Elderly Man Dies in Southside Alabama House Fire

The blaze broke out early Tuesday morning in Edoa County, destroying a double-wide manufactured home. A driver spotted the flames and called 9-11 just after 3.30am. Multiple fire departments rushed to the scene and worked to get the fire under control. Once the flames were out, first responders found Larry Pentecosts inside the home. The Atala County coroner ruled. His death was due to smoke and fire inhalation. Tragically, three dogs are also believed to have perished in the fire. The loss has sat in the local community.
