Elias, 22 years old, started chatting with a decoy named "Laney", who was posing as a 14-year-old girl. He asked the decoy several graphic questions, including if she was a virgin and if she had ever had sex with her boyfriend. He questioned if she was a cop, that he didn't want to be in trouble, or go to jail. The two then plan a date to meet. Elias drove 2 and a half hours to the sting house with a rose, alcohol, and condoms. When he entered the sting house, Elias asked the decoy if she could come out.
