Elyjah Freeman Joins Texas, Boosts Postseason Hopes

0:00On April 19th, Elijah Freeman, the former Auburn forward, just committed to Texas out of the transfer portal. He's ranked as the number six small forward in this cycle. In his one year with the Tigers, he averaged 9.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists, even though Auburn missed the fee. NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2021. Before Auburn, Freeman lit it up at Lincoln Memorial as a freshman. There he dropped 18.9 points, grabbed 8.7 rebounds, and dished 3.2 assists per game. That earned him South Atlantic Conference freshman of the year, first team all conference, and all freshmen honors. Coming out of high school, he was unranked by rivals, but he's flipped the script with back-to-back college stops at high major SEC programs. Fans see this as a smart bounce back for a player-building serious momentum. Texas brings him into a program that hit the sweet 16 last season under first year coach, Sean Miller.
