Story Transcript:
Sl: Pomlad je bila v Ljubljani prelepa.
En: Spring in Ljubljana was beautiful.
Sl: Cvetovi so krasili ulice, mimoidoči so radovedno gledali izložbe, in sonce je prav prijetno grelo.
En: Flowers adorned the streets, passersby curiously looked at the shop windows, and the sun pleasantly warmed the air.
En: Vid was walking through Prešernov Square, his thoughts completely elsewhere.
Sl: Bil je zadnji mesec v šoli.
En: It was the last month of school.
En: Graduation was right around the corner, and thoughts about the future occasionally overwhelmed him like river waves.
En: Tina, his best friend, joined him with a juice in her hand.
Sl: "Vid, moraš biti navdušen za zaključek.
En: "Vid, you must be excited for the finish.
En: We're really moving to the next level!" she tried to cheer Vid up.
En: He smiled, but behind that smile hid many doubts.
En: "I don't know, Tina," he murmured, "to stay here or to go out into the world?
Sl: Slovenija mi je ljuba... a svet je velik."
En: Slovenia is dear to me... but the world is vast."
En: Vid's cousin Luka, who was always full of energy and plans, suddenly bounced past them.
Sl: Bil je skoraj zavisten Vidovih možnosti.
En: He was almost envious of Vid's opportunities.
En: "Vid, I've already been accepted to college here.
Sl: A ti lahko greš kjerkoli!
En: But you can go anywhere!
Sl: To je neverjetno!" je rekel z navdušenjem.
En: That's incredible!" he said with enthusiasm.
Sl: Vid je zavzdihnil.
En: Vid sighed.
Sl: Toliko možnosti, a tako malo časa.
En: So many possibilities, yet so little time.
En: The sense of responsibility towards family pulled him back, but his heart told him to venture abroad into the unknown.
En: "I give you advice," Tina said, "talk to your parents.
Sl: Mogoče te bodo njihovi odgovori presenetili."
En: Maybe their answers will surprise you."
En: And so that afternoon Vid came home, deciding to talk with his parents.
Sl: Njegova mama ga je poslušala z ljubeznijo, oči so bile modre in pomirjujoče.
En: His mother listened to him with love, her eyes blue and soothing.
En: Along with his father, they gave him the insight he needed.
En: "Whatever you decide, you'll always have a home here," his father said.
Sl: Na dan mature, z nasmehom in metuljčki v trebuhu, Vid ni mogel več skriti svoje nervoze.
En: On graduation day, with a smile and butterflies in his stomach, Vid could no longer hide his nervousness.
En: When his moment came to speak before the crowd, his thoughts aligned on their own.
Sl: Govoril je s strastjo: "Ne vemo vedno, kaj nas čaka.
En: He spoke with passion: "We don't always know what awaits us.
En: But courage is what allows us to embrace the unknown."
En: As he sat back in his seat, Vid felt lighter.
Domače in tiste po svetu.
En: His heart had decided: he would apply to various universities, both at home and abroad.
Sl: Sogovorniki so mu prižgali novo luč - luč možnosti.
En: His conversations had lit a new light for him - the light of possibilities.
Sl: Vidova glava je končno našla mir.
En: Vid's mind finally found peace.
Sl: Nič ni bilo še odločeno in to je bilo v redu.
En: Nothing was decided yet, and that was okay.
En: In a world of limitless opportunities, he realized that he can still choose his path when the time is right.
En: After all, being open to all possibilities is sometimes the greatest strength we have.
