Tony Hofmann spent 26 years serving in the Army with many of those years serving with the US Army Corps of Engineers as a commissioned officer before retiring as a Colonel. An advocate for military veterans, he has served as Board Chairman for Warriors’ Ascent, a non-profit that assists Veterans and First Responders suffering from Post Traumatic Stress. He is the Founder of “Team Leadville”, a high-altitude marathon team that raises funds for veteran causes. This group has raised over $216,000 to date. Tony is also a Fellow in the Society of American Military Engineers and a previous President of the Greater Kansas City Post. Also, Tony is an avid long distance runner and has completed the storied Boston Marathon 13 times (including 12 years straight) as well as the legendary Leadville 100 mile trail run (elevations to 12,600 feet) in addition to numerous other marathons/ultra marathons. He is the author of Embracing Grit: How a Flatland Veteran Conquered the Leadville 100 Ultramarathon. His purpose is simple: Inspire others to self-improvement through action and word.
