He has an M.Div. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, a D.Min. from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Southeastern Theological Seminary. He has written or co-written several books including the one mentioned earlier. He and his wife Karen have been married for over forty years. They have five children and six grandchildren.
