On March 5, a 24-year-old woman from Edinburgh lost her life in a head-on collision on the A-19 near Sunderland. Taylor Jenkins was a passenger in a white BMW that veered into the northbound lanes while heading south. The BMW slammed into a Volkswagen Sharan, sending the other driver to the hospital with minor injuries. Another passenger from the BMW, a man in his 20s, remains in critical condition. Her family shared their heartbreak, describing Taylor as someone whose kindness and joyful laugh touched everyone around her. They said she'll be deeply missed by all who knew her. Meanwhile, 24-year-old Kane Farricker from Birkenhead appeared in court, charged with causing death by dangerous driving driving while, disqualified and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
