that we lived in before we were in the haunted house. I was looking through the windows towards the direction of where the haunted house was. And at the time, I didn't know of this house. So it was just dark. And in the distance, I could see this bright red glowing over this particular area. It was like a bright fire in the distance, but pretty close. Like maybe two miles away. And I remember asking my mom in the dream, what is that light in the distance? And she casually answered, oh, that's the devil. And now my mom didn't never say those words, even if it was true. And it wasn't until I was an adult that I thought back and realized that that is where the haunted house was that we moved to.
Dread. Demon. Great. I now have two lovely cats, Luna, who's 11 and living her best life. And after moving in with my boyfriend, his cat, Max, our great tuxedo. And if you're curious about a poor and loving ghost, I'm not sure. I'm not sure why this would happen. I honestly think that maybe this thing just wanted to prank me or terrifying me a lot of times, but we had dish TV. And it liked to change the channels a lot. Maybe it was just weird interference, but one time I was in the room and I could see down the hall to my parents room and they were both playing in bad watching TV. The door was open. And the ghost starts changing the TV on me. It keeps going to some random porn channel. I would change it back really quickly and look over my shoulder because I was 12 and my parents were there and they just never noticed they kept doing their thing. But then once again, my ghost would change the channel back to this one porn channel. What a sicko. This happens one more time. I know. Just trying to get her in trouble. Watch on your own time. Oh my God. This happens one more time before finally my TV changes again right back
to the porn channel. This happens one more time before I finally call my mom. And I say, I don't know what's happening. The channel keeps changing. And so she stands there for almost two minutes and nothing happens. As soon as she gets up and walks away, she's not even in her room yet. The TV changes back to the porn channel. I stopped calling my parents for weird offense because honestly, they just like didn't really believe me most of the time. And after we moved, I stopped getting terrified. So I kind of forgot about all of it. Well, I love you, girls. I listen anytime I can from Marissa. I feel like that porn loving ghost is I don't like because it feels manipulative. It's super inappropriate. And it's not trying to get her in trouble because other if it was, it would have done it in front of her mom. Yeah, or done it to make it look like Marissa did it. Right. When the mom was coming or whatever. It's trying to expose her to something which we don't approve of. No. Yeah, that house is definitely haunted. I'm curious how old Marissa is. No. Yeah. Just to like understand when this happened too. Because I feel like these were
the days where it's like people always talk about, oh, there's no modern ghosts. And like how do you know if you have a modern ghost? But like what if there was a modern ghost in this house at this time? It was like another teenager because I remember I've said this like 500 times on the podcast. But like I remember getting in trouble for like a one or two porn links or something on our family computer. But it was a time that in AIM people would be like, oh, click on this link. It would be like freaking meetspin.com or something. So like people would introduce me to meetspin.com. In my adult years jokingly send like porn links and you'd open it and you'd panic. Yeah. And I didn't know about cookies or deleting your history. Yeah. I still don't understand cookies. Me neither. Why are they called cookies? Maybe is that why I'm making a weird stuff? Why are we clearing our cookies? Why are you giving me cookies if I can't actually eat them anyway? Right. Like cookies are edible. Not tangible. That's why I don't understand. Does anyone understand cookies? I don't know. Wow. Okay. Yeah. That is a haunted place. There's a lock going on in this one place. There's also a lock going on in my next couple of stories. Which one do I start with? They're all scary.
Kitchen sinks. It really finds them all scary. Well, interestingly because we have two folders in our inbox that like we will if we see things we pull them into those folders. Yeah. I have about 340 in mine. You have 97 years. So whenever we do a kitchen sink, I go to my folder. Oh, you just pull. And naturally the ones that I have pulled into my folder are often the scariest ones. Yeah. So I'm going to read one that is called Red Door, Yellow Door and Demons. Oh, okay. Hi. My name is Abby. I just are listening to your podcast about a year ago and I consider myself a pretty in tune person. My home over self wanted to read insane person. Okay. Abby said I have a lot of smaller experiences from my haunted house, but this is by far the most memorable. I will change everyone's names except for mine for privacy. To give a little background of the situation, my house is haunted. I've known this since before I could even talk and I strongly believe it and I have even through my teens. Oh, before she could even talk, that makes me so sad.
To think of just like a toddler walking around being like, wow, I don't really know what life is, but I feel like these dead people hanging out probably not a part of normal life for some. Everywhere in this house is kind of equal in creepiness, but nowhere has actual bad vibes except for the basement. With the amount of experience that have happened down there, this one included, I definitely think this is where all the hauntings come from. That might be because of something that happened before we moved in because it's over a hundred years old, or it might be because no one wanted to play the Ouija board with me when I was six. So I took it upon myself to participate my parents and I played alone. At six? I mean, if you're seeing ghosts from before you're even born, I can't comprehend what a six year old is like right now. I feel like I only know toddlers are like 10 year olds. I know. So like six. Yeah. What are you saying? What are questions are you asking the board? We don't get that story right now. Either way, the house is haunted. It's a good setup for who this person is. Yes. For our girl Abby. Yeah. So it started when me and
my friend were hanging out and decided to look up scary games to play. We looked through a few, but they were all either too mundane or too scary. And that is when we found Red Door Yellow Door. The game is simple. One person lays down in the other's lap and the other is a guide. The person laying down closes their eyes and then tries to visualize doors and focus on what the guide is chanting. The guide starts chanting Red Door Yellow Door any other color door until the person laying down goes into this sort of trance. Now the person laying down who's in the trance, they should be able to visualize something like a hallway, doors, a room, etc. And the guide is supposed to guide them through. There are also rules that both people need to know in order to play, but especially the guide because they are the one who is fully conscious. There are lots of rules. But the main one that is involved with this story is to avoid people in the trance. Basically, this game is an exploration of your consciousness and it's best to avoid other people if you see them in your trance like state. In some variations, when you see a man in a suit standing in front of you,
you are supposed to end the game. But we also got all of our information from TikTok and Reddit, so who knows how relevant this is. But we knew all these rules. Me and my friend were in my basement and we decided to try it. My basement has a pullout bed where we could play the game. And we also were like, that's where all the scary should happen. So what better place to play the game? Also Abby just brought something up that I've never thought about. We're like, when you're playing a paranormal game, we're just blindly trusting the rules that we read online or like whatever source we get it from. Yeah, that's why they're dangerous. Yeah, I never really thought about that. That's why the disclaimers at the top is like, play at your own risk. What if someone's purposefully manipulating you and giving you the wrong steps in a game to get you trapped? Yeah, and also you have the trust of the human. Yeah. Okay, so I tried it first where I went into a trance and my friend was guiding me. My younger brother was there for emotional support, but I couldn't get into the trance. I did have pretty bad paranoia after and I was convinced that my brother and my friend weren't them for about 10 minutes. Slowly though, I was able to get back to my right mind. After that,
no one really wanted to try it, but somehow I convinced my friend after you just spent 10 minutes being like, you're not who you say you are. Yeah, that's so free. It didn't work, but you're not who you say you are. So I guided my friend and everything was going pretty well until she came out of her room and saw an old man. The way she described him was that he was hunched over, bald, smiling. She said, this smile was so wide it was freaking her out. I started getting freaked out too. So I told her to walk away, but she said she couldn't. She described it as being frozen in place and then said he was getting closer to her, but neither of them was moving. I was very freaked out. That's so trippy. But I kept my voice calm and I said, walk away. When again, she said she couldn't. I asked if I should wake her up and she stopped responding. I woke her up after a minute of not responding and she was very dazed. By then, her parents were there to pick her up and on the way out, I asked if she remembered anything about the man. She looked to be confused and said, no, about a week later, we hung out again and I asked if she could remember now. She said only bits and pieces, but that all week she was having dreams about that man.
Okay, clearly it worked. I told her the full story and she was shocked about how little she actually remembered from the night when we played the game. Eventually the dreams stopped, but after that she texted me that something else happened. According to her, she was at a park swinging and looked out into the wooded area of the park where she saw a creature on four really long legs with a humanoid body smiling at her. She said it was the man's smile. Ew. I hate this because I'm also picturing like I haven't seen the movie The Backrooms, but I've seen like the trailer and clips and like things about the different monsters and I'm picturing the one version of the guy that has like the peg leg. Yeah. She said she couldn't explain it, but she knew it was him. So I sat there terrified and thanked whatever god had let me not fall into that trans. And if after all that, you think we never played Red Door Yellow Door again. Unfortunately, you would be mistaken. About three weeks later, it was my four three weeks. Not even enough time to convince yourself. It wasn't really that big of a deal. I mean, apparently Abby did. It was my 14th birthday and I had
a party with many of my friends, including the one that I'd first played Red Door Yellow Door with. And for some reason, after we ate cake, we decided to ask if anyone else wanted to play. Where do we go? Down to the basement. We shared the dangers, the rules, and soon everyone was trying it. And it was going pretty well until a girl asked if I could be her guide. I said yes. She was in the trans. Everything was going okay until she came out of one of the rooms and said she saw a man with a really wide unnatural smile. I started asking if she wanted me to wake her up, but similar to my friend, a couple weeks prior, she stopped responding. So I woke her up. When she woke up, she was evidently shook and had to stay laying down. Everyone else stopped playing and started watching us to make sure she was okay. Yeah, I do. Because it's hard, like, especially when someone's having a hard time waking up, you're like, what's the difference between a, like, poorly timed medical emergency and something paranormal? Right. She suddenly started crying and pointing at something in the corner of the basement. Everyone looked turned. There was no one there. We were all confused. But my friend and I locked eyes, the friend who I played with the first time. We both knew what was happening.
That thing, it was here. And the girl who was laying started screaming, he's here. He's smiling. I immediately started saying things for intentions and protection. I repeated things like, you are not welcome here. You need to leave. We give you no power. You cannot attach yourself to anyone here in this house. I was calm, but I was firm. Some other people in there, they did not have good instincts or experience of what I do, which was evident when one of my friends grabbed a toy sword and tried to hit the area that this other girl was pointing to. Oh my God. Which I felt instantly made it a lot worse and was undoing what I had been doing with my words. Can't just punch and invisible. I kept my voice calm and I kept trying to keep my mind calm. I started to feel angry. I don't know how to explain it, but I knew I didn't feel angry, but there was this overwhelming amount of anger and hatred invading my mind. And soon, instead of my voice being calm, I was yelling and screaming at it. I was still saying the same words, but the intent behind them had completely changed. And soon, I wasn't even saying the same things. I was swearing at it, saying that I hate it, saying
that it would die alone. Other stuff that I truly can't remember. I was not feeling like myself. And I was making it worse by giving it this negative energy. It was almost wanting me to say the things I was saying. I took a moment, I calm down, and then I continued with what I was saying before in a calm way. Thankfully, he disappeared. We were doing everything to try to calm the other girl down. And with it gone, finally, she was able to. She was sitting there quiet when she covered her face and said, he's back. This time, she pointed to the small window in the basement. It launched back into setting boundaries while asking what she saw. She said he was crouching down, and his neck was bent so that he could look into the window. Oh, we're just so creepy because it just like proves and he was still smiling. After about 20 more seconds in me setting boundaries and intentions, she suddenly stood up and said, we need to go outside. I asked her why. And she said that this man had a little boy with him, and he was going to kill a little boy. We all started to assure her that there was no boy that he was just trying to make her come
outside, and he was trying to trick her. She started crying and hiding her face because she said the man was showing her a visual of him strangling a little boy. This reminds me so much of another story we read, probably like a year or two ago, where someone was getting visions of horrible things like murders and kidnappings and stuff. They weren't sure what they were. Very similar to Dominus too. Yeah. Rick. I kept saying words of protection. The others calmed her down and soon enough, he did disappear. Soon after that party ended, I asked this friend if she had seen him again the next week. She just shook her head, but she looked traumatized. I never asked her about it again. And I still talked to the first friend who I played with. And after discussing what happened, we absolutely believe it was the same entity and that it was definitely demonic. And now we don't play Red Dory, Yellow Dory anymore. Thank you so much for reading my story. You guys might be the only one to believe it. Stay spooky, Abby. Does it not remind you of talk to me? I always think about the pan that's hovering above my head on the side. Oh my god. Of whole party of everyone being like, oh, let me take turns of being in this transancy.
The other side. It's just like it's so wild. I understand it's kind of like the don't push the red button sort of thing where people are tempted. You're witnessing some of your friends having really hard times. And you're still willing to try. It's all it takes us out of lessons. Two terrible experiences. Yeah. You talking about the hand is writing me of one of the skits that was saying like Claymore hurt whatever the writer and director of obsession. The creator of obsession he is like comedy troupe. Did a talk to me skit? No way. Yeah. I was like it was funny because he's like just being this modern like annoying ghost. But like from like 2010 and he keeps asking about Kesha. That's my kind of ghost. Any ghost is allowed to come talk to me about Kesha. Yeah. But it's like doing like things that are just so of that like early YouTube like the Kesha area is and the guys like it'll gross. See that's like the ideal version of playing a game like that. You have got a ghost like that not one like this creepy smiling man who's gonna follow you for

Okay I have one called and it's not overly paranormal but I feel like we just don't get emails like this. It's called my time in a cult. Kitchen sink. It's the kitchen sink. We got it now is the time to not be in a cult. There's definitely paranormal elements. Let me just tell you a little. Okay hello I just wanted to start off by saying I absolutely love your podcast so much. Okay now I'll get to the story. Yeah this all started when I was 12 maybe 13 and at the time my mom started working in warehouses and which she met a lady that befriended her. She seems pretty normal to me at the time and I never really had expected what I saw when she invited us over to her house one day. A few weeks before that though my mom had been leaving at night always around 10 pm and then she'd come back almost after midnight and when she did she smelled like herbs and smoke and when I would ask her what was going on she simply said that she
was getting cleansing done. Okay not sure if you've ever heard of centeria. I ain't gonna centeria ain't no crystal ball we heard but she claimed that her friends husband practiced it. At the time I didn't really question her much mostly because I didn't really understand the extent of it but that all changed one night when she told my sister and I to come along with her. Okay later I found out that it was actually the lady that told my mom to take us that night. Ooh. Hey. Which because it's a religion and also if you're like thinking you're doing healing it's like oh yeah of course I'll bring my kids. Oh you're a child suffering from hormones. She bleeds instead of putting her on her control let's bring her and do some cleansing. Yeah and though I get it when we arrived we entered through her front door. I saw her sons but they didn't talk to us. It seemed like they were kind of avoiding even looking at us. Still we made our way to the backyard and I will say never in my life will I forget just how overwhelming it absolutely wretched the smell was that hit me there. What the heck was it? It smelled like blood
in dead animals and there were blood stains in the concrete and there was literally a head of a goat on a stick and then candles around it. Needless to say I was shocked I was disturbed and in front of the altar were chairs and people were already there sitting. I would say maybe there were a total of six or seven people including us. The first time there we had a reading done a cleansing and what I came to realize was there was a full blown possession being done right in front of my eyes. Wait a possession being done not an exorcism. I don't know. Like they're actively trying to get someone possessed. The man in charge of the group would come along wearing all white. He would be barefoot. He wore a few beaded necklaces and he would sip out of a metal cup then he would take a few draws of a cigar and start chanting in a different language. He would say to hold hands and to not let go and then he would say not to look at him but I did anyway. How can you well it's like pressing the red button. Don't press it. Don't look at me. You're going to look more. His eyes rolled back revealing only white and his voice changed. His posture changed to
that of an old man and he spoke in tongues. His wife was the one that translated for him. Over the course of a year my sister and I had to go through a few very disturbing moments for starters. We had to wear all white nightgowns and it was always in the middle of the night. We had to sit in a metal tub under the moonlight. The water contained herbs, pigeon blood, alcohol that he spit in there, rose petals and chewed tobacco. They gathered us, they chanted all while he was like possessed. He blew smoke at us. He spit alcohol in us. He had burning herbs and he would run herbs through our hair and our body and after that we'd have to go to this room that was filled with all sorts of bones on the floor and statues of deities that he worshiped. This is so scary and I their mom was like yeah. It's like an active religion. It exists today. He read my cards and he gave me my own beaded necklaces and he said I have to wear them now. Another instance he would assign us
things like to bring goats or pigeons or doves or pigs and then he would sacrifice them and have us drink some of the blood. That's so dangerous. Speaking of tongues things doesn't freak me out because it's part of a ledger religion. And also with this we say that this is about all religions. Like inherently religion isn't good or evil. It's how the people who are participating in it use it and practice it that can change the perception and believe. Oh absolutely. Yeah. And I feel like drinking straight blood from making kids do it. Animals is probably not the best. Like if you do it on your own. Fine. You chose to do that. But making children do that? Just I mean guys we have a little pandemic. Is this stuff still happening? I feel like the answers got germaphobes wise. The answers yes. People swap spit with strangers every day. I guess that's true. I began to feel pity for the animals even though I feel like at that time I was kind of being brainwashed and believing that maybe this was no big deal. But I asked my mom one night to
let me stay home. And at first she agreed but later she said no I did have to go. The man was asking for us around that time I started going to church and I kind of felt like what we were doing was wrong but I was still chasing religion. Eventually I quit going and my mom did too. And I would say that I guilt-tripped her and that should have been the end of everything right. Only it wasn't. My sister and I started having nightmares. I experienced sleep paralysis so terrifying. I was afraid to go to bed every night. I would hear voices. I would see things. I would have nightmares every single time I wasn't having sleep paralysis. And my sister started sleep walking and talking and became the target for physical attacks. The funny thing about this was that we both kept it a secret from each other. There's something funny about it. What? Where? I mean they've already survived so much it feels like we're just not understanding what is going around them. That I can understand being like okay well this is the lesser maybe of of it all. Of it all. We kept it secret from each other until one night we must have both been so exhausted and we came clean to each other. That day I told her the name of a demon that had been appearing in
my dreams. She looked at me in absolute horror because she told me that it told her the same exact name. Oh what is it? Now there's a bug in here somehow. How did it get in here? I don't know. It wasn't in here before. What should we do? I don't know I feel like it's going crazy. Go to the flame. I feel like our survival instincts are very low right now. Oh it's on the ground. Let me grab it. Where? Oh. Go to the beetle. Go really say. I did not squish it for anyone who's wondering. My sister told me that it had told her the exact same name and at that moment we knew it was no accident. The things that we were going through they were not going to go away by ignoring them. So we at the age of 13 and 9 babies. I got there so much younger than I even thought. Why your stories so far have young children being privy to things that they shouldn't? I don't know. You're two. Sure but they willingly chose it. We decided we would go to whatever church was
closest to us and beg the priest to bless our crucifix and to pray for us. We carried holy water with us at all times. It sounds insane but we swore it was necessary especially because they're doing what they need. I feel like that's bathing it. Like yeah. Put holy water in your shampoo bottles. I think you're like need more things escalated one day when we were home alone because my mom worked all day. We laid in bed and the entire bed started to shake. The lights flickered. We heard scratching on the wall. My sister panicked and screamed and I felt like the air got really thick and heavy. I frozen fear but I'm also not the type to just take it. So I grabbed her hand and we ran out of the front door. We refused to go back inside until my mom came back from work. She asked why we're outside at 10 p.m. and what had happened. And honestly you could tell that she did believe us but she also didn't do a thing about it. I felt so helpless until I came across this church. I told them everything that was happening and they literally held an exorcism
for my sister and I. It was not like the ones on TV where like they're tied down and a few people are praying around them. They said that this would take more than one session. They told us that there was indeed a demonic force attached to us and that's when I came clean about everything that we had experienced. The cult we left behind. I mentioned all the threats the people had made about us not coming back and obviously now this makes sense but it seems like there was something summoned to pest her us for leaving. I am shocked that the mom didn't experience more. I know. But maybe the girls were just easier targets. Yeah. Which also makes it worse. It makes me hate them more. And it's also like I'm a little bit skeptical like did the mom actually fully leave? Oh, I hope so. Which is secretly still participating. Oh geez. In total my sister and I had two exorcisms and constant prayers. Things got scarier before they got better. I learned how to pray. I learned how to ask God for help. And I know this sounds so cliche or almost fake but I really with
all my heart just wanted everyone to know that I do believe God is real and so are demons. Even if you're not religious, there's something about how the name of God holds weight over this darkness. Like that is real. The room brightened. The air started getting lighter. I called out to God and the archangels for help. And that is when I had one of the very last encounters that I've ever had with the Stark entity. The room temperature dropped. The light stemmed. The air was hard to breathe. I felt overwhelmed with the sense of dread. All the signs were there. But despite our attempts at keeping this thing away, it was there. At the time I was so tired, I was so angry with it still messing with us after all this time. And that day I prayed to the archangels out loud. I called to them. I called to God. I begged them for help. I was in tears. I repeated those words over and over. And then suddenly it was like a switch, a change in the room. I could feel the warmth around me. And in my head, I heard a voice saying, keep praying. Don't open your eyes. Whoa, it's so interesting.
It felt like there was spiritual warfare taking place around us. Which is why they really keep your eyes close. You don't want to see what's happening. Battle between light and darkness. Anyway, the amount of trauma, fear, anxiety that this causes me to this day, it really does still haunt me. I strongly believe that my time in this cult opened my spirituality because I am very sensitive to the paranormal now. I see things, I hear things. It happens so often that it honestly almost seems normal. And I don't see the demonic entity anymore. But I do know for a fact that at times I can feel this thing in the back of my mind. Hate that. Anyway, thank you for reading. Hope you're not too disturbed from Maria. Maria were disturbed. And I'm very glad that you are no longer. I mean, it sounds like it's still kind of in the back of the mind. Yeah. But she's not having to go participate and be in this. Right. But like in a way, I almost feel like, is this thing
still stalking her? Or is it just that she's so open to the paranormal that it's almost like a normal thing too that like every once in a while, something else is going to come along. I need just have to keep up your guard. You have to keep your practices of like only letting certain things in. Or also just the fear of it, just the memory of it is like strong enough to have it pop back in every once in a while and be like, I remember you too. Right. Like the part too where there's like scratching on the walls and the bed is shaking. Like it feels so reminiscent of so many of like not the movie, but like the TV hunting in Connecticut, which was based on a real family or like the Smurl family possessions. Like they're just all of these escalations stories of yeah, like what happens in the house when there is a demon. There are patterns coming for you. They have their M.O.s. Damn. You know who else is an M.O.? Lai-Irona. Oh. And this is from a different Abby, but Abby, who didn't believe in Lai-Irona until she's are. See the beauty of believing in
everything is that nothing has to prove its existence to you. So do you want to tempt fate or not? Sometimes they will. Hi, spooky beauties. I'm Abby. I love listening to your show. I guess listening to spooky ship calms me. So here's my spooky story. I'm not sure if you've heard of the urban legend by the name of Lai-Irona. I wouldn't call her an urban legend. I would call her a very real, very present entity. I never believed in her because I don't really like to get into urban legends like that. Oops. Oops. It is such a bit like it's I guess technically you can call it an urban legend, but like it's real. Urban legend feels more like Emily's bridge or like go here and little kids will push your car up to like Lai-Irona is not just in one location like it is all expansive. It is bodies of water can be in your bathtub. Yeah. It's an entity. In all seriousness, though, I do get really uncomfortable talking about it. My husband is Hispanic fully, so he and his family really believe in this shit. And I've always made fun of them. Well, my bad fam, he's from Texas way down south where Lai-Irona is prominent. So there was one time where we went to visit his
parents for a mini vacation. We live in Ohio and I had found out I was pregnant with our now six-year-old while we were there. The very night we found out I went outside just to sit and relax by myself and soak in that Texas night air since I had never really been there before. I was outside sitting in the swing. When all of a sudden I started to hear rustling around in the bushes not too far from the house. I thought, hmm, probably just a stray dog because down here there's a ridiculous amount of strays that wandered around. So I ignored it. Then I heard crying. No, like a really distressed whaling. Now I am Caucasian, but I have a Hispanic stepfather who's been my dad since I was seven. I was 25 at the time of this incident and I am now 32. So I grew up with Hispanic influence. I knew about her. So my mind went to her when I heard this whaling, but I was frozen, staring in the direction I heard the cry coming from. And that's when I saw her. She was far away, but I saw her. And I have never been the same sense. She was just standing there crying.
And when she started to move, I tried so freaking hard to run inside, but I was frozen. I don't know what was wrong with me at all, but all I could do was just stare at her. Fortunately, my husband ended up coming outside. I don't know why, but the timing was great to see what I was doing. And the second he opened the door, she disappeared. She was gone. I was so freaked out. And also a little embarrassed about not believing my family and my husband's family about this that I never told anyone. Not even him. Oh my God. I am glad that while you're on a disappeared, because that's also proof that like wasn't actually someone who needed help. Yes. So I'm not the guilt of being like, wait, did I miss identify or misconstrued that situation as being paranormal when like someone was actually in distress? No, it was all right. I've never seen or heard her again, but I find myself paranoid a lot now that I have two young children. And where I live is very quiet. So sometimes I find myself listening a little too hard at night. All I can do is hope she doesn't like Ohio. Just like no one else does. So I don't know, but I am telling you she's real. Texas, zero out of 10
stars. Love you. Abby. Texas and Ohio. We have Texas and Ohio's number one heater here. No, she loves that. Abby. Oh my God. I think she's just scared of, I mean, I don't know that she's Ohio's heater. She likes it. She just knows everyone else hates Ohio. But I. Oh, Ohio was on my list of like if the apocalypse hits, I was like, I'm going to go to Ohio because it's easy. It's like to your I love them. We fund to apocalypse with them. It would be fine. No, but it was before we even knew them because I was like, it's hilly, but it's not mountainous. There's a bunch of woods. There's a bunch of deer. There's like, you know, bodies of water, like things to live off of. Yeah. And then recently, I think I told you, Ryan's here on you and a group of tax. I was like, it's off my apocalypse list. There's so many weird things were happening. Because it was like a freaking media. Aliens down. There's aliens. All the big, but there was like a common tornado. We're like windstorm that like ripped everything apart. I was like, all right, Ohio's actually maybe the number one spot that things are going to start happening. I guess the one promising thing that we
can learn and garner from Abby's story is that LaGarona is not in Ohio. Yeah. As far as we know. Well, yeah, I was going to say there's still time. I feel like there's other stories where like you're actually shocked how far away from the country of origin. You're on a console like that she will travel because it also kind of feels like there's a connection to anyone who has like the ancestral line. Not only related to her, but just like the Hispanic origin. Well, it is interesting to the night she found out she was pregnant is when LaGarona came. Because with the origin story of LaGarona, it's sad that she's looking for her children and willing to steal yours. I hope that she just gets a bad rap. And she's actually like sad. She's sad. Maybe she's a protector of children. And she comes in with like unruly energy to scare the bad people. Maybe. I don't know. Just going back to your Ohio conversation. Have you watched Paradise on Hulu? No, I just started it. I really like it. It's kind of like post-apocalyptic.
Oh, is it? Yeah. I didn't. I had no idea what it was about. I really like it. Is it new? Or is it? Season two came out probably early of 2026. Okay. But it's two seasons. I just started season one. All right. I'll start. I enjoyed it. But on that note, I have to take back a comment I said about Widow's Bay. Oh, because Widow's Bay. Like there was not being scary. No, no, no, no, no, it's scary. But I was like, oh, it's not a comedy. It's just scary. Because there were like a couple like little lines here and there where I was like, oh, that's humorous. Episode four and on. I was like, this, this shit is so funny. Oh, I think it's very funny. It's so dark. But it's also like, I feel like that's when the characters get really comfortable in themselves. You see all like the wild sides of them. Patricia throwing her party. Oh, I like when she like turns it. It's not spoiling anything. It's been out for months. Watch it. But she turns and she has her like head dress on. Yeah. You had your qualms? Like, God, I'm freaking love her. Why didn't you say anything? Yeah. Yeah. What's your next story? It's called, I saw a dragon in Honduras. Great one for a kitchen sink. Love. Boo! Did I get you? My name is Nicholas. They them. And whether this story constitutes as paranormal, it depends on who you ask. Is it a cryptid, fey, creature, folklore? I don't know. But that's still paranormal. Yeah. I personally am someone who believes that dragons have lived or currently live on Earth like any other creature. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on this particular story. When I was 13, my church youth group went on a mission trip to Honduras. The trip was eye-opening. We were in a somewhat rural environment where we mostly helped out at the local orphanage. We painted their school building. We put on a VBS. I don't know what that is. Well, thanks. So it's like maybe it was beneficial. And I still remember some of the songs that we translated into Spanish just sing with the kids. One day we took a drive to a local shelter for the homeless and disabled. The drive trip goes through some beautiful but also terrifyingly narrow mountain roads. I grew up in Missouri and I hadn't really seen so many redstone cliffs,
much less towering mountains in my life. My eyes were glued to the views the entire way there. Sounds stunning. Yeah, but also terrifying. Because like local tribe was such confidence, you know, that bus driver was like flying, zipping through that mountain range. It was on the way back down as we crusted the edge of one of the mountains. My eyes caught onto this huge form, gliding down from the sky above the mountain across from us. It was very far away, but I could tell it was gliding on two symmetrical wings attached to a thin body with no discernible limbs. The head appeared to be maybe triangular. It kind of looked like it had horns. The whole creature was snow white. Oh, well, that takes away my theory because I was like a cawn orr, but no. The whole creature was snow white, which I understand means yeah, okay, it could be an airplane, except that proportions were completely off for an airplane. The wingspan was at least triple the size of its body and the way that it was shaped, it seemed more like it was composed of some webbing stretched
across like two or three long finger limbs or something. Also, we've all seen enough planes to like know what a plane is. Yeah, like yeah, you know what a plane is. That can't be misidentified. Possibly like some feathered wings. I don't know, it seemed like it came to a point, like a sharp point at the end. And there was definitely an elbow and a wrist joint to the wings. I immediately started shouting at my friend to look out the window, look out right now and the creature dropped steadily through the air until eventually it disappeared over the backside of the mountain. Wow. Which is how we knew this thing was not a bird because oh my god, it flew back behind a mountain. So this thing had to be huge. My friend had not seen what I was pointing at because of course she hadn't, but the road led us around to the other far side of the mountain where this creature had been heading. But we saw no sign of any massive white flying creature that had reached down on the side of the mountain. Because it's in its mountain cave. Yes. It's back on its nest. What we saw instead was a charred and actively burning patch of grass. Green grass mind you.
No wood or brush. Nothing actively being burned. No signs of humans around. And so. But there was sign of dragging around. Yes. And so now here are my biases. I was 15 years old. I was madly obsessed with dragons at the time. And for the first 17 years of my life, everything was dragons. Dragon birthdays, dragon drawings, dragon books. It had a train to dragon. It has remained my all-time favorite movie. And when I returned home from this trip, I literally went straight to my room. I found my Drake's book of Dragonology, which I had and located a section on Quetzal Codal, which is a South American dragon that has no arms and no legs. It has feathered wings and sometimes it's described to be all-light. That's look at that. The story goes that this thing burned itself in a turquoise chest to recompose for a vial action in his spirit rose from the flames and became the North Star. Whoa. Okay. What I saw. What an origin story. What's the Codal finally returning to Earth? Stay mystical. See one the other side. Nicholas. Here's like a model of it. It's interesting.
I also like I understand. I appreciate Nicholas being like, okay, let's take into context where I was in my head. I want everything to be dragon. I want to see dragon. Did I misidentify what could be dragon? But he still saw something. He still saw something. And also I kind of feel like it's the same thing where certain creatures and things will expose themselves to those who believe. Who believe? It's like for aliens to be able to make it about me because aliens have not. I am your biggest advocate. I'm literally your number one fan. Yeah. But yeah, maybe. I don't know. I feel like South America in this big stretch of road in mountain region where there's like no one else around and they're just traveling in this bus. Here's the thing with mountains. I think I believe that literally anything can exist there that we just don't know about because chances are we have not explored every single inch of that mountain. No, definitely not. And there's so many different things like caves and rock faces and it's just like think about just like a freaking normal photo where they really can use to find the snow leopard. You're like, now speaking of
I'm kind of look like where's Waldo today? I hear you have a little where's Waldo. I've seen a little hat. Oh yeah, I found him. We found him. Finally, we've captured Waldo. I'll cap literally. He is within me. I have possessed Waldo. Okay, I have a story to end us on. That is going to take us through quite a few different emotions. Oh no. I've already cried today. The origins of the crawler. It's not going to make I don't think it really make you cry. Okay, I don't think. Hey, goolees. My name is next. She, they yes, you can chair my name. I shared my story on KFRY stories and after doing so, I decided to email you the origin story of my attachment. It was so powerful. It scared off a psychic. So let's begin setting the scene as best as I know how. Most of this comes from my mother's memory and what she's told me regarding the incident. At the time, I was about three to four years old and my older brother was about five to six. We lived on the ground floor of the three-story apartment building in a small town in Wyoming. There was a woman who lived on the second floor apartment, but above us, and she was very
introverted. She didn't speak much with the neighbors and she basically spent all of her time in her apartment. And despite never seeing anyone else coming or going, my mother said that they would always hear her speaking to a man. And they would hear a deep male voice responding to her. What? Worlds? Us kids were little, of course. And we made noise, especially during the daytime. And my mom said to this lady, it didn't like it. She would glare at my mom. And at one point, my mom noticed that some of our toys that had been outside disappeared. We now believe she stole them to try and target us kids. Oh, God. So my mom said things started off small. Things moving from their cabinets or covered, opened on their own. She would hear footsteps walking down the hall to our rooms while we were taking our midday naps. She would hear the voice of a man from the living room when she was in the bedroom. But then things began to escalate. My brother began to have severe night terrors. He would wake up screaming his head off in the middle of the night talking about a creature that was climbing out from under his bed and holding him down at night so he
couldn't breathe. I can't. Mind you, he's five or six years old and he's so terrified. But my mom worried that maybe he was a little bit of trauma from missing his biological father who was an alcoholic at the time and the chaotic way in which my mother and his father split. So my mom began to take him to a child psychologist, but the night terrors did not stop. In fact, they got worse so too to the rest of the hauntings. My mom started finding strange scratches at the door frame to mine and my brother's room. And one night my mom said she heard me crying and a woman who we now know is my spirit guardian Susan was whispering in my mother's ear, you need to wake up. Your baby needs to. My mom shot out of bed rushed to my brother and I's room to find that I was using heavily struggling to breathe. She rushed me to the hospital where the doctors declared that I had kissing tonsils and needed emergency surgery to remove my tonsils as they were continuing to grow to adult size faster than my body, making it so that I couldn't breathe. It's so terrifying, but like, yeah. Oh, I wish that this could be a spiritual intervention that everyone gets. Yeah, at least you have
this guardian. Yeah, that's why I'm like, it's going to bring you through a lot of emotions. You got good, but we've got really scary. My mom was terrified. She had no idea how I suddenly developed it when no one else in my family ever had this. But about three months after my surgery is when my mom really hit her breaking point. She just come home from work, the babies that are left, and my mom heard my brother screaming from his night terror again. She hurried back to the room to try to come from my brother, but the door wouldn't open. Oh, no. And she could hear this inhuman growl from the other side while my brother was screaming. She began to slam her body against the door to try to get it open, but the door wouldn't budge. She rushed to her room to grab her phone with both surprise and panic to find me sleeping on her queen size bed right on the edge about the fall off the side of the bed. She's giving me up called her best friend who was a gay man. We love him. He's the best gay uncle I could ask for to come help break down the door. Even D with his thick cowboy boots, he always wears couldn't get the door to budge. So my mom went to call 911 when suddenly the door popped open. My brother was still screaming and crying and he had scratches
and bruises down his arms and legs, along with deep scratch marks that let under the bed. Remember how he said this creature crawled out from under the bed? My mom took both of us and fled to my grandpa's house for the night and refused to ever enter that apartment again. My uncle helped remove everything out and my mom does not understand how I got to her bed and out of the room. That babysitter was a family friend who never would have left me in her bed in a place where I could potentially got unheard. And I was too small to open doors a little and climb up into my mom's bed without help. It's because the other spirit that Guardian was grabbing her and rushing her out. Yeah. Oh, I chills. This is like so terrifying. And I keep thinking like what would I do in this situation? And it's it's hard because it's like I want to fight the demon. But is that what was that? I think moving out is the right thing to do. Yeah. Later on, my mom asked a family of another family who lived on the top floor. So I think the third floor. If they ever experienced any odd happenings as they lived there for years before my mom and I and my brother moved in. The family said they didn't experience anything until the woman who moved into the second floor moved in.
Like my mom. Damn. It started off small scratches that made her paranoid that they had pests. Sounds of people walking in voices. Family was worried that she was getting dementia, but her memory didn't seem to fade. And this is the woman that was stealing the toys on the second floor. The one who moved in. But so there was a third family who lived up top who's telling and they started experiencing stuff when the second floor woman moved in. Complainer, toy stealing. Yeah. We've removed in one of the women on the third floor's daughters moved in with her a few months before they decided to move her into a nursing home. That was when things were getting really bad for my mom and for us. They began to see a large shadow figure looming in doorways. And the woman that my mom was in contact with who saw everything stated that apparently the same night my mother left with my brother and I just hours before that. They had found blood dripping from the walls and in a panic called a priest to come blessed the apartment. After that blessing, this thing did not go away. And the older lady's health began to decline. The older lady on the third floor. I just really want the blood to be tested. I know. There's only a few cases that we've heard of this happening. The bleeding house. And yeah,
Atlanta. Like, like, what is it? I don't know. So tragically, this woman from the third floor moved to a nursing home where she died a year later. After her death, the landlord apparently reported to them as he was a family friend of theirs that he evicted the woman in the second floor apartment after the new tenant and the basement apartment began to report blood dripping from their walls to and during an inspection, he found that this woman on the second floor had carved demonic sigils into the floorboards and attempted to cover them up with a rug. But when he flipped it over, it revealed the sigil. He cited property damage as his reasons for eviction and spent two years trying to renovate and fix that second floor apartment. But workers reported tools going missing, constant workplace accidents, and eventually the entire construction crew he hired refused to return. So he sold the entire apartment. It's just an apartment. It's not like his giant house to renovate. Well, it's like the, yes, they were renovating. But like, just the second floor that he was trying to fix. Eventually, he sold the entire apartment building. Then they tore
Oh my God. What a like landlord horror story too. Honestly, the company that he sold it to ended up tearing the whole building down. I'm not sure what it is now. But I know that whatever entities or demons that woman summoned, two of them stayed with me and my brother are whole lives. Mine is what we call the crawler. And my brother is a mimic entity, which I can share more experiences about later. Love your podcast. I'm so happy to get to join you on campfire stories and hope to see you on the other side. Next. It's not even dripping down because it was dripping. The third floor was experiencing blood dripping down their walls. It's not like it's coming from the second floor. Like what do you even say? You're like, there's like, it looks like blood. I don't
