On March 26th, emergency services rushed to a busy junction in Royton this morning, March 26th, after a car struck a pedestrian. The crash happened at Middleton Road and Rochtdale Road, right near the co-op, involving a man in his 70s. The air ambulance touched down on nearby Hall Street as a safety measure, even though injuries turned out minor. Paramedics treated him right there on scene. Police quickly set up a cordon to manage the area and folks nearby wash as responders worked. One person on the ground described seeing the man in the road before ambulance crews took him to the hospital. The driver stuck around and cooperated fully with no arrest so far. Officials confirmed everything stabilized fast without major road closures. With the man safely in care and the scene cleared, Royton traffic is back to normal as police wrap up their review.
