When you do your bedtime work. We're spurs in the dark nightshows Then it's like a phantom's breath Where did they go? Only ghost, no mystery wrapped in cold, solid death Streets deserted and echoes call Footsteps fading to thin air Haunted tales that keep on crawling Life just vanishes no signs nowhere Gone without a trace when it's a morning Secrets hidden in the mist Steve Stockton's tales keep the fire burning A world where true's long reach

Hello friends, Steve Stockton here with you Welcome to our latest video Today we bring you another installment in our Land of the Lost series This time it's the disappearance of Adam Keldler Join us Now, in every missing person's case, the tragedy far out reaches the victim themselves It goes onto effects, at the very least, the victim's loved ones, friends and family members And at most, it captivates, breaks the heart, stuns and utterly baffles the minds of anyone who comes across that case Be it nationwide or worldwide, with the use of social media and the internet more and more these days Listening to the pain and earth's shattering heartbreak and heartache That comes along with having a loved one interviewed It's truly a horrific experience In fact, we as human beings, all of us being someone's son or daughter and all of us having people Blood related or not that we love dearly and fear ever having to live without

It's almost impossible to wrap our heads around the unending torment of having someone we care for and worry about turn up missing Looking in from the outside, many of us may even find it easy to see that, depending on the particular case being discussed The person is most likely deceased or has been abducted, trafficked, etc. But think about that in terms of it being your own child or your parent Best friend or sibling When would enough be enough? When would you give up hope? When would you give up the search and accept the fact that you most likely will never know what became of your loved one? Hopefully, these are things we never have to contemplate for longer than it takes to listen to a video about a particular or specific case Hopefully, these are questions that never have to personally touch or affect their lives The following is a case where it truly seems there is no other explanation except the person evaporated into thin air

And that seems to be the general consensus on this one Because he's still alive, did he take his own life? Was he abducted or did an accident or incident occurred much closer to home than anyone in that home cares to look at? Let's see what we can come up with Adam Christopher Kellner was born on May 3rd, 1973 However, he's been missing since November 8, 2007 And there really isn't much to go by as far as the last time he was seen It started out as a basic and ordinary day for Adam He lived at home in Stevenson Ranch, California with his mom, Sheryl Britain, and his stepfather Sheryl is an administrator at Loyola Marymount University He respected and regarded both professionally and personally in her community Adam was 34 years old at the time of his disappearance I was still living at home due to the fact he had previously been diagnosed as schizophrenic According to family members, like his mother, Sheryl, and his brother Doug, Adam was a parent-order violent in any way

He never had been, and in fact was quite kind and gentle in most of his dealings with other people He was a homebody with no real friends, someone who barely left the house except to go to his doctor's appointments And said by those who knew and best that Adam spent most of his time in the garage Chained smoking cigarettes or in his bedroom listening to music He was said to have been happy and content with his life and was pretty low maintenance The day Adam went missing, his mother was out of town on a business trip And just he and his stepfather were home at their house in Stevenson Ranch Which is near Los Angeles The stepfather was recovering from knee surgery and has since stated that the day was very difficult He said that Adam had helped him up the stairs the night before, get into bed And that he didn't notice until approximately three the next afternoon that Adam was missing Because he always stayed up all night and slept late in the day The family all agreed that Adam's childhood, he grew up in Miami, Florida, was fairly normal

And he didn't start having any emotional or mental problems until he was a young adult He failed out of college at Stetson University and that's when in 1994 he went to live permanently with his mother There was absolutely nothing in his history or even in the days leading up to the event That could have foretold that one day Adam would just be gone Poof, and not there anymore, with no rhyme or reason as to why and no answers at all as to where Where he could have possibly ended up, Adam basically left behind everything except to close on his back His identification, his keys, other clothing and personal items, including his cigarettes Were all up to house when Adam was found to be gone Adam had no vehicle and no driver's license He said only if had a couple dollars on him, if that, there was in no way prepared for any sort of trip He may no mention anyone going anywhere, and as previously stated he wouldn't leave his house for months at a time due to his mental problems And he was perfectly fine with this

Pricely may, his family were never able to think of a single instance that would account for Adam having just silently walked away His psychiatrist was interviewed and said he didn't think Adam would take his own life Authorities even interviewed local bus drivers and asked if any of them remembered picking Adam up that night and none of them remembered him at all So what could have happened to Adam Keller on that faithful and tragic day? Now, his mother and brother believe he is still alive somewhere and possibly has amnesia His mother stated she believes he hitched a ride out of the immediate area and is either still in California or that he may have somehow made his way back to where he spent his childhood And also where his brother still lives in Miami, Florida Both Cheryl and Adam's brother Doug believe the stigma of Adam's mental illness started the investigation into his disappearance from the start All the misconceptions about schizophrenia in the first place could have possibly caused leads to not be called in And some have speculated that the authorities themselves could have perhaps not taken the disappearance of such until it was far too late

Possibly even further hindering this already elusive case This was more than a shock for his loved ones as Cheryl stated he had been remarkably stable for years leading up to his disappearance If you have any information on the whereabouts of Adam Keller or what could have possibly happened to him way back in November of 2007 Please reach out to Detective Abraham or the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department at 323-890-5500 If you believe you have seen Adam or are aware of who or where he is now, please try your best to take a photograph for the family members to confirm Think about how you would feel if this was someone you loved You would want anyone to come forward with any little piece or scrap of information that could possibly lead to them coming home One way or another, let's help bring Adam home So what do you think of this strange disappearance? I look forward to your comments but ask you please be friendly and respectful

Till we meet again, take care of yourselves and each other Stay safe out there As for me, I'll see you a little farther on down the trail I'm Steve Stockton and I'll talk to you next time Hello friends, Steve Stockton here with you In this video, we bring you the strange case of Brandon Swanson On the night of May 13th, 2008, 19-year-old Brandon Swanson from Marshall, Minnesota Went out with some friends to have a few drinks and some fun It was a Tuesday night but Brandon had just completed his first year of Minnesota West Community and Technical College that day So he and his friends went to the nearby town of Lynn to hang out in Celebrity Between 1030 and 11pm, Brandon left the friends he originally set out with and drove to another friend's house in Canby to say goodbye to yet another friend His friends who were with him in Lynn said that when he got into his car to make the short drive, he wasn't intoxicated

Another witness who saw him that night all agree he was not by any means intoxicated when he arrived at the friend's house either They said he had one shot of whiskey and then left sometime after midnight to head back to Marshall Presumably, he was at at home with that point. The direct route from Canby to Marshall is a 30-minute drive on Highway 68 Technically, the next day on May 14th at around 1.30 in the morning, Brandon got his car stuck in a ditch along the gravel road He tried calling multiple friends for help but unfortunately no one answered the calls and Brandon remained stuck on the side of the road Around 1.54am, Brandon called his parents and told them where he was and what had happened and asked if they could come and get him as he needed a ride home His parents, Annette and Brian Swanson agreed to come and pick him up and ask where he was so they knew where to go to find him He told them he was between Marshall and Lynn and he assured them he wasn't injured at all but just wanted to get home When his parents arrived at the location Brandon had given them he wasn't there and was nowhere inside

His mother called him on his cell phone and the two decided to start flashing their lights to alert the other of where they were They all assumed at this point that they must have been very close to one another but were just missing the other somehow Annette could hear her son flashing his lights and she informed him she was doing the same She told him we're flashing our lights we're flashing our lights to which Brandon replied, don't you see me? Both Annette and Brandon were very frustrated at this point and Brandon ended up hanging up on his mother She immediately called him back with the intention of apologizing to him for getting worked up a bit herself Brandon answered and told his mother that he could see the town's lights referring to Lynn and that he was just going to start walking in the direction of town He told her to just meet him in the parking lot of a local tavern in the town of Lynn. She agreed to meet him there As his parents drove to the tavern they maintained contact with Brandon with Brian staying on the phone with him Brandon told his father he was going to cut through some fields to take a kind of shortcut and save some time on his trip since he was walking

Along the way Brandon was telling his father over the phone what he was seeing and passing He walked on gravel roads saw two fence lines and heard running water About 47 minutes into the call Brandon yelled oh shit and then the call disconnected Brian Swanson later said it sounded as though his son had fallen down or possibly slipped Brian and Annette tried repeatedly to call Brandon back but he never answered the phone again It was just ring and ring until sometime the next day when the call started going straight to voicemail and it was assumed that the phone had died Brandon Swanson hasn't been seen or heard from since the end of that faithful call with his father that night That same morning may 14th 2008 Brandon's parents called the police to report him as missing As it's usually the case the police didn't take the call very seriously and insisted that they wait a little while As it wasn't unusual for young men Brandon's age to go missing voluntarily for a bit without telling their parents

Later on in the day cell phone records for Brandon's phone were retrieved and they showed his last things were from near Porter Minnesota Which is about 25 miles away from where he seemed to have thought he was in Lynn There's no way the town he saw was Lynn Shortly before noon the authorities began their official search for Brandon At around 12.30 p.m. his vehicle a Chevrolet Lumina was found in a ditch bordering the towns of Lincoln and Yellow Medicine Lincoln County Sheriff Jack Masecki stated that the ditch was positioned where Brandon wouldn't have been able to gain any traction to be able to drive himself out of it There was no visible damage to the vehicle and no signs of foul play or injury at the scene In the months following his disappearance law enforcement conducted searches on horseback using ATVs and even foot searchers put to no avail They even utilized sniffer dogs and searched around and near several bodies of water The dogs ended up leading their handlers to the edge of the Yellow Medicine River which led authorities to come to the conclusion that Brandon had somehow followed into the water

This led them to a conduct extensive searches in the river but they came up empty every time Because of this they then concluded that if Brandon did indeed fall into the water he must have made his way back out of it at some point and didn't drown They believed he just got himself out of the river and continued on his way walking Their conclusion then was that he must have died of hypothermia due to the temperature dropping below 40 degrees on the night that he went missing Search dogs also alerted to human remains being near Mud Creek, however authorities never found any remains at all in this area, let alone Brandon's Authorities believed Brandon could have been anywhere within 122 square mile radius to the river Ten years after he seemingly disappeared into thin air, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff Bill flayed instead It's a huge area if you take that immediate area where the car was and then the time frame when he was talking on the phone with his parents who knows what direction he went and how far he traveled

A volunteer firefighter named Aaron E. Delzer came up with his own theory as to what could have happened to Brandon He took everything he had learned about the case and put it all together He noted that Brandon always wore glasses because he was legally blind in his left eye However, on the morning he went missing, he left his glasses in his car Based on Darren's theory, we can assume Brandon also left him in his car when he left it in the ditch to start walking to go and meet his parents and therefore wasn't wearing them the whole time he was on the phone with his folks that night He made a note of the fact that right before Brandon said, oh shit, I'm possibly slipped when the phone disconnected for the final time, he also said not another fence He concluded that Brandon must have fallen into an unmarked well or system which are very common in rural areas like the ones where Brandon went missing There are theories such as Brandon simply left on purpose and orchestrated the whole disappearance This theory of legitimacy is living under an assumed identity somewhere

Most people don't give this theory much credit as if you remember Brandon was calling his parents and several friends that night trying to find someone to help him It makes more sense he really was trying to get help that night and not trying to purposely disappear Theories of Brandon suffering some kind of nervous or mental breakdown also don't hold much water as his parents say he was lucid while on the phone with him And also that he had no history of any kind of mental illness The initial theory that he had drowned and the theory that followed stating that he may have made it back out of the water and then died of hypothermia has been highly criticized as well His phone was working for quite a while after the call with his father disconnected It's been said that if the phone had entered the water which it presumably would have since Brian was holding it when this theory states he went into the water It would have immediately started going to voicemail right away as it wasn't waterproof and would have been immediately broken Sure, some people counter that by saying that the phone could have fallen onto the ground when Brandon slipped into the water

But if that was the case then why was the phone never found? Remember there were extensive searches in and around all the bodies of water in a large area surrounding where Brandon's car was found And where he alleged he was the night he went missing So it's safe to assume here that the phone would have been found at some point. It simply wasn't All of the abandoned buildings in the area were also searched and no human remains and none of Brandon's personal facts were found in any of them This discredits the theory that Brandon might have sought refuge and shelter him one of them and died some other way while inside Yet another theory is that perhaps Brandon was involved in a hit and run or otherwise abducted and that his remains were disposed of by the perpetrators However, there's no evidence at all to prove this theory or that foul play was involved in any way in Brandon's case Brandon's parents believe their son's disappearance might have been solved had police immediately started investigating instead of telling them to wait it out for a while

There's no law that says there needs to be a waiting period for someone to be able to be reported dismissing However, unofficially of course, her already is usually given to cases where foul play is obvious where people are mentally or physically impaired and when younger children are involved A missing 18-year-old who disappeared after night out drinking with some friends just didn't seem too important to the police until hours after the fact and so much precious time had been wasted An ad in Brian Swanson proposed a law be written up in their son's name, Brandon's law, which would, quote, require law enforcement to take a missing person's report without delay after notification of someone missing under dangerous circumstances no matter the missing person's age Immediately conduct a preliminary investigation to determine if the person is missing and whether the person is in danger and promptly notify all other law enforcement agencies of the situation, end quote Brandon's law, which was sponsored by former House Minority Leader Marty Cyford and Senator Dennis Fredrickson, was signed into law by Minnesota's then-governor Tim Polini on May 7, 2009, the law officially went into effect on July 1, 2009

This still leaves one very big question though, what happened to Brandon Swanson? How could he have been so off about who he was when he was telling his parents he was near Lynn and they were flashing their lights at each other but not seeing one another? What led him to yell the expletive into the phone and hang up? Why wasn't his phone or any of his other belongings ever found? There has literally been no trace of him since the last time he was heard shouting into the phone that faithful night These are all questions we may never know the answers to but that doesn't ever mean we should stop asking the hard questions As always, our hearts, prayers and thoughts go out to the loved ones of not only Brandon Swanson but the countless others who have seemingly vanished off the face of this earth without a trace Well folks, there you have it, what do you think of this unusual disappearance? I look forward to your comments but please keep it firmly in respect Meanwhile, we could yourselves and each other, I'll see you just a little farther on down the trail

I'm Steve Stockton and I'll talk to you next time Hello friends, Steve Stockton here with you Welcome to our latest video This time we bring you another episode in our Land of the Lost series, spotlighting the strange disappearance of Dale Dinwitty. Join us I'd like to preface this episode by saying the case was suggested to us by my friend and fan of the channel Samantha Phyps Samantha writes, I'm an avid fan of your shows who never forgot Dale's disappearance and hope to see it solved for Dale's family Even though I've lived away from the area since 1996, I'm a Colombian native and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 85 I was in grad school there around the time of Dale's disappearance My college friends and I spent lots of time in five points then It has haunted so many of my old friends and myself because we can all relate to Dale

It could have been any one of us but here we are We got to live our adult lives and Dale did, sad memory indeed On September 24, 1992, 24-year-old Dale Dinwitty was attending a YouTube concert in the five points region of downtown Columbia, South Carolina with some friends As the concert wound down and people were leaving, Dinwitty became separated from her friends that had left a few minutes prior to go to a bar She went to the club and one of the club's bouncers helped her look for her friends before she left the establishment and headed north on Harden Street She hasn't been seen since, launching one of the longest searches and the oldest active missing person case in Columbia's history Dale Dinwitty was just 24 years old when she went missing Having just graduated with her bachelor's degree in art history, Dinwitty was making plans to attend the University of South Carolina to get her graduate degree After returning from college, Dinwitty moved in with her parents while waiting to attend USC

Friends were anxious to spend time with the social butterfly and this was one of the first outings she had gone on since being home Arriving at the Williams-Brice Stadium, the group enjoyed the band and conversation and just being with one another Dinwitty was said to be in good spirits and had a great time After the U-2 concert was over, around 11-15, the group made their way to a bar called Jungle Gyms This is where things would go terribly wrong Everyone made it to the bar and at first was having a great time But as the night progressed, the group became separated from Dinwitty It's been about 15 minutes looking for but decided that she must have gotten a ride from someone she met at the establishment or maybe even called her parents to come and pick her up Neither of these were true though When she arrived at the club, she asked a bouncer if he had seen her friends and upon learning he hadn't, she left that establishment and was on foot walking north through the five points area toward the intersection of hardened and green streets and was never seen again

The initial search for Dinwitty was extensive and police followed over a thousand leads There was no crime scene and that makes investigations all the more difficult Many suspects were questioned, including Ronaldo, Javier Ray Rivera Who at the time of questioning was on death row for the multiple murders of four other women, one of whom was a police officer Major leads were followed but none of them led to any solid answers nor suspects The longer the case lingered, the more rumors and theories arose from those following the case One theory was one that we've all heard that Dinwitty ran off to start a new life This theory is investigated often in a lot of missing person cases and often leads to important details being overlooked early on in cases Dinwitty was a very responsible 24-year-old that had major plans to attend graduate school If her plan was indeed to run away and start a new, many family members and friends dismissed this idea because she would never make her loved one's worry

In the beginning, Dale's case was treated as a kidnapping The authorities told the media at that time there was nothing in her background to indicate that she would deliberately go away Her family and friends agreed even going as far as to state that she was a cautious person who did not like to be out alone Suffering from severe asthma and needing an inhaler to control the symptoms along with bi-weekly allergy injections Her medication was not taken with her the night she went out with her friends This fact alone was enough to lead investigators to dismiss in what he had left by her own volition The next and most probable theory is that Dinwitty was kidnapped and murdered The question is, though, by whom? Was it a stranger from the bar where she was inadvertently left behind by her friends? Or maybe a stranger that saw the young woman walking alone a crime of opportunity? Or was it someone she knew? This last suggestion has been the most popular by the people that were closest to Dale

The two main sub-theories from this suggestion is that it was either someone she knew or someone that perhaps had been stalking for a long period of time Learning her habits and waiting to see an opportunity where she would be alone The area where Dale was visiting when she disappeared was very busy with party goers, students, bar patrons and others All mingling before having to return to campus or home at night's end This is one of many reasons of stranger abduction would have been hard for someone to pull off unnoticed However, it's unknown how far Dinwitty made it before she disappeared or even where she was going There was only a general direction given by the last person that saw her which was north towards the intersection of hardened and green streets Having directly dismissed the idea that Dinwitty would have willingly gotten into the stranger's car no matter how desperate she was to get home Her family and friends cling to the idea that it was a person she knew as the most likely theory This theory, however, comes with its own issues

If she accepted a ride from a friend or even an acquaintance, someone would have most likely recounted seeing her get into a car as the area was so busy But with all the people questioned and that came forward with tips, no one saw anything Has also been suggested that an acquaintance abduction would have been inconspicuous because there wouldn't have been a struggle or seen caused by Dinwitty and her would be a doctor An investigator close to the case stated, I'm leaning more towards a stranger abduction in Dale's case, regardless of how rarely are I'm wondering how the perpetrator got around the busy area without being seen Suspects in the disappearance of Dale Dinwitty were all questioned, but the best suspect was the one previously mentioned, Ronaldo Javier Ray Rivera Because he was a known serial killer, he had admitted to killing four women in Georgia and was living in the area at the time of Dinwitty's disappearance Rivera was a student at the University of South Carolina in 1992

These facts alone made Rivera a strong suspect, but there were no clues, no evidence, and obviously no confession Rivera was sentenced to death for the killing of a police officer and three life sentences for the subsequent killings of three other women Some have suggested that Rivera was merely an easy suspect as he was already in prison and was a known serial killer Of the hundreds of tips that flowed into the police related to the Dinwitty case, none have led to any useful clues to break this cold case Investigators have even taken directives from a psychic that led them to a pond where a car was indeed pulled from its murky water, but it had no connection to the case Other tips have seen deer bones excavated and search teams even used ground penetrating radar to look for abnormalities underground Another call that reported a foul odor coming from a home near the area where Dinwitty was last seen led to an entire floor of a home being torn out, but frustratingly nothing was found

The case continued to grow cold Then in 2019, approximately 27 years after the disappearance of Dale Dinwitty, the disappearance and subsequent murder of another USC student would open back up those painful wounds and memories of Dinwitty's case and bring it back into the spotlight On March 29, 2019, 21-year-old Samantha Josephson was in the five points area in downtown Columbia, the same area Dale Dinwitty went missing from When she was last seen getting into a black Chevy Impala, thinking the car was her override Josephson entered the car and never returned home that night When she did arrive home by 2 a.m., her roommates knew something was wrong and filed a missing person's report the following day, Friday March 30 Later that same day, the county's sheriff's deputies received report of a woman's body found by turkey hunters in her remote forest outside a town The body was identified as the missing USC student, Samantha Josephson

She had been stabbed over 120 times and left in the field where she was found On Sunday, March 31, her killer was caught and arrested Nathaniel Rowan was charged with kidnapping and murder He was subsequently convicted on both charges and sentenced to life in prison This case was a painful reminder of the still unsolved case of Dale Dinwitty to the many friends and family members that deserve answers Then in September of 2020, another rumor about Dinwitty's case made its way through the area of her disappearance like wildfire The she had been found and the almost 30-year-old case would finally come to an end There were whispers in the community that a man was questioned and arrested in connection with the case Suddenly, dozens of calls but at the state and local police agencies asking about the arrest After examining the tips provided and calls made, however, these rumors were laid to rest And Richland's Police Department released a statement saying that there is no new information on this missing person case

They also added the investigation action will not change until she is found Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is close to the family and keeps him surprised of any new tips that come in He says, I can see the pain in their eyes and hear it in their voices But they are still focused and that has fueled us The Police Department has tracked every lead even traveling as far as Las Vegas and Minnesota to speak with people that claim to know something about the Dinwitty disappearance These tips were either criminals trying to cut a deal for themselves or people just lying for unknown reasons Now when I insert a disclaimer here, this section that I'm about to go into is in no way an accusation against South Carolina lawyer Harry Gregory This video is intended to state the facts as we know them and as they've been reported by law enforcement, investigators, media, family, news outlets, and other online articles and videos

We are not responsible for the opinions of the reporting parties Please do not harass anyone named in this video, not the victim, anybody accused, family or otherwise And please be respectful in the comments section regarding the parties involved Especially victims and their family members because they do occasionally watch the stories reported on this channel In the fall of 2020, a case of forced intimate contact was reported to the South Carolina sled that's the state law enforcement division The female that reported the case told the detective when the assault happened that the man who assaulted her told her you remind me of Dale Dinwitty Now this chilled the victim's blood, the man that allegedly made that remark, none other than Columbia, South Carolina lawyer that was just arrested in connection to a forced intimate contact with minor's investigation, Harry Gregory Now Gregory has since been charged with multiple counts of committing lood acts on a minor in 2002 and again in 2004

This case has been turned over to Attorney General Alan Wilson This tip was never referred to investigators of the Dinwitty case because the investigators taking the victim's statement didn't believe this one piece of statement to be credible, even though the rest of the statement was believed to be true The news outlet that published this update was supposedly given the reasons why police reached this decision but declined to share them along with the name of the victim as his customary Several community members of Midlands area were asked what they thought caused the rate on the attorney's house on March 18, 2021 and unequivocally it was said the Dinwitty case comment made by the new victim Harry Gregory's home was served to the search warrant on the early morning hours of March 18, 2021 Police were reluctant to say exactly what they were looking for Other females have accused Gregory from being demanding all the way to allegations of sadism When asked if they thought he was capable of these actions against Dale Dinwitty, a resounding yes was heard by those interviewed

Gregory was also accused of marital physical assault and has been divorced for years The facts of this pertaining to this accusation regarding Dale Dinwitty are follows Number one, Gregory was in the Columbia South Carolina area at the time of the Dinwitty disappearance Number two, his residence is just a few blocks away from where Dinwitty lived at the time Number three, it's been stated by witnesses that Gregory was known to frequent the five points district looking for younger women Just want to point out again here, there is nothing connecting South Carolina attorney Harry Gregory to the Dale Dinwitty case other than the statement reported to law enforcement by the new victim as stated previously However, sources close to this case state that police do not typically raid homes of accused defendants over 20 year old forced intimate contact cases Therefore, people are speculating that the comment made by the victim about Dale Dinwitty had something to do with the raid on Harry Gregory's home on March 18th, 2021

There's currently a $20,000 reward offered for information leading to Dinwitty square baths Dale Dinwitty was five feet tall, had brown hair brown eyes and weighed 96 pounds She was last seen wearing a green pull over shirt, a blue nylon LL bean jacket tied around her waist, faded jeans and tennis shoes One finger on each of her hands has a noticeable curve She was last seen leaving Jungle Jim's bar which is now closed in the five points area of downtown Columbia, South Carolina Our mother Jean Dinwitty has asked her people to rethink anything you saw that didn't seem that unusual to time But may now looking back on it be a little unusual would you please talk to your friends and friends of friends who were there on that night Maybe someone who remembers something that could help us find Dale If you have any information no matter how insignificant it may seem on either of these cases we mentioned here

Please contact the Columbia Police Department at 803-545-3500 or crime stoppers at 888-274-6372 or you can contact your local law enforcement agency There you have it friends I look forward to reading your comments about this strange disappearance and let me remind you again Please keep it friendly and respectful it's most likely the family will be listening to this In the meanwhile be good to yourselves and each other stay safe out there and I'll see you just a little farther on down the trail I'm Steve Stockton and I'll talk to you next time The disappearance of Laura Bradbury Now according to the National Park Service they have no database that they maintain to track missing people in the parks Nothing interconnected throughout the parks and very little even on an individual level

This is why nobody knows exactly or even around how many people are still missing or have gone missing in the national parks throughout the country That's right no database and very little information exists on the missing person cases that occur within park grounds Despite many of the disappearances that can be labeled as very strange Here's another one from Joshua Tree National Park in California that happened decades ago and nothing has ever come of it Here's the sad disappearance of Laura Bradbury On October 18th 1984 Laura Bradbury then three and a half years old was on a camping trip with her family in Joshua Tree National Park at the Indian cove campground Laura's parents, Patty and Michael visited the park regularly and were offered a deal of some kind by the park services They were a family of five and trying to squeeze in a tiny two bedroom condo but always had fun together nonetheless and didn't expect this trip to be any different from so many others before it

Laura went to the park's public restrooms with her eight year old brother Travis and stayed outside while he went in to do his business He reported that when he came back out Laura was not there waiting for him as she should have been and she had seemingly vanished into thin air altogether The search effort was immediately put together which included over 250 searchers, helicopters, dogs and even horses all coming through the Joshua Tree National Park and its surrounding areas One of the sniffer dogs followed Laura's scent for about two miles but then lost it and no other clues were found as to where the toddler might have gone The official search was called off after only three days Laura's family organized a massive search of their own, refusing to give up as easily and as quickly as the official search career seemed to It was a massive effort and millions of flyers and t-shirts with Laura's likeness on them were distributed all over the area in and outside of the park proper The Brad Berries had very high hopes that Laura could and eventually would be found alive And they appeared on radio and television talk shows in an effort to help Laura's disappearance reach a much wider audience and a much larger area of the country

The disappearance or at least what they knew had happened was very enacted twice on national news media outlets A tip hotline was set up and a national search was soon underway as a result of all the family's hard work and dedication Laura was one of the first children to ever be featured on the side of a milk carton as well Despite all this, however, it seems their dedication may have been in vain little Laura was never found Witnesses came forward to report having seen a man in his 50's driving a metallic blue van at the same campground Lauren her family were staying at right before she disappeared A man with the same description was seen several hours later near Burns Canyon This man was said to have been bearded and potbellied and the sheriff's even had several of these eyewitnesses hypnotized in order to see if they could obtain any additional information from them This unorthodox approach also led nowhere however and the man in the van matching the description never came forward or was identified Mike Bradbury, little Laura's father lost faith in the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department

who was initially running the investigation into his daughter's disappearance He claimed the Sheriff's Department didn't do enough to try and follow up on many of the tips that came into the tip line or otherwise about the case in general He told reporters they were either lazy and competent or both Mike went so far as alleged that someone in the Sheriff's Department knew that Laura had in fact been kidnapped and they were purposely sabotaging the investigation as part of a major cover-up He thought they wouldn't want the bad publicity that would have come with a toddler having been kidnapped from a popular vacation destination for families like Joshua Tree National Park Two men named Clifford Leville and Toby Santangelo had come forward to the Sheriff's Department with information on a man that they said they knew would kidnapped Laura Bradbury Mike got wind of this and this is when most of his contempt for the office of the Sheriff started He also thought the authorities gave up the official search way too quickly The police claimed that they had checked out the man brought forth by Toby and Clifford and found the information to be not credible

Is it only a coincidence then that not long after coming forward with this information, both Clifford and Toby were shot and killed mysteriously? Both of them were gunned down by an unknown suspect Mike Bradbury hired a private investigator and together they continued to search through many of the isolated areas surrounding Joshua Tree They even brave the areas known to be riddled with crime and drugs and hopes that they would obtain some sort of information or idea as to what had happened to little Laura or even where she was Two years later, in 1986, a skull was found near the west entrance to the park which was two miles away from the Bradbury's campground that faithful day when Laura disappeared Although some conflicting reports say it was five miles from the original campsite However, DNA results were inconclusive and the experts couldn't even tell the gender of the child or blood type In fact, all they could tell was that it was a child, a child of unknown age, gender and blood type The captain in the Sheriff's Department said that he believed wholeheartedly that the skull was indeed Laura Bradbury's and even speculated publicly as to what may have happened to her

His opinion was that Laura must have somehow gotten distracted while waiting for a brother outside the public toilet and wandered off Not paying much attention, as toddlers usually aren't, she fell down and was immediately buried in collapsing sand Quick sand! That was his big theory This unnamed captain went on to say that the only reason the skull was eventually found was because it must have recently been dug up by mountain lion or some other type of wild animal In 1999, using new DNA technology, the skull was retested and this time was found to be with a 99% likelihood of a match, Laura's skull after all Patty Bradbury, Laura's mom, passed away in 2001 A nine years later, Laura's father Mike wrote a book about his daughter's disappearance called Laura Ann Bradbury, a father's search Michael Bradbury first tried in October of 2009 and has continued ever since to have his daughter skull transferred from the coroner's office to a proper mortuary But he has thus far been unable to claim the only remains of his little girl due to the fact that a death certificate has never been issued for Laura

In an interview in 2010, Mike was shown 40 color 35 millimeter slides of what was found to be his daughter's skull He was shocked by what he saw and claimed that this was the skull of a full grown person and not the same skull, one obviously the size of a child's head that he was shown all those years ago by the sheriff's office when it was first found He stated, my wife and I were shown a smaller three inch skull cap in around 1986 or 87 that the sheriff's claim was Laura's skull He continued, the two skulls are totally dissimilar, they looked nothing like each other I wonder now, what or whose skull they showed me then, and why? Mike also brought forth reports on the skull which conflicted with what was initially released publicly These new reports which Mike chose to set store by claimed that the original tests were inconclusive at best In fact, they showed only one in four of the original DNA tests performed on the skull matched the DNA samples that were taken from Laura's mother

He claimed even the hair taken from Laura's own hairbrush didn't match the DNA that was taken from the skull The only remains Michael knew of that were believed to be his little girl were two partial skull bones He stated, I'm very anxious to put closure to this terrible period of my life All I want is justice for my daughter, that's all I care about The sad case of the disappearance of little Laura Bradbury, just like countless other disappearances which occur in and around their national parks, remains unsolved to this day And no one has ever been named a suspect or held accountable in the least for it What could have happened to the little girl in such a short period of time? Is it at all possible she wanted off and having realized she was lost walked for two more miles and... And then what? Her scent and trail just stopped. Did she just vanish into thin air? Was she abducted once she went past the two mile point? We just don't know and may never have the answers Were the investigators indeed involved in some sort of cover up as Mike Bradbury accused?

What would they have been covering up? Could it have been something to do with what really happened to little Laura in the mysterious and sometimes cruel wilderness of Joshua Tree National Park? Was that Laura's skull that was found? If not, who's was it? And why would the investigators show a different skull to the Bradbury's on two different occasions in the investigation as is also alleged by Mike? Sadly, Laura's mother never received any closure before she passed away with what happened to her daughter. As of this recording, no one else has any new information either. As always, we pray for justice, closure and peace for this family, and we'll continue reporting with any updates provided there are any to report. If you have any information on the disappearance of Laura Bradbury, please contact your local authorities. Hello friends, Steve Stockton here with you. Welcome to episode number 18 of our strangest unsolved National Park Disappearances series, where we present 10 more cases for you to ponder.

Now there are more than 84 million acres of forest, deserts, mountains and other wilderness preserves within the United States National Park system. So as a result, shouldn't be surprising that missing person cases have increased over the last century. What's more, there's a disturbing trend of these numbers increasing, fast, and sometimes the circumstances behind these disappearances is incredibly bizarre. Today, we'll discuss 10 more of these unsolved National Park Disappearances. Please note that some of the cases have very limited information, but we'll do our best to keep you updated with any new developments in future episodes. With that said, let's walk and see. Number 10, Mitchell Dale Staling. What should have been a quick and relaxing hike to this Bruce Treehouse in the Mesa Verde National Park in the summer of 2013? Quickly transformed into a nightmare for the Staling family. On June 9, 2013, 51-year-old Mitchell Staling, who commonly went by his middle name Dale, his wife Dina and Mitchell's parents were on the tour of the National Parks and the West.

With some time left over, the group headed to Mesa Verde National Park. After all, Dale had always dreamed of visiting the park and wanted to see what Colorado has the state had to offer. According to the National Park Service, the Mesa Verde National Park's trails are mostly difficult and strenuous, and the park is also the ancestral and sacred home to 26 tribes in the area. The park is described as hot and arid, and is not for the faint of heart. The Mesa Verde National Park Rangers are committed to the preservation of the cultural sites of indigenous tribes, and as such, it's illegal to hike off trail. The NPS website is filled with warnings, cautions, and information, reminding prospective hikers just how dangerous the park can be. Initially, the plan was for Dale, Dina, and his parents to drive to an overlooked point where they could safely take in the scenery of the park from the safety of their camper. Dale was known to friends and family as a keen outdoorsman, and while the three others with him that day wanted to stay inside the camper, he wanted to explore.

At around 4.30 p.m., Dale left the group, telling them that he was going to hike down the quarter of a mile trail to this first tree house, which is filled with heritage items. His family waived him goodbye, thinking he would be back soon, but unfortunately, Dale never returned. After two hours of painfully ticked by with no sign of Dale, his family went to the nearest park ranger station to report him missing. Soon after, a wide-scale search for Dale was underway with park rangers and volunteers scouring the park for any sign of him. During the initial investigation, witnesses recalled seeing Dale on the Petroglyph Point Trail, a trail that is described as strenuous by the NPS. This group told investigators that Dale seemed fine and in good spirits, and this is the last confirmed sighting of him. The Petroglyph Point Trail runs in an intersection with the trail to the spruce tree house, and Deanin, and Deanin, Dale's wife, believed that he may have wandered off course with the heat and lack of water affecting his better judgment.

In the first 24 hours of Dale's disappearance, more than 70 people, plus search dogs and helicopter teams joined in the search effort. However, after just two days, the search effort was scaled back. Now this scaling back of the operation, understandably upset Dale's family, however park rangers confirmed that they did continue to search for Dale and hadn't given up, just as the search was being conducted more conservatively. As the months passed, Dale's family held out hope that he would be found and reunited with him, but as the first anniversary of his disappearance came, they knew that he was more than likely deceased. Deanin, Dale's parents, and everyone else who knew Dale never gave up their search form, and it wouldn't be until September 2020 that they would finally get answers. In a press release in late 2020, the National Park Service confirmed that the remains of Mitchell Dale Stelling have been discovered on September 17, 2020, around 4.2 miles from where he was last seen.

According to the release, an anonymous tip submitted, an anonymous tip submitted to us led to the discovery of human remains in remote area of the park, not accessible to the public. U.S. park rangers and ISB special agent and personnel from Montezuma County Corners Office located and covered the remains on September 17, 2020. Days after the remains had been discovered, they were identified as indeed belonging to Mitchell Dale Stelling who had disappeared in 2013. Unfortunately, the National Park Service has not released a manner or cause of death at this time, and it appears that they have since closed the investigation. They have stated that they do not believe that Dale met with foul play, but are refusing to say anything further on the matter. Rest in peace, Dale. And our condolences to your family. Number nine, Kenny Miller. In 1982, the Miller family, a Fresno, California, were struck with tragedy when their only son, two-year-old Kenny, was struck by meningitis.

Kenny barely survived, and as a result was left with excessive brain swelling that hampered his development greatly. Unfortunately, as Kenny grew older, it became obvious to the doctors and his parents that the bout of meningitis had done long-term damage, and Kenny was left with the mental faculties of a four-year-old child, of a four-year-old child by the age of 12. However, Sharon and Bob Miller were determined to do anything they could to help their only son and work to enrich his life in whatever way they could. One LA Times article mentions that both the Miller's work to schoolteachers, and were determined not to shut their son away, but to get him into the outdoor world. Following Kenny's illness, his mother, Sharon, had even gone back to school to obtain a degree in speech therapy so that she could help her son recover. In June 1992, the Miller's decided to take Kenny hiking in the Sierra Nevada and into the O'Simuthy National Park.

What should have been a happy occasion for the Miller's quickly turned into a tragedy, and just ten years after they'd almost lost their son for the first time, they would lose him again. According to Sharon and Bob, Kenny was happily throwing stones into the creek, giggling and keeping himself occupied. Also on that trip was Kenny's little sister, and it said that the three turned away for what would be a matter of seconds. Within the blink of an eye, as they turned back around, Kenny was gone. They hoped that he had merely wondered off after seeing an animal or maybe a shiny rock nearby, but as they began to search for him, their worst fears were confirmed. While Kenny was active and lively, his abilities meant that he was not like your normal 12-year-old boy, and his parents knew that. Minutes after the Miller said discovered that Kenny was missing, Bob was seen running through the Pacific Crest Trail, asking anyone if they had seen his son while also keeping an eye out for his beloved Kenny.

People listened to Bob as he explained his situation and offered to lend a helping hand. As darkness fell, Bob, Sharon, and volunteers kept looking for Kenny, and by the next morning, even more volunteers had poured on to the Pacific Crest Trail to look for the little boy. Sharon later told the LA Times, when that bus load arrived, I can't tell you how that made us feel. People who I didn't even know had come up to search for my son. We were very, very overwhelmed. The same article detailed how around 1 a.m. that morning, over 50 people had filed onto the bus, set for Lake Tahoe on the Pacific, set for Lake Tahoe on the Pacific Crest Trail where the millers were located. Volunteers, the Alpine County Sheriff's Office, and the Alpine County Sheriff's Office, and the Madera County Sheriff's Office. Continue to search for Kenny, but there was just no sign of him.

Weeks passed without any news, and the millers slowly began to lose hope. Then, just a month after Kenny disappeared, his family were hit with a tragic news. On a ridge near Steven's Peak, close to my Smedo, Lake Kenny's body. The ridge upon which Kenny was found was described as rocky terrain at about 9,800 feet elevation. To this day, nobody's ever been able to explain how Kenny made it up there by himself. Unfortunately, the recovery of his remains were hindered due to bad weather, with the LA time supporting. California Highway Patrol helicopter crew tried to retrieve the body early in the day, but the craft was unable to land because of high winds. Kenny's official cause of death was listed as exposure. Kenny's official cause of death was listed as exposure, but there are very few articles pertaining to his disappearance. His family were understandably devastated by the news and the loss of their only son.

Many people believe that there is no way Kenny could have made it up into an area filled with rocky terrain and large thick bushes. Is there something nefarious behind Kenny's disappearance? Although it seems likely, it also seems likely that we'll never know. Rest in peace, Kenny, and our condolences to the family. Number eight, Dennis Martin. June 14, 2020 marked the 53rd anniversary of the vanishing of a little six-year-old boy, Dennis Lloyd Martin. Dennis was the life of his parents' lives, and what should have been a happy, joyful father's day in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park quickly turned into a nightmare for the Martin family. On June 13, 1969, William Martin entered the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with his two sons, Douglas and Dennis, and his father Clyde. Martin's were embarking on what had been a longstanding family tradition for father's day with the group planning to camp a night.

As they entered the park, the group first hiked from Cade's Cove to Russell Field where they pitched their tents and settled in for the night. This first night went without a hitch, and Martin's men gathered around the fire, eating the food they prepared with the two adults telling the children stories. It wasn't just the Martin's at the camp, though. Family, friends, and extended family had joined them in their tradition. Family, friends, and some extended family had joined them in their tradition, and everyone was excited to get a good night's sleep after the long day of hiking. When the sun rose on June 14, 1969, William Martin had no idea that within a few hours his entire world would be turned upside down. After packing up their gear and setting their course, the group headed to Spence Field, which is located close to the Appalachian Trail. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park spans 5,222,427 acres, and some of the trails are very difficult. Nevertheless, Dennis reportedly kept up to the adults and even surprised some with his hiking abilities.

As the group near Spence Field, everyone gazed on an amazement, taking in the beauty and sheer size required a lay before them. While the adults took in the scenery, some of the children, including Douglass and Dennis, decided that they wanted to play a prank on the adults. According to the National Park Service case file, according to Douglass Martin, the boys decided to sneak up and surprise the adults. Douglass and the other two boys went south and then west and came upon the adults while Dennis went northwest, as it were, and intended to come upon the adults from a north and south direction. The time the boys parted was the last time Dennis was seen. As Dennis split away from his brother, the two had no idea it would be the last time they would see each other. An innocent child's prank, unfortunately, turned into a manhood. In 53 years on, we are still no closer to the truth. As Douglass and the other children flanked the adults from the south, they eagerly awaited Dennis from the north, but he never showed. At first, they thought he could be waiting for the perfect time to strike, but as the minutes passed and there was no sign of him, they began to panic.

Dennis Sapsons was immediately noted by the adults in Spence Field, and after listening to the children recall their story, the search for little Dennis began. William Clyde and the other adults with him ran through Spence Field, shouting Dennis name, hoping that this was all part of their joke. At the time of disappearance, Dennis was wearing a red shirt, which provided a stark contrast to the lush greenery around him. The group tore through the weeds, the trees, dodging rocks, looking high and low for the boy. When the group had no luck, they knew they had to take drastic action. Another group had radios or telephones, as in this was 1969. So Clyde, Mrs. grandfather, hiked nine miles to the nearest park ranger station to report his grandson missing. He then hiked the additional nine miles back, all while shouting his grandson's name and hoping to see the red t-shirt and see a green that surrounded him. The park rangers spring into action and began assembling a team to look for the little boy.

In the NPS report into Dennis disappearance, the park service notes heavy rainstorms and thunderstorms moved in around dark and greatly hampered search activity. Reciputation was estimated to be 2.5 inches or more in the Spence Field area. All local stereoms were high and turbulent. The park rangers and the Martins battled through the tumultuous weather and began planting their search efforts for the next day. The NPS report into Dennis disappearance notes the chief ranger set up the following plans for the morning. One crew of 30 men with five liters. Ten crews of two to four men with ten liters set up at a camp at Spence Field. Obtain a helicopter if possible. It appears that every effort was made to locate Dennis and in total over 1,400 showed up to help look. The search for Dennis Martin turned out to be the biggest search effort in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park's history. The search for Dennis Martin turned out to be the biggest search effort in the Great Smoky Mountain Park's history.

But even with hundreds of men at their disposal, investigators failed to find any sign of the little boy. By June 20th 1969. Dennis 7th birthday had come around and his family were left to celebrate the occasion without him. The search for Dennis continued with new volunteers and search and rescue personnel flooding into the park each day to help find him. The only possible clue discovered was a footprint. However, many investigators have said that the footprint was actually caused by Boy Scout who was helping look for Dennis. There was a sock and a shoe found but there was no correlation between the sock and the shoe and Dennis ever made. With thousands of man hours under their belt, investigators knew the outlook was bleak for little Dennis Martin. After two weeks of searching high and low for Dennis, the authorities made the tough decision to scale back their efforts. The search would still continue for Dennis well into late 1969, just not at the scale that it had been operating at before.

Dennis' parents, understandably heartbroken, offered a $5,000 reward which in today's money would be about $40,000 for any information that led to their son's whereabouts. This reward made it appear as though Dennis had possibly been kidnapped. But the authorities confirmed that there was no evidence to support this theory. In fact, there is little evidence to work with in Dennis' case and to this day the search for little Dennis Martin remains the largest ever search and rescue in the history. Remains the largest ever search in the history of the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. Over the years, several leads of a risen, such as the lead, such as the lead discovered in the first few years after Dennis disappeared. The Knoxville News reported that a Jensen hunter found the skeletal remains of a young child while he was out foraging.

However, due to the illegal nature of his Jensen gathering, this anonymous man never reported his findings to the police, a fear that he would be arrested. It was until almost 20 years later, in 1985, that this man finally came forward and told someone what he had found. Unfortunately, by the time investigators and searchers managed to scour the area, their remains were either gone or hadn't been there in the first place. This lead has never been confirmed by investigators and nothing has ever come of it since. The disappearance of Dennis leaves us with three main theories and some are more chilling than the others. The first and most straightforward theory is that Dennis wondered too far from the group and became lost. To a child, the endless lines of trees and rocks can be incredibly confusing. The endless lines of trees and rocks can be incredibly confusing, and before you know it, you know where near where you started. After getting lost, Dennis could have passed you an exposure in the lack of food and water.

If Dennis had gotten lost, how search and rescue crews not found his body as they were scouring the area. 1,400 people, as we stated, joined in on the search, with helicopters and several different agencies offering their assistance. So it seems like it would have been hard for them to miss him. This leads us on to the second... This leads us on to the second theory, abduction. In the aftermath of Dennis' disappearance, his parents put up a $5,000 reward for information, despite the fact that there was no evidence to suggest Dennis had been taken. Harold Key, who was hiking with his family at the time of Dennis' disappearance, recalled investigators that on the afternoon Dennis disappeared, he heard a sickening scream and also saw a stranger. And also saw a strange-looking man darting through the woods before jumping into a white car and speeding away. Did the key family hear Dennis being kidnapped? If so, who was the man with a white car, and why did he take Dennis?

Was this a crime of opportunity, or had this bizarre man been following the family and plotting his crime? Well, the abduction theory also ties into another bizarre theory that floats around online. Some people believe that Dennis was kidnapped by a strange cannibalistic group who hid themselves deep into the park to avoid detection. Again, there's no evidence to support this theory, and yet it seems to be another bizarre online conspiracy surrounding a cold case. The final theory was that Dennis was attacked by a wild animal, such as a bear, which may explain the blood-curdling scream that the key family heard that afternoon. But with no physical evidence recovered from the scene, it's hard to say for certain what happened to little Dennis Martin. Father's Day is now a somber time for the Martin family, a time for reflection and remembrance. While reading through the National Park Service File on Dennis' case, which is available on the NPS website, we came across an interesting page.

On page 61 of the report is a long-distance telephone call record dated July 23, 1970, a year after Dennis disappeared. The log is about a call from the Chief of Police, Hugh Wells, to Chief Ranger Sneddon. The message reads, Chief Wells said he received an anonymous phone call from a woman, stated that about three weeks ago she had seen the Martin child in a white automobile with Tennessee license plates, did not get the number, on Cecil Street in Knoxville, Tennessee. She said that the man driving the car was bald between 38 and 45 years of age, and there was also another child in the car. She said that the child had redacted his head out of the window, and she was positive it was the Martin child, and that since seen the child, she had looked again at his pictures and therefore the report. According to Wells, she would not reveal her name because she did not want any publicity, but the more she thought about the child, the more sure she was that it was in fact the Martin boy.

The fate of this lead and the boy that the anonymous woman saw in the car has remained a mystery. 53 years on, and Dennis Martin still remains missing, it's one of the great smokey mountains most enduring cases, and Dennis's family are desperate to one day, they will know the truth of what happened to little Dennis. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the great smokey mountains National Park at 865-436-1230, and reference case number 0-616-469. Just as a side note here, I've followed this case personally since its inception. I was living in Knoxville, Tennessee at the time, I was just about a year younger than Dennis, and it was the first time in my little child mind that I came to grips with the fact that yes, a child could go missing and never be found. I held out hope for Dennis, scanned the newspapers every day after his disappearance looking for news, back somewhere I have two scrapbooks full of clippings.

This case touched me and stayed with me. Dennis, wherever you are, rest in peace. And Dennis, wherever you are. And Dennis, wherever you are. Number 7, Gail Stewart. The case of Gail Stewart is as bizarre as it is unbelievable. On February 14, 2002, 2022, Gail left her home in Coffin Ranch, Reno, Nevada. There are a few details. There are a few details in regards to this disappearance. We don't know where Gail had planned going or why she'd left the house even. When she failed to return home and make contact with her family, however, she was reported missing and a search party was formed. Her friends, family, the local police department, and the Reno Fire Department all spring into action, desperately looking for any sign of her.

Thankfully, within a matter of hours of Gail disappearing, she was found by friend of her sons on a steep slope on Alam Creek. Gail was found cleaning to a tree to ensure that she wouldn't fall down the slope and a friend of her son had happened upon the slope by chance. Reports indicate that Gail was found in a popular hiking area, and it has still not been determined how or why she'd gotten onto the slope. NBC News reported that after shouting for help, Gail went unresponsive, a medical crew's balance she was extremely hypothermic and was suffering from trauma. Gail was retrieved from the tree by the Reno Fire Department and was transferred to the local hospital where she made a full recovery. Her friends and family were extremely gay. Her friends and family were extremely grateful for the efforts of everyone involved in the search and rescue mission for Gail. Finally, her story doesn't end here. Just one month after Gail was found cleaning to a tree, she would mysteriously disappear again.

On March 14, 2022, Gail left her home in Reno, Nevada once more, and headed toward the Hoover Dam in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Over 479 miles from her home in Kaufflin Ranch. Gail had gone to visit the Hoover Dam to take pictures, and the last time she was spotted was in the bypass. And the last time she was spotted was in the bypass ship. And the last time she was spotted was in the bypass bridge parking area of the park. After this, there's been no sign of Gail. According to the National Park Service, Gail had traveled to the area to take photographs and did not return to her vehicle. She did not have her phone or any identification on her at the time. Just like Gail's first disappearance, there is barely any information or any clues to work with, and her family is desperate to find her. The National Park Service is asking anyone who may have seen Gail or anyone who was in the area that day to please come forward.

They address the media in a press conference saying, though no further details for this ongoing missing person investigation are available at this time, information from other visitors is often very helpful to investigators. National Park Service, search and rescue crews and local police departments are doing everything they can to locate Gail. But with the late-meat National Recreationary spanning over 1,495,806 acres, it's hard to search every corner of it. Gail Stewart is described as a white female with blonde hair, blue eyes, tensed five foot eight inches tall and weighs 125 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black long sleeve shirt, black leggings and black shoes. Anyone with any information is asked to please contact the National Park Service Investigative Services Branch at 888-653-009.

888-653-009. Number 6, John Pennington. 40-year-old John Pennington was last seen on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in the Grand Canyon National Park at the end of February 2021. While John was eventually found deceased, there are a few details about both his disappearance and his demise. We know that John entered the Grand Canyon National Park on around Friday, February 22nd. We know that John entered the Grand Canyon National Park on around February 23rd, 2021 and abandoned his vehicle and abandoned his vehicle near Yaki Point located in Arizona. When John, originally from Kentucky, failed to make contact with his family and also failed to leave the park, the search effort was coordinated.

Local authorities and search and rescue crews scoured the park and a week later they had the task of giving John's family the devastating news. According to reports, John's body and motorbike were found 465 feet below the Canyon's rim at the South Kaibab Trailhead. In the days following his disappearance, authorities released in the public that John may have been traveling with a yellow 2005 Suzuki GSX R600 motorbike. But no further information about this bike has ever been released. After John's body was discovered, the Kokino, the Kokonino County Medical Examiner's Office transport his body via helicopter to the medical examiner's office. Further testing and identification. In a statement to the press, the National Park Service said, based on evidence found with the body, the individual is believed to be missing person John Pinnickton.

Since the announcement of John's body being discovered in March of 2021, there have been very few reports and according to reports written in March of 2021, the investigation was still ongoing. This case is bizarre near the lack of details we have about it. What happened to John? Why did he abandon his motorbike and how is it later found with his body? Why did he enter the park alone? We have very little to work with and as a result, there are very few conclusions to make. According to his National Park Service profile, his cause of death is listed as undetermined and the case status notes remains found pending ID. Anyone with any information is asked to please contact the National Park Service Investigative Services Branch at 888-653-0009. And I'm going to pause right there.

Number five, Noemi Alcados. There's been little media attention surrounding Noemi's disappearance and we hear missing person mysteries believe that everyone deserves to have their case heard. On October 10, 2014, 34-year-old Noemi Alcados, her boyfriend, Jojo Acosta, entered the Hana Numa. Jojo Acosta, entered the Hana Numa Bay State Park in Hawaii for what should have been a peaceful and relaxing day. The two had planned to hike in the Bay area and has believed that they were possibly headed to Rock Bridge. According to sources, however, Rock Bridge is actually closed off to the public due to the dangerous terrain and the chances of being swept away by the crashing waves below. Despite this, though, many hikers risk life and limb to get to Rock Bridge and while most people make it out unscathed, not everyone is so lucky.

In the months before she disappeared, Noemi had posted several photos to her Facebook page, show her in the park and also along all the trails that leads to the infamous Rock Bridge. Noemi and her boyfriend, Jojo, were last seen around 7 a.m. on the morning of October 10, 2014 and by 1 p.m., the alarm bell had been raised. Noemi and Jojo's bags have been found unattended on the rocks by their hikers in the Rock. Noemi and Jojo's bags have been found unattended on the rocks by their hikers in the Rock Bridge area and the other hikers knew that something was wrong. Thanks to their quick thinking and fast actions, the authorities were alerted of their authorities were alerted of the pair's disappearance and the search effort began. Unfortunately, just hours into the search, Jojo's body was found in the waters below. The Honolulu Fire Department, who had joined in with the search for the missing couple, told Hawaii News Now, it was actually close to the shoreline.

Fire personnel who were conducting the search on land as well as personnel on watercraft spotted the body and brought it to shore. Authorities had found missing Jojo Acosta but there was no sign of his girlfriend, Noemi. Over the course of the next few days, search and rescuers would use helicopters, boats and dive crews to look for Noemi. At least 300 water searches were conducted for her while the Honolulu Fire Department and other agencies carried on their search by land. By October 13, 2014, the search was officially called off, although the authorities are still conducting an investigation into Noemi's disappearance. The most prevailing theory is that, like a boyfriend, Jojo, she fell or was swept away with the waters in Rock Bridge and passed away there. Her family has never given up hope that one day they will find out what happened to her. Noemi Acotis is described as an Asian female with brown hair, brown eyes, standing five feet tall and weighing 120 pounds.

Noemi's ears are pierced and she has an unspecified medical condition that requires daily medication. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Michael Garcia of the Honolulu Police Department at 808-529-311 and reference case number of the Honolulu Police Department at 808-529-311 and reference case 14-370-311. Number four, Julia Christine Devlin. 55-year-old Julia Christine Devlin was an extremely accomplished woman at the time of her disappearance. She was an economic lecturer at the University of Virginia. She was an economic lecturer at the University of Virginia. And before that, she'd been a non-resident senior fellow at the Brookings Institute and an economist and the senior private sector development specialist at World Bank.

Julia had obtained her bachelor's in economics and MA in Arab studies with economics and a doctorate from George Mason University. She was well-loved and well-respected professor, so when she disappeared in July of 2021, everyone around her was both confused and devastated. Julia was last seen on July 14, 2021, entering the Shenandoah National Park in her white Lexus Sedan, and after that, it's as if she simply disappeared. When she failed to turn up at work and failed to make contact with her family, the alarm bell was raised and a few days after she'd last been captured by CCTV entering the park. And a few days after she'd last been captured by CCTV entering the park, her car was found wrecked and abandoned on July 17, 2021. The only piece of information to be released in regards to Julia's car is that it was found in the Skyline Drive area in the south of the Shenandoah National Park and that the car was headed to the other side of a cliff face.

With this discovery, investigators knew that they had to find Julia as soon as possible in the Shenandoah National Park Service, the FBI, National Park Service Investigative Services Branch and other agencies, departments and volunteers. All began the artist's search for Julia. For almost 10 days, the group scoured the Shenandoah National Park by landing air, looking for any signover. Dog teams were brought in and those on land covered hundreds of miles and racked up hundreds of manhars. Despite the intense effort to find Julia, no signover was found until day 10 of the search. Unfortunately, it was after that 10th day that Julia was left. Unfortunately, 10 days after Julia was last seen, her body was discovered and once been described as Steep and Rough terrain in the southernmost part of the park. Her remains were tentatively identified at the scene and one report states that her remains were found to mere 600 meters from where her car had been abandoned and wrecked.

Multiple agencies and groups have been involved in the search for Julia, including the Shenandoah National Park Service, the Virginia Department of Energy Management, the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, the Albemarle Sheriff's Department, the FBI, the NPS Investigative Services Branch and multiple search and rescue teams, dog teams and incredible volunteers. Julia's body was transferred to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Augusta County, who then confirmed the identification as Julia Devlin, as of May 2022. As of this recording, no further comment is made by the Medical Examiner's Office or any of the other agencies involved. They have not disclosed whether Julia met with foul play or what other factors were at play in her case. It appears that Julia's case and investigation are ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Albemarle County Sheriff's Office at 434-972-4001.

Number three, Thomas Reed. Saturday, the 13th of June 2020 was supposed to be a happy day for 65-year-old Thomas Reed and his brother, but unfortunately, their blissful day turned into one of tragedy. Like with many cases featured in this episode of National Park Mysteries, there are very few details available in Thomas's case. So here is what we do know. On June 13, 2020, Thomas and his brother set off hiking along the centerpoint trail near the Buffalo National River. As the two followed the trail, taking in the scenery and chatting to each other, they then turned down onto the Sneed Creek Trail, a trail of challenging terrain. According to AllTrails.com, the trail is definitely not for inexperienced hikers. During the hike down Sneed Creek Trail, Thomas injured his leg and waited while his brother went to go get help. When his brother returned with a ranger, Thomas was nowhere to be found, and the National Park Service was immediately alerted.

The Park Service, the Newton County Sheriff's Office, and the Arkansas State Police all joined in on the search for Thomas, searching by land and air, desperately trying to find any sign of the missing hiker. At the time of his disappearance, Thomas was not carrying adequate supplies to sustain him for a long trip, which only added to their worry. Searchers continued day and night looking for any sign of Thomas, and then on June 17, 2020, four days after he disappeared, his body was discovered. The full details have never been released, and the Springfield News Leader reported that his body was found to mile off the Sneed Creek Trail in a drainage area. The site was approximately 2.5 miles away from him, then hollow waterfall along the Buffalo River. At this time, no cause of death has been released, and the authorities are keeping very tight-lipped about the entire investigation. Thomas's body was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory, and it appears that the investigation is ongoing.

If you do have any information, you are asked to contact the Newton County Sheriff's Office at 870-446-5124. Number two, James J. Arthur. Number two, James J. Arthur. 67-year-old James Jim Arthur was a proud U.S. military veteran who mysteriously disappeared while out on a hike in July of 2008. On July 28th of that year, James left his home and headed for the Star Lakes in the Sierra National Forest, just outside of the O'Cymmony National Park. According to his family, James had planned on heading down to the Star Lakes to do a bit of hiking and fishing before returning home. One hiker who went to Star Lakes said the following about the area, access to Star Lakes is via a combination of driving miles of dirt. Access to Star Lakes is via a combination of driving miles of dirt, road, and hiking.

The last stretch of road is a bit rough, four-wheel drive for sure, and many people just hike it. James said his goodbyes and his family watched as he got into his car, not knowing it would be the last time they would see him. As night came and there was no sign of James, his family began to panic. James had told him that after he had finished up with his hike, fishing, and... James had told him that after he had finished up with his hiking, fishing, and photographic, taking shit. James told him that after he had finished up with his hiking, fishing, and photography, he would head into Big Sandy for bite of lunch before returning home. However, hours dragged by and his family reported him missing, knowing that he would never go off without telling them where he was. Soon, in Madera County Sheriff's Office, search and rescue teams and other volunteers were at Star Lakes looking for any sign of the man.

Over 100 people were involved in the search for James at Star Lakes, but they were unable to uncover any clues. That was until they decided to cast their nets further afield. Search and rescue teams decided to spread out, upon doing so, they found James' dark blue Dodge Ram truck at the entrance of Iron Lakes, just about a mile and a half south of Star Lakes. Authorities quickly zoned in on the area and began questioning witnesses, and that's when they came across their next clue. One witness recall seeing James on the day of his disappearance along the steep trail towards Iron Lakes. According to the Doe Network, these witnesses stopped and spoke to James for a little while, who told him that he was hiking towards Iron Lakes and was stopping momentarily to have a rest. After that, James has never been seen or heard from again, and there's very little evidence to work with in his case. James is a US military veteran, and he had also served as Air National Guard Lieutenant and had been a spokesman for 144th Fighter Wing.

Despite the intense searches carried out, no sign of James has ever been uncovered. In July 28th, 2022, will mark the 14th anniversary of his disappearance. His family are desperate for answers, and want to know how James ended up getting lost while out on a simple day hike. James' Jim Arthur is described as a light meal with grey hair, brown eyes, standing six-foot tall and weighing 189 pounds. At the time of his disappearance, James was carrying his camera with him, an Olympus SP 550UZ, a cane and a red backpack. He's also been speculated that James carried a pistol with him with snake shot rounds. He was last seen wearing a light jacket, an orange t-shirt, blue jeans and a straw hat. Anyone with any information is asked to please cut. Any one with any information is asked to please contact Detective Tony Jackson, the Madera County Sheriff's Office, at 559-675-7700, and referred to case number 83613.

And number one, Monty Howard Bolton. 27-year-old Monty Howard Bolton was last seen in the Channel Islands National Park in Ventura County, California, on January 4th, 1992. Monty had grown up in Thousand Oaks, California, before later moving to Provo, Utah. At the time of his disappearance, Monty was a full-time student at Bergam Young University and was described by his family as a genius, exceptionally gifted at an early age in computers and mathematics. Unfortunately, Monty's bright future, and the future of his younger brother, 21-year-old Brian, will be taken away to this day. Would be taken away, and to this day, Monty remains missing. At the end of 1991 and into the New Year of 1992, Wright and Monty were visiting their parents in Thousand Oaks for the New Year. On January 4th, Monty, Brian, along with their older brother and two brothers-in-law, ordered a sailboat and hit the water.

The group ended up sailing to the Anticap island to do some exploring and escape the house for a while. Monty and Brian wanted to explore it further and grab the eight-foot dinghy and decide to go to the sea caves and the coastline of the island. The other stayed behind on the sailboat and washed his Brian and Monty paddle off towards the north side. To return home later that night, though, this is when their family knew that something had happened. The Coast Guard and the Venturi County Sheriff's Department were immediately notified of the two men's disappearances, and a search and rescue effort was quickly established. The area around the Anticap island was scoured thoroughly, looking for any sign of Brian and Monty. Early the next morning, January 5th, 1992, the eight-foot dinghy the two men were traveling in was found 50 yards north of Cathedral Cave. The dinghy was said to have been upright, but partially filled with water. With the discovery of their dinghy, search crews headed into Cathedral Cave, which is where they discovered the body of Brian Bolton.

An LA Times article reports that dive crews believed that they had found a second body while in the cave, but could not ascertain whether it was a piece of clothing or a body. Rough conditions forced them to suspend the search efforts. Carol Spears of the Channel Islands National Park, later until the LA Times, in many of the sea caves, a portion of the cave is underwater, and a portion of the cave is above water. But the swells can completely fill up the caves if they get heavy. Unfortunately, despite extensive searches, no sign of Monty Bolton has ever been found, and to this day he remains missing. Monty's parents had chartered a private boat to help search for him, but this was to no avail. Investigators believe that Monty likely suffered the same fate as his brother, however, his body has never been recovered. Monty was last seen on January 4th, 1992, and is described as a white male with brown hair, brown eyes, standing five-foot nine inches tall and weighing 135 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a blue and gray plaid coat and blue jeans. I'm Steve Stockton, and I'll talk to you next time. Tell your dog I said hi, cat too. Hello friends. In this video, we're going to discuss the strange disappearances of some of the people you'd most likely unexpected to go missing. Park Rangers. Now, we're using parks as a broad term in the scope of this video as it could include lands protected culturally or historically, including national parks, state parks, and other designated wildlife wilderness and recreational areas. Different countries use different names for this position. Warden is the favorite term in Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. Within the United States, the National Park Service refers to the position as a park ranger. The U.S. Forest Service refers to the position as a forest ranger. Other countries use the term park warden or even game warden to describe this occupation.

Now, the profession includes a number of disciplines and specializations, and park rangers are often required to be proficient in more than one of the following. Law enforcement, emergency response, firefighting, dispatch, scientist and scholar, maintenance, and administration. These individuals, particularly those in administration, are often heavily cross-trained in several of the aforementioned areas in order to allow for knowledge of all other areas and duties under their authority. As a result, when people become lost or go missing in a park, the park rangers are usually the first ones on the scene to document the case and to start search and rescue efforts into motion. More than anyone, park rangers are very familiar with the missing person phenomenon, which happens in parks around the world, and we're actually among the first to write about it. In fact, without such amazing books as Guardians of the Yosemite, by John W. Bingham and published in 1961,

Lost, a ranger's journal of search and rescue published in 1998 by Great Smoky Mountains National Park Ranger and Tracker Dwight McCarter, and 2010's Ranger Confidential, living, working and dying in the national parks by Andrea Leiford, there wouldn't be any missing 4-1-1 or other books of this nature that have appeared in recent times. These rangers knew that there were strange goings on in the parks decades ago. The stories you hear from these modern authors appeared here first, but what happens when one of these rangers themselves go missing? I invite you to join me now as we explore five strange cases of missing park rangers. With that said, let's begin. Number one, Ranger Ralph W. Heath. Ralph W. Heath was a park ranger at Baxter State Park in Maine, United States, who allegedly died of exposure while attempting to rescue a woman who was lost on Mt. Catadon in 1963.

On Monday, October 28th of that year, two women, Ellen Moore and Margaret Ivesick, both from Concord, Massachusetts, took the Cathedral Trail and climbed Baxter Peak on the mountain. They reached the summit and stopped to have lunch in around 130 in the afternoon. When the two friends decided to start their hike again and head back down, they had a small argument over the route Margaret wanted to take. Ellen simply wanted to go back the way they came, but Margaret wanted to Bushwack, which very simply put, means to leave the established trail or get off the beaten path as it were. Ellen knew how risky this was, although Margaret had more hiking experience than she did, not by much, and only three years total. She thought it way too dangerous and stormed off to take Dudley Trail, which was the original trail they had taken to get there in the first place and let her friend make her own mistakes and go her own way. It was a decision she would later regret very much. Margaret, on the other hand, thought she was taking a shortcut and laughed off her friend's warnings and they went their separate ways, agreeing to meet at the Chimney Pond Lean 2.

When Ellen reached the final destination and saw there was no sign of Margaret, she decided to wait, but got very worried very quickly. Though it was a nice and sunny day out that day, a nor Easter was blowing in, and the weather was about to very quickly take a turn for the worse. She started calling for Margaret at the headwell near and towards the mountain itself. She was pleasantly surprised when she heard her friend respond and started calling back, despite the fact she was asking for help. Margaret yelled that she was not hurt, but was stuck in the treacherous terrain and wouldn't possibly be able to continue her turn back and plead with Helen to go and get some help. This is when Helen made her way to the Ranger Station and encountered Ranger Ralph Heath having dinner. She explained the situation and Ralph immediately knew how dangerous that path was and how serious the problem they had. He was, however, thinking his lucky stars in his mind at least, that there hadn't been any snowfall, at least not yet.

As in the other year, for his far back as he could remember, there would have been snow covering the mountain for weeks at that point in the year. Ralph followed Helen back to chimney point and yelled out of the direction of Margaret and instructed her in a very calm and clear voice to state where she was and not try to move or grow anywhere, help was on the way. With the wind increasing like it was, Ralph knew that the situation could go from scary to deadly in a matter of just seconds. He had to act fast. He took Helen back to the Ranger Station and radioed his supervisor, Helen Taylor, and told him there was a hiker stranded in the upper basin on the mountain. Now a little background on Mr. Ralph Heath to show what a brave man he was indeed and how he was definitely not someone to shy away from trouble. He served in World War II and was honorably discharged. However, a house fire destroyed everything he owned looked to close on his back, including his discharge papers. He was redrafted to serve in the Korean War before anyone could verify he had already been discharged and had finished his service to the country.

Ralph however went without hesitation to serve only for his wife to decide she didn't want to deal with another tour, especially one he shouldn't have had to have gone on and filed for divorce. So this was a man who was seeking solitude and peace in his life after all of this tragedy and heartbreak and he absolutely loved his job as a ranger and the beauty of the mountains. Despite the weather outside becoming more and more perilous and the orders from the supervising ranger that they had to wait until morning to attempt any kind of search and rescue, Ralph decided the risk to Margaret was too great, leaving her out there all alone at night. Snow was definitely coming at a lot of it. He decided to attempt to rescue himself despite it being nightfall and dark outside. The temperature had drastically dropped as well. He borrowed Helen's backpack and filled it with essential such as food, a sleeping bag, water, a parka and extra clothes. He also took 80 feet of rope and at 11pm that same night headed alone down Dudley Trail.

It was until five hours later at four in the morning that he reported back to Helen. He told her he had spoken to Margaret about an hour after heading out and was able to obtain her location when he again told her to stay put and assured her help was on the way. She reiterated she was unentered but very cold. She's probably more than a little scared as well, I'm sure. He told Helen that Margaret was near the waterfall and he wouldn't be able to reach her without more rope and more people. This was an area that even ice climbers considered treacherous and dangerous. Ralph was also extremely concerned because Margaret was refusing to stay and wait for help to arrive and was determined to find a way out herself for fear she would freeze to death before anyone would be able to rescue her. After reassuring Helen and telling her what was going on, he contacted his supervisor, Helan Taylor, and made him aware as well. Taylor dispatched the main forest service to additional park rangers and a main game warden. A six in the morning, Tuesday the 29th, an icy rain began to fall and the wind had picked up drastically.

Ralph Heath ate his breakfast and then informed Helen an hour of his plans. He was going to send the ravine from Chimney Pond, climb straight up the head wall and into the waterfall where he would provide comfort to Barbara. And if he couldn't manage to rescue himself at least she wouldn't be scared and alone and he would wait with her until the additional resources arrived to get them both out. Now he was clearly putting himself at great risk knowing it was unlikely he would be able to do anything but just sit with Margaret and wait. Yep, he did it anyway. He was truly a hero. While the plan was very reasonable and despite being a chain smoker, Ralph was in great shape and a capable hiker and climber. However, he had hiked Dudley Trail four times in the last 24 hours and it was a very serious and hard trail to get through. He was absolutely exhausted at this point and shouldn't been doing any more hiking or climbing without getting so much needed rest. This would, after all, be a trailless climb he was planning to make. He wasn't going to leave Margaret, however, so the admonishments and warnings from his co-workers and even Helen fell on deaf ears.

Ralph reached Barbara, just as Hurricane Jenny reached the mountain. He sat with her for a little while and the two hunkered down. A ranger sergeant sat out on foot towards Chimney Pond as well and stated that, for the time he got to just the basin, the conditions were wide out with Gail Force winds. By noon, not even the jeeps could make it to the trailhead. There was 18 inches of snow already and more falling fast. Even reported that, only half whipped the mountain, his clothes had frozen solid and literally cracked at the elbows. Having no visibility and facing merciless winds, not to mention the condition of his clothing forced him back down the mountain. He stated he knew that both Ralph and Margaret were in some very serious trouble, this help could no longer get to them. It would be impossible for them to help themselves as well. The following morning, Wednesday, October 30, 1963, Wardens Supervisor David Priest returned to Roaringbrook and set up what we today call an Incident Command Center and had at least 35 people there working at all times.

All different avenues of help were brought in and explored, but nobody could do anything as the snow was still accumulating and fast on Friday morning. Flash forward to November 1st, now had been five full days since Margaret had gotten herself stuck and four whole days since Ralph Heath had joined her to provide comfort and possible rescue, which we know now he was unable to do. On Saturday, November 2nd, all teams and persons involved decided that any rescue attempts were futile, that they were simply wasting resources at that point. A Mr. William Lowe Putnam III was one of the most experienced mountaineers in the country at the time, and had been helping with the rescue efforts since Friday. Finally, on Sunday, November 3rd, he made the statement that he believes Ralph and Margaret had most likely died on Tuesday and reiterated the waste of resources should they continue on this impossible track. It wasn't until almost six months later, in April of 1964, that Margaret Iversix body was found and finally able to be brought down the mountain and sent home.

Even if this time, though, they needed chemical salts to melt the ice, so as not to damage the corpse in any way, and the rescue still took an additional three days. It was found during the autopsy that Margaret was severely injured and had survived more than a few hours due to the extreme blood loss. Her official cause of death was ex-anguination, in other words, she bled out. Two weeks later, on May 15th, they finally found Ralph's body. He was found oddly enough, 400 feet above where Margaret was found. They airlifted him out of there, and his autopsy showed nothing at all. The corner stated, it looks as if he simply sat down and went to sleep, which is not uncommon when people freeze to death. Now folks, though this was a bit of a long one, I think it's important we go over a few of the facts here. First, if Margaret had died very quickly after getting stuck where she was, how was she reeling to Ralph hours later?

She had suffered an artery in her leg and went to blood out within just minutes. Still, she was calling out and answering him hours after she initially got stuck. How is this even possible? She called out to Helen as well, even before that, and we know neither one was under any kind of duress or sick at all so they couldn't have been hallucinating. There were no other bodies found in the area that time, and no one else had come forward claiming to have been the person stuck up there and answering her calling for her. This is very strange of becoming more and more common. Either search and rescue workers will hear the calls with people who are missing only to never be able to find the location where the calls are coming from, or the person who is stuck or lost will hear search and rescue but never seem to be able to find them either. The weather coming on so suddenly and so strong all at once is another very familiar factor when talking about the missing in the area. In fact, there were weeks late for any snow at all, and the weather started out that day as sunny and warm.

This is just one of the many parameters we now look at while investigating the strange deaths and disappearances in the National Parks. How and why did it all come on so suddenly, almost remarkably so? I guess we'll never know, but that doesn't stop us from investigating and pondering and searching for answers in the truth though. Does it? Number two, Ranger Randy Morganson. In July of 1996, Ranger Randy Morganson was working as a backcountry ranger at Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. He was the most ranger in the high sea areas, having been a backwards ranger for 28 years at that time. On this particular day, July 21, 1996, Randy loaded his pack and went on his routine and regular patrol of his station. He was 64 years old and then almost perfect health. Some of his coworkers even thought he was invincible and impervious to the parents that came with a job.

It was just about daybreak when he headed out to patrol near Bench Lake, taking nothing with him but an old ski pole to use as a hiking stick. He was never seen or heard from again. Now, as is often the case in these strange disappearances, a sudden rain started to fall, blew up out of nowhere. Got rid of any footprints or other evidences to where Ranger Randy could have possibly gone or what could have happened to him. The people who knew and loved him were shocked. Randy had been the go-to person whenever someone else had gone missing in the area in the last almost 30 years. It was crazy that they now had to reach out to someone else to help find Randy himself. This man was the epitome of an experienced hiker and park ranger. There was no one more experienced or better trained. He had grown up in Yosemite National Park and had even worked carrying around the famous photographer Ansel Adams equipment when he famously photographed the area.

He had been in the Peace Corps and learned high altitude mountaineering while in India from the Sherpa. Yet at one time even been a winter ranger as well as a Nordic ranger and then his current gig as a seasonal backcountry ranger. So you tell me how did someone like this even get lost while out on his routine patrol no less around had taken many many times. It wasn't even during any kind of search and rescue mission, just his standard ordinary everyday route. He was an environmentalist, he was a naturalist, and said that he spent more time in the woods in the Sierra than John Muir. He was also a writer, his mentor being Wallace Stegner. This particular season though and someone in experienced backcountry helicopter flyer, Randy was grounded due to the weather. He absolutely loved this and referenced it as being in purgatory. Something to take into account here was Randy's mood or at least how his usually jovial and not a care of the world mood seemed to be out of sorts immediately prior to his disappearance.

Some people that knew him even went so far as to say he was in a funk of sorts. Randy also had some problems with the politics of how the parks were being run and mainly how the backcountry rangers were mistreated and oftentimes overlooked at least in his opinion. There weren't even any benefits that came along with a sometimes dangerous and low paying job except one. Only paid out on a ranger's death, a $50,000 payment paid out to eligible survivors of park rangers who died in the line of service to the parks, such as but not limited to during search and rescue missions. While some of speculated Randy personally went missing to obtain this poultry sum, it's just not logical as he was never found dead or alive so we can put that rumor to bed right now. The park's senior science advisor recalled a strange encounter he had with Randy just a couple of weeks before he disappeared. He said of Randy that he was blank, almost morose. He was usually so passionate about the outdoors even something small like trample grass.

And when the advisor brought up he was trying to save the trees in the park from some form of infectious bacteria which was killing and rotting them from the inside out. He stated Randy simply responded with, why bother? David Graber, the science advisor said one of Randy's favorite things to discuss had always been the wildflowers in the area so he decided to bring that up and try to end the conversation on a happy note. He started talking about how beautiful the flowers were this year and how nicely they were holding up against the weather and unseasonably strong winds. To this Randy allegedly replied, I don't find much pleasure in the flowers anymore. He claims Randy then ended the conversation by somberly asking out loud if all of his years as being a ranger had been worth it and then he walked off. Graber said he knew in his heart that this went beyond Randy's well-known contempt for the powers that be but didn't push the issue. Unfortunately, he never saw Randy again as he went missing two weeks later.

When Randy's best friend and coworker George Dirkie received a call that Randy was missing, he was extremely worried. He had known about some of the personal issues Randy was struggling with, even if he wouldn't say specifically to the public what those issues were. He says he remembered three things when he heard that Randy went missing. The first was the time the two had almost been killed and Randy for the first time in his life and career had been reckless and had moved when George called down a large and deadly rock. That was about to fall directly onto his head. Randy simply left the rock hit his helmet which if he hadn't been wearing would have killed him. The other two memories were similarly strange with George marking that it was a good day to be alive and Randy responding he wasn't so sure. And then an argument about Randy's extramarital affair which George didn't agree with. While these things at the time didn't register as anything would have been on and while no one including George thought Randy was depressed enough to think about anything drastic. These things were modland, morose or worse, or so everyone thought until the disappearance.

Randy never brought the required gun with him and it was still locked up at the station when he went out missing. While this itself didn't rule out anything self inflicted, most people just didn't think Randy had it in him. Now play couldn't be ruled out either. Randy had reported feeling threatened exactly twice. Once by an eye rate climber and again by what he called a cowboy. Nothing further ever came of these encounters and while a park administration to this day leads that Randy simply hiked out the park to start a new life without having to deal with anything that comes with leaving it all behind. No one who knew him well would ever believe that. Many people speculated he had simply gotten injured and because the radios were so unreliable, he was able to call for help and nobody has found his body yet. Again though, this theory has its problems. For one thing, it's been almost 25 years. Surely someone, somewhere at some point, would have come across at least some of his bones. We still have no clue what happened to Ranger Randy Mortensen and perhaps we never will.

Some say though that he fell victim to something more dark and sinister, something unknown which is either snatching or swallowing people whole. Perhaps he walked right into a portal or alternate dimension, maybe saw something in the woods he wasn't supposed to and was never right in the head again. The possibilities seem endless and we, especially in this community, should know by now that they really and truly are endless possibilities. No. 3 Ranger Brendan Unit Larger County Colorado Department of National Resources Ranger Brendan Unit, 27 years old, went missing while out searching at night for a missing boner. Although there have been nothing important about the results of the initial missing person who Brendan was looking for, it seems a sudden high wind event caused him to capsize in his boat and die of what was officially said to be freshwater drowning. Now folks, I'm no expert, but what I do know about is the strange weather events and causes of death that just don't fit the season or the profession the person in question was in.

And I'm not the only one either. Many people are wondering how professional outdoorsmen could capsize and drown. And what about this so-called strange high wind event? Why does there always seem to be a sudden change in the weather during one of these missing persons encounters? These are the things many of us in this community wonder about, after seeing case, after case, after case. The same thing over and over again, but never with any definitive or even sensical answers. No. 4 Ranger Jeff Christensen In July of 2005, another seasonal park ranger died under mysterious circumstances in the same county Brendan Unit passed away in as well. Jeff Christensen was conducting a routine backcountry patrol of the Lake Lawn Trailhead when he allegedly lost his footing and fell from mummy's range in Rocky Mountain National Park in Larimer County, Colorado. The search for the initially missing ranger lasted a little over a week and he was found on August 6, 2005 by Hiker.

The official cause of death was a left temporal skull fracture that led to a subdural hematoma. The ranger has been said to have lost his footing and died of a tragic accidental fall. He had only been on the job for four years and was survived by his parents. Now is it possible for someone with at least four years experience to die of something so simple? Could it be that there's something out there in our national parks and forests hunting these rangers? Perhaps they or it wants to take out the people who are going to be able to help impossible even save the other people, this mysterious predator or predators, or trying to take out. We must keep searching for the truth. We owe it to all the people who die of something that is seemingly simple and accidental, but could very well be something much more sinister. And finally, number five, Ranger Paul Fugate. Here's yet another tragic account of a park ranger who died while doing his job.

Between two and three p.m. on January 13th, 1980, law enforcement ranger Paul Fugate, 41, left the Vister Center to go on a routine check of the nearby nature trail in the Cherkawa National Monument in Arizona. He was never seen or heard from again. Now Paul was known as a rebel and even anti-establishment to a point. He stayed for weeks at a time in a small cobblestone cabin onside of the monument. He was a naturalist who did small tasks such as answering the Vister's questions and putting together trail guides. Originally, Paul worked at the Navajo Monument in Arizona, but was transferred soon after being disciplined by one of his bosses about his laziness and slavinly appearance. Apparently, this supervisor admitted in a later report that he was annoyed he couldn't technically fire Paul and also that he hated the hippies coming in to work for the monument. Paul was charged with stealing government equipment when he took some hay home for his wife's horse. He was in an openly open relationship with his wife and sleeping with multiple women or co-workers.

While all of this may seem irrelevant, we must look at every aspect we can of a person's life when they go missing under such strange circumstances, especially when people in their profession are seemingly doing so at an alarming rate and have been for a while. Before he left his post that fable day, he left instructions with the only other staff member there that if he wasn't back by a certain time for them to close up without him. He then walked out and down towards the area of land the park was about to acquire, one which was shrouded in problems as there had been much conflict about the 400 acre purchase with the local Apache tribe. Again, he was never seen or heard from and nobody has ever been found. Well, there you have it. What do you make of these strange disappearances of rangers who work in some cases literally live in these parks? If they can go missing and leave no trace, what does that hold for the rest of us? Brightening, isn't it?

I look forward to your thoughts in the comments section. Meanwhile, until we meet again, I'm Steve Stockton and I'll talk to you next time. Hello, friends. Steve Stockton here with you. Welcome to our latest video. Today we're bringing you something a little different. People who mysteriously vanished only to return years later. Sounds fascinating. Join me. Let's take a walk and see. Now, so often we discuss the high strangest of people who mysteriously disappear and seemingly vanished without a trace and into thin air. Especially with what's come to our attention in recent years, there's certainly no shortage of discussion on this particular matter.

But what happens when the exact opposite happens? Of course, these cases start off like your average and, if you can say, run of the mill, strange vanishings. But these have a bit of a twist in that the people who seemingly vanished reappeared just as mysteriously years later. Could we even begin to try and imagine what this must be like for the loved ones of the person in question? To think of the pain and heartbreak of losing someone under such mysterious circumstances is hard enough to do from an outside perspective. But to even try and fathom what it must be like to have the person who you loved and cared for, whom you thought you'd lost forever and perhaps might never get any closure on, is suddenly there again one day, as though they had never left in the first place. Let's take a look. Our first case is that of Lula Kora Hood. In 1970, Lula Kora Hood was a single mother living in Galesburg, Illinois with several family members. She stormed out one day and was never seen again. That is, until she was. Just like the rest of her family, Lula's 15-year-old daughter was left behind to wonder whatever had become of her mother.

An investigation was launched rather quickly, but there wasn't a single lead clue or tip for the authorities to go on, and the case was cold almost as soon as it began. Lula's family, friends, loved ones and the police tasked with solving her disappearance were left confused and mystified for decades. In 1996, human remains were discovered in a brick yard near the family home where Lula was last seen alive, and with the use of the somewhat primitive DNA methods back in the mid-dynies, they were determined to be those of Lula Kora Hood. Her family collected the remains from the authorities and even buried them, giving them a headstone at a resting place in loving memory of Lula. While this didn't solve what had happened to Lula, it did give her family at least some small symbols of peace, knowing she was at rest. However, somewhat unbelievably, 13 years later, the family would receive some incredible news that would give them all a comparable shock to when they first realized she was missing and even to when they had been given her remains.

The case was closed in 2009. There was much more advanced DNA testing being done, and though we don't have the official reasons as to why the authorities started reinvestigating this long closed and seemingly forgotten case, that's exactly what they did. Using the new and more advanced DNA techniques, they exhumed the remains thought to be Lula's and realized shockingly they weren't her remains at all, and she was still a missing person for all intents and purposes. Two new investigations were open as a result of this finding, the first being into where Lula ended up so long ago and also who did these now once again unidentified remains belong to. Unfortunately, only one of these mysteries has been solved so far. Somehow, the authorities were able to determine after months appealing back layer after layer of her disappearance and conducting a completely new investigation that Lula Hood was in fact alive and well. The now 84 year old woman was found to be living in Florida with an entirely new identity in family, which included 14 additional kids to her 115 year old daughter she left behind 39 years earlier in 1970.

It's still unknown and has always been quite unclear what happened that caused Lula to vanish in the first place, but it's been suspected by her family loved ones and the investigators in this case that her long history with mental illness most likely played a huge role in that. The identity of the remains originally thought to belong to her have yet to be identified. Our next case is that of Arthur Jones and it starts off in 1979. Arthur was a happily married father of three and had a very lucrative job sitting on the Chicago board of trade. He was by all accounts a happy and content man with no obvious reasons for wanting to disappear or leave his family. On May 11, 1979 Arthur told his wife he had a sudden and unforeseen meeting at work that he had to attend but that he wouldn't take long in getting back home. His wife would later report that he got up and rushed out the door and seemingly right off the face of the earth because he was never seen again and reported as missing not too long after. His car would be found not too long after parked at the airport with many of his belongings locked inside of it.

Arthur's wife did tell investigators that she thought something strange was going on because when he rushed off to a supposed business meeting he hadn't been dressed for any sort of meeting and that in the days leading up to disappearance he had been acting out of character. It eventually came to life that Arthur had a tremendous and debilitating gambling problem and that in the week's party is vanishing he had sold off his seat at the board of trade in order to pay off a very high gambling debt reported to be an excess of $210,000 at the time. Which in today's economy that's about $808,000. Also in the days before he disappeared a fellow trader named Carl Gamari had been murdered which led the authorities almost immediately to conclude that Arthur Jones either met the same fate or at the very least that foul play was involved in his case as it had been in Carl's. There was no solid evidence though no leads or clues no tips at all. The investigation went cold just after a little while and there were no other avenues left to investigate. Arthur Jones was declared legally dead seven years later in 1986 with a state of death being recorded as May 11, 1979 the day vanished.

After he was declared legally dead the case was basically considered cold. They hadn't found out anything new but his being dead didn't put his disappearance at the top of the pile to be investigated and that was that. In 2011 though Arthur Jones showed up in a somewhat bizarre way and he was nowhere near deceased. Arthur Jones had been living and working all those years when he went missing until he was found under an assumed name and false identity. While it's common to see someone working under or otherwise using a social security number of deceased person in order to procure a new identity or alias Arthur Jones was for some reason using a living person's information and this is how it all eventually caught up with him. The person whose identity it stolen noticed some strange activity regarding his social security number and decided he need to look into it further. He first caught the discrepancy while at the Motor Vehicle Department in Nevada then he reported it to the Social Security Administration in that state.

An investigation uncovered that Arthur Jones had been living and working all those years under the name Joseph Richard Sandelli and that after his disappearance he had lived in Florida and California before he settled himself into working as a sportsmookie in Las Vegas where he had been for the previous 10 years. That wasn't until he was finally caught. When he was finally questioned, Arthur Jones would tell the authorities that he had paid a friend back in 1979 to some of $800 for a new identity. This amount bought him a social security card and number, a birth certificate and a driver's license. Everything he seemed to need to be able to get a fresh start in this country. He even stated that this was why he left behind his three children of wife for 20 years at the time just to get a fresh start in life, he was quoted as saying. When the authorities ran his fingerprints though they saw that identity theft wasn't the only crime Arthur had been committing in all the years he had been gone. He had in fact been arrested in Nevada, California, Florida and various other states for a multitude of crimes.

Arthur Jones was finally charged with fraud, burglary, obtaining and using personal identifying information of another person and possession of personal identifying information to establish false status or identity. There's no more information available that tells us what became of Arthur Jones where his family's reaction to the light finally being shit on his disappearance and assumed death. And that's where this one leaves us, unfortunately. Our next case comes from Braunschweig, Germany, and involves a woman who was a student there who was majoring in computer science all the way back in 1984. She was 24 years old at the time, and her name was Petra Pasitka. And the exact date of original disappearance was July 26, 1984. On this particular day, Petra left her student housing in order to take a bus to a dentist appointment before she was supposed to attend a birthday party for her brother, for which she also planned on taking a bus to get there. Petra never arrived at her brother's party that night and was in fact never seen or heard from again, at least for 31 years or so.

This mysterious and mystifying disappearance took the media by storm, and the report of a young college student vanishing was a big sensation that instigated a tremendous manhunt but no clues or leads were uncovered and nothing turned up to help move the investigation along. The case was featured on the German version of the television show Crime Watch, but this too was seemingly all for nothing as it didn't produce any new information. The authorities were convinced, despite a lack of any evidence at all to back this up, that Petra had been murdered and her body well hidden. They assumed that it was only a matter of time before remains would surface and prove them right. There was a man who recently had been the prime suspect in the murder or slash assault of another young college in the area who the police thought for sure had to have been involved with Petra's disappearance as well. But there was never any evidence to place him with Petra or really anything at all to prove conclusively that he even knew her. This suspect though oddly enough actually gave a full confession and admitted to murdering the young girl.

After the initial questioning though, when asked to give more details and tell where he had hidden or placed the body, the man recanted fully and refused to speak to authorities about her case anymore. The only suspect remained a free man due to lack of evidence against him and their not being a body. This was also the reasons why this case went so cold so quickly. In 1989, Petra was officially declared dead, mainly due to the strong feelings the initial inspectors had about her having been killed and possibly assaulted by the aforementioned suspect. People in the community and especially loved ones never gave up hope though and Petra and what could have been followed her were a hot topic of debate and much discussed throughout the years. In 2011, a woman calling herself Mrs. Snyder called the police to report that her home was being burgled. The address she gave was in Dusseldorf, which is located approximately 200 miles away from Braunschweig. During the seemingly normal rather mill questioning about the burglary, the woman told the stunt police that she was in fact the long missing Petra Pasitka.

This was one of, if not the most famous disappearances in Germany at the time, so the authorities, to their credit, knew immediately the implications of this woman's shocking and seemingly random statement. The woman was very matter fact about the whole thing, and was even described as being casual despite having been assumed dead for 31 years at that point. The investigators were more than a bit skeptical and decided to put her bizarre story to the test, and at the end of their investigation they had found enough corroborating evidence to prove she was indeed the missing woman. After told everyone she had traveled throughout Western Germany ever since she left that day in July of 1984, and that she had used quite a few false identities. However, German authorities and Petra herself have kept extremely quiet about the reasons why she decided to up and walk away from her seemingly good and very normal life, at least for someone her age at the time she left. There are no further details at all as to what made Petra leave, why she chose that specific day, why she never reached out to anyone, and also why she decided that particular point in time to come clean.

Some have speculated perhaps she had been aside from the false identities, of course, the kind of average and law-abiding citizen it was perhaps nervous she would be found out if she didn't say anything that day, the police were in such heavy presence at her home because of the robbery being reported by her. That is, though, only speculation, and there are no real facts that can be corroborated fully as to what exactly happened here. Her disappearance, though, mainly given how long she was able to stay gone for without being found out or noticed, and with her age at the time to boot, that it was meticulously orchestrated for the police spokesperson stating of the whole thing, she did not even have a bank account and paid dollar bills in cash. Her father passed away a few years ago, but her brother and mother were in shock and tears when they heard the news. Now, there seems to be a common and general theme in most of these cases we're presenting to you today, but also in these types of purposeful and orchestrated disappearances in general.

That's when a person willingly leads behind their entire lives with everyone and everything they know and that's familiar to them in it and running from some sort of threat. Whether these threats are real or perceived is inconsequential. Our next case is no exception and involves a 24-year-old woman named Denise Balser of Manchester, New Hampshire, United States. On January 17, 1984, Denise was reported as missing when her husband came home and found an oath that simply stated, we have your wife. Several days later, her husband's truck would be found abandoned at Logan International Airport, and it contained all the necessary documents one would need to start a new life. It held social security card, a birth certificate, and a driver's license amounting other things belonging to Denise. Her credit cards, along with this personal identifying information, had been strangely laid out all in a row along the driver's seat of the abandoned vehicle. There was no clues and no evidence as to what happened to Denise, though.

The note left behind in a full forensic search of her home also yielded nothing of value, and the police and the family were timing. There was never any time it ran some demand, and whoever had allegedly written the letter never gotten touched either. The subsequent investigation into this disappearance yielded one dead end and false lead after another, before eventually going totally cold. There was the single suspect, the person of interest, including Denise's husband. The first useful clue came when a woman Denise was working for when she vanished was accused of embezzling money from the workplace. During the investigation into this crime, the police quickly ascertained and acquired clear convincing evidence that Denise, too, had been embezzling money, and she was responsible for taking anywhere from between $12,000 and $100,000. Denise was the bookkeeper and had been falsifying records, most likely working in tandem with the woman at her job that got caught. In 1986, Denise was charged with the crimes in absentia, and the authorities believed wholeheartedly, as did most of her family, that at this point that's why Denise took off in the first place.

It said she most likely needed a hammer of justice, so to speak, who was going to be coming down hard on her and her coworker, and she wanted to be out of dodge before there was a chance to arrest her. No leads, tips or clues, came in until 2002, when the mystery of what happened to Denise Bolzer would unravel. There was a private investigator hired along before to investigate her case, and he received a very credible lead, which eventually led right to her. In Panama City, Florida, a woman living under the identity of Denise James was found to be Denise Bolzer, and since she had vanished so long ago, it started a whole new family, who had no idea at all about her former life or her crime. Technically, they knew nothing at all about her aside from what she told them, which wasn't much. Denise eventually came clean under the initial questioning, but said she only fled when her former boss threatened to kill her for what she knew about the embezzling scheme. She claimed she had no idea she'd ever been wanted for embezzlement or charged with any sort of crime, and she insisted she would have come forward then, as she knew.

Denise said she fled to South Carolina, then to Bahamas, Florida, and even Hawaii, before settling down in Panama City. In 1996, the embezzlement charges against her were completely dropped. That's all we have for you right now in this case, other than Denise went on about her life and her family from before, at the very least, were able to rest knowing she was indeed alive and well. Though, with her new family and knowing she purposely fled, you could ever know what measure of relief if any of that brought them. That's all the cases we have for you today, but make no mistake there are thousands of people just like this who mysteriously reappeared. While some were more bizarre and strange than others, one thing's for sure, in all these cases having common across the board. They were all thought dead after mysterious disappearance which spanned years or decades and had someone thinking the worst. All the while, the people had simply left of their own accord.

Let me know what you think of these strange reappearances. I look forward to your comments, but keep it friendly and respectful, please. Till we meet again, be good to yourselves and each other, stay safe out there, don't disappear. As for me, I'll see you a little further on down the trail. I'm Steve Stockton, and I'll talk to you next time. Tell your pets I said hi. Hello friends, Steve Stockton here with you. Welcome to our latest video. In this episode, something a little different. Normally, we cover strange disappearances, the mysterious, weird, bizarre, sometimes they explain. This time, we're going to cover strange appearances. Out of our other videos, we might say where did they go, but in this one, the question is, how did they get there? Join us. On this channel and in this community, we have examined the missing.

And now, we're going to take a look at those that just appeared seemingly out of thin air. Green children, a woman with global amnesia symptoms walking the streets of a bustling city and other strange tales. Join us in examining people that appeared out of nowhere, in no particular order, here we go. The Green Children of Wolf Pit. Thought to possibly be the children of blemish parents killed by King Henry II in the 12th century, two young children appeared in the woods of Wolf Pit, Suffolk England, and no one knows where they came from. Villagers out working the fields found the pair by a wolf pit that interestingly enough gave the small town its name. Their clothing and scan was like nothing the people had ever seen before. When they spoke, no one could understand what they were saying. The sister and brother would be orphans if the history records are correct, losing their parents to one king or another, left them defend for themselves. They seemed normal enough, the right height and stature for their age.

The only peculiar thing other than two young children being found alone in a forest was the color of their skin, and the clothes the villagers just couldn't wrap their heads around. It said that the language they spoke was unknown to the people who found them, and the children would only eat raw broad beans, also known as fava beans. The villagers took the kids in and taught them how to speak English and eat other foods. And when the two did learn to speak English, they would then explain that they came from a land where everything was green, and where the sun never showed, called St. Martin's Land. After learning the language and having lost their green skin tone, the brother and sister were baptized for the man who took them in. It said that shortly after this event, the boy died. When asked how they arrived in Wolput, the sister had no explanation. We were hurting our father's cattle and heard a loud noise, she said, suddenly we were in the pit where we were found. Another account of the man that took the children in after finding them surmised the children must have followed the cattle into a cave that eventually led them to Wolput.

The girl remained in the home of the family that found her as a servant for many years. She met and married a royal official and took the name Agnes. Is this a fantastical tale or did two mysterious green children show up in Suffolk England? Maybe only history knows, but what do you think? Next up we have the piano man. No, not Billy Joel. Of all the strangest stories to come out of the Isle of Sheffey, a small town just 50 miles from London. The story of the piano man and how he came to be wandering around the town, soaking wet, dazed, and with a musical talent that would later earn him a spot in the New York Symphony, would baffle the locals and the world for years to come. Standing in the Isle of Sheffey, one can look east and see tall mass protruding from the waters of a ship that's long been sitting at the bottom of the ocean floor. Mystery of this, you ask? Well, this ship has one and a half tons of explosives on it that could go off at any given time. Or so that's what the locals will tell you.

But the SS Montgomery isn't the only mystery the ocean is given up to the Isle. In 2005, a nameless man wandered around the Isle of Sheffey, wet, hungry, and peering in the window at a local McDonald's. Police were summoned to the restaurant where they found the man just standing there, like expression on his face. When the police asked him his name, it seemed as though he conveniently didn't know. Locals had told police that also spotted the man hanging around a boat on the beach and aimlessly wandering in and out of the shadows. No one could recall ever seeing him before, and when the police searched his clothing for identification, they found none. Even the man's clothing labels had been removed. The police escorted this stranger to the patrol car, then to the maritime hospital emergency and accident department for an exam. Having gotten a clean bill of health and the police having no need to hold the man in custody, he was taken to seat social worker Michael Camp, who had embark upon a four-month saga of trying to find out who this man was, where he came from, and how he ended up in the condition he was in when he was found.

When the social worker gave piano man a scratch pad in hopes he would write his name, instead he drew a piano. Studying the drawing and not getting any hint as to what it could mean, Camp had an idea. He took piano man to the chapel, where there was indeed a piano. The transformation was almost instantaneous. The stranger seemed calm now, and could play surprisingly well. His rendition of Swan Lake and other pieces by Taikowski were astounding. Even seemed to have composed some of his own works. Several weeks into the mystery and not getting any closer to identification, Camp decided to seek local help from the public. He called on a local freelance journalist to take on the story and help get his picture out and hope someone would recognize him. It was worth a try at least. A reporter named Mike Gennell took the story. He recalls the phone conversation saying it was a Friday, but I was looking forward to the weekend when I took a call from the picture desk.

They said it probably wasn't much of a story, but a man had been apparently washed upon the beach and had lost his memory. Could I go and check it out? Bay 26, 2005, would change everything. The trick was going to be getting the picture taken because piano man did not like new people. He was very stressful and he would get overly emotional, causing him to scream and tear. So, Camp had the photographer hide in the bushes and snapped the pictures the two walked by. He managed to get just a few shots before piano man realized there was someone taking his photo and began screaming. Gennell rushed the pictures through processing and only two of the five were good enough to publish. Weeks passed and still the story hadn't been written. Camp called to see what was going on and that's when he got the news that Gennell's editors didn't believe the man had amnesia. They believed he was seeking asylum from somewhere and they weren't going to help. Camp was told he could use the picture to sell to someone else if he liked.

Camp finally was able to get the story out with the pictures. By this time, Ward had gotten around about the mysterious stranger and people were now wanting to be the first to figure out the man's identity. Calls were coming in from all over the world suggesting local missing people to even aliens as piano man's true identity. Camp held firm in his conviction that he would learn the true identity for this poor soul. The clothing piano man was found in were suggested as being expensively made. The people that cared for the man presented him with sheet music as they began to think he was a tortured artist that may have suffered some sort of mental break and attempted to take his own life. Camp thought the man could be British and that maybe if he checked music academies or orchestras in Europe, they might be able to find where he came from. As the story caught on around the world, reporters took to the aisle to get a glimpse of piano man. A few months later, the stranger from the ocean was transferred to a new secure mental health facility where the staff enjoyed his musical talent who would have to make him stop playing so that he could eat or just take a break.

Sometimes the staff would have to forcefully remove him from the piano bench. In this whole time, the man hadn't spoken a word to anyone. Staff at both facilities deemed him uncooperative and were beginning to think he had maybe damaged his voicewalks when he attempted to take his life. But on August 19th, 2005, piano man spoke his first words to a janitor when he said, I'm not feeling very well. He went on to confirm what had long been speculated about the taking of his own life and explained he was 20 years old, was Bavarian and had arrived in England via Euro Star Train from Paris. He had two sisters and wasn't really a great as piano players they'd initially thought. He stated that he had drawn the piano because it was the first thing that came to mind. Piano man later identified as Andreas Grassel was then returned to his relieved parents in Germany. His parents had been so worried that they'd almost written him off as dead that it was easier to deal with that way.

When Grassel was returned to Germany, he said, I'm fine, I'm so happy to be home. He also added, I just do not know what happened to me. I get little flashes of my past like in a film. But I have no idea how I ended up in England like that or why I couldn't talk. I just suddenly woke up and realized who I was one day. To this day, some believed Grassel's story that he just had a mental breakdown and somehow ended up crossing a body of water to tidy aisle where he remained unnamed for months. However, some people believe it was all in elaborate hulks to get attention and become pseudo-famous. Bake or real, Andreas Grassel made his way back to the arms of a family that feared him dead. Let us know your thoughts on this one in the comments section. Now we have The Forest Boy. Apparently, inspired by the movie The Zeitgeist Movement, a Dutch teenager took to the streets of Berlin claiming to be an orphan who had just lost his father and couldn't remember his identity.

The first people the boy happened upon were construction workers of whom he told his fantastical story. He said that he was 17 and he had been living in The Forest, eating what he could find after he had lost his father sometime earlier. He also told the men that he hiked for five days looking for help after bearing his deceased father. In Broken German, he explained to workers at Berlin City Hall, I'm all alone in the world. I don't know who I am. Please help me. The boy would go on to collect thousands of benefits and housing having spun the convincing story. But soon, investigators started out some of the tales the boy was spending and police went in search of the area where he said he had buried his father. Not finding any remains in any of the locations The Forest Boy gave them. They started to question him about everything he had said. Still sticking to his story, the police released pictures of him and before long, they were contacted by the boy's girlfriend who told them the truth.

Robin Van Helsum was his real name and he had run away some months earlier. From testimony given by a stepmother, his father really was deceased. Amazing, the length that he went to for this facade. Next, we have the Esdal woman. Our story starts with a burn passport. Fingerprints sanded away, nude, tags removed from her clothing that lay nearby. She had no identification. On November 29, 1970, I'll hiking with his two daughters in Ice Valley, a.k.a. the Death Valley area in Bergen, Norway. They happened upon the unidentified woman's remains. The area had a sorted history of being a place of death. The nickname Death Valley came from all the lives taken at the hands of themselves along with a group of hikers that fell to their death years earlier in a fog that covered the area.

This place of death in sorrow would claim another life on that day. The young woman lay across a pile of rocks and by the time the police arrived at the remote area, the case was already going cold. The perplexing scene showed a woman surrounded by the few mega belongings she had with her and a couple of pints of gasoline left nearby. Her body was burned so bad on the front that she was practically unrecognizable, but the backside was left untouched. Police found the passport had been burned, there was no other identification with her. The clothing that she had worn was missing its tags, and there was also a large amount of sleeping pills and the gasoline. From the few clues the police did collect, they were able to trace the woman back to a train station and two suitcases that had been left there. Within the suitcases were even more perplexing clues. A journal with coated entries, a prescription lotion with a label removed and 500 German marks.

It was surmised by the other findings that she had traveled across Europe with up to nine fake IDs. Witnesses questioned by police said the mysterious woman spoke several different languages, including French, French, English and German. She had stayed in Room 407 at Hotel Marlin, which was her last known sighting before she was found in Death Valley. She had made a phone call in which she was overheard saying, I'll be there soon. With that she settled her hotel bill with cash and left in a taxi. She was described as being in her late 30s or early 40s, smoked cigarettes, stood around five foot three inches tall and was considered good looking. For decades, nothing was heard about the case. But, as 30 years had passed, a man came forward, accusing the police of making him stay quiet about what he had witnessed all those years ago. He claims he saw the woman walking into the forest with two men in black coats before she was found in Death Valley.

This was the last update. Some people speculate that the install woman was a spy. This case remains unsolved. Next, the case of Cornelia Rao. In 2004, a worried family started a search for Cornelia Rao in New South Wales. She suffered from schizophrenia disorder and would go missing from time to time. But never for this law. So, the family contacted police and reported her missing. At the same time, a woman going by the name Anna, it's tied her way across Cape York, Queensland, relying on the kindness of strangers for food, shelter, and transportation. In March of 2004, locals contacted Queensland Police and asked them to check out a woman that was staying at the exchange hotel in Corn as they recounted the many stories she told about her identity and where she was from. When questioned by police, Anna Broughtmeyer was the name she gave him and spoke both English and German, although her German was considered broken at best.

She could present no documentation to verify her identity, so the police searched her belongings, thinking she was an undocumented citizen. They found $2,500, a Norwegian passport, and a book that had two names in it, one of which was Anna. She told the police she was from Munich. The Department of Immigration tried to find documentation under the name she had given, but there was no one in the system with that name. Soon after, she was taken to the Brisbane Women's Correctional Center and almost immediately, her mental health started to decline. In August 2004, police set out to find who the woman was and posted pictures over in the local newspapers, appealing to the public for help. It would take five months of an exhaustive search to the police to link the two women together as the same person. Then, in 2008, Cornelia goes missing again. She was allowed to travel even though she had stopped taking her medication.

The lady had purchased a one-way ticket to Germany where she, again, wandered around just as before until concerned citizens called the police. She was once again taken to the hospital where she was placed on a psychiatric hold pending contact with either her doctor or family members. Her mental health was even worse this time. Once the health facility in Germany was able to stabilize her, she slipped away once more and wound up in Turkey, where she was immediately turned away. They floored to Dubai in December 2008, not much has known about what she did while there or how long Cornelia remained in the Middle East. But it was reported she had the same behaviors as she did in her previous travels, hitchhiking, asking strangers for shelter and food. Until again, she was reported this time for acting erratically in public and refusing to pay for hotel and taxi, which is a felony in the UAE. She wound up in Jordan in 2009, and this was her final trip. The German embassy was contacted about the woman, and she was listed as missing, slashed, and injured on their travel roster.

In 2009, Cornelia route lost all touch with her reality and was taken to Australia, where she now has a legal guardian and has been admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide. Next up, the case of the Huntington Beach Jane Doe. On April 1, 1990, a woman was trying to cross the Pacific coast highway when she was struck by two cars and passed away shortly thereafter. When she was found, the young woman had no identification and very few identifying features. She was wearing a peculiar ring made from human hair. Police thought this might someday be the lead that would help identify her, but for 27 years her case would remain cold. At the same time, a family all the way across the country of Virginia was worried about their daughter and didn't know where she was. Their daughter, 26, shelled Andrea Cooper, suffered from manic depression, causing long periods of falling out of touch with their family. Sometimes months would pass without words from Andrea, but this time was different, years passed without any word.

In 1990, limited resources plagued many departments with Jane and John Doe's. They had access to the National Center for Missing Exploded Children, but that was about it. Her story even appeared on Unsolved Ministries TV show. Then, in 2010, a new system called the National Missing Unidentified Person System, or Namus, was created. Investigator Kelly Kees, that worked on her case, said, we never forgot her and would regularly pull out her file to see if we could think of anything to you to try. The investigators at the coroner's office never stopped trying to figure out who she was, just as they do with more than 90 identified the sedents that we have. More years would pass, 27, altogether, before the 1990s Jane Doe would finally get her name back. May 11, 2017, that day a set of prints matching a Jane Doe got a hit in Namus. 26-year-old Andrea Cooper had left Fairfax, Virginia, 27 years prior to make a new starting California and hadn't been heard from since.

She was finally identified to her fingerprints. Her parents that still resided in Fairfax, Virginia were notified overpassing, and Andrea was finally returned home to her family to put to rest. We're thankful to know what happened our daughter after all these years, Richard Cooper, Andrea's father told the press. Andrea was loved and respected, she was beautiful. But she was manic-depressive, and therefore we have been through quite an adventure. The family was thankful for the efforts of the police all those years trying to find their daughter's identity. The hair ring around her finger was her hair. She'd cut her long hair after moving to California, and it made her rain out a part of it. Around the same time her identity was discovered. A friend came forward after reading an article about a Jane Doe with a ring made of hair, and was able to tell police the story behind the ring and who the Jane Doe was. Next comes the tale of Jerome.

The year was 1863, digby neck, Nova Scotia. A boy walking the sandy cove beach came upon a man without legs lying in the sand. Other ports say that the boy took the man home with him, but how the boy got the man to his home remains a mystery. The boy's family took the man in, but he didn't speak English. In fact, the man didn't speak words at all. The townspeople named him Jerome. People would occasionally come by to check out the village new cover, but Jerome would growl at them like a dog. On examination, it was found that the man's legs had been freshly amputated and still had bandages on the wounds. Also, it was obvious that they had been removed by a skilled surgeon as the cuts were clean and the stitches were fastidious. The Baptist people of the town decided by the man's looks he must speak happily, so they shipped him off to a nearby town of Medaghan. The people in this village tried to speak other languages to him, thinking he might be able to respond in a different way, but the man neither didn't or couldn't speak.

French, Italian, Spanish, nor Latin. The wife of the family that had taken Jerome in suddenly passed away, and still only communicating through grunts and grouse, Jerome was once again shipped off to nearby town to live. This time it was the town of St. Alphonse. This is where Jerome will live out the rest of his days, and in 1912 he would pass on never having learned how to speak a language and never regaining his identity. Many theories were put forth about where Jerome would come from and who he really was, but none were ever proven true. Next, the case of John Doe, number 24. In October of 1945, a teenager that was deaf was found walking the streets of Jacksonville, Illinois, and became a ward of the state when he could only write the name Louis and didn't know sign language or any other language. The judge in his case sentenced him to the mental health system in the state, therefore he became known as John Doe 24, and the name would stay with him until the boy passed away.

After suffering abuse at the mental hospital he was in, John Doe 24 lost his sight, but not his sense of humor. It's said that he loved to joke around and dance as he could feel the vibrations of the music through the floor. He left the mental health system after losing his sight to what some said was diabetes and entered into a nursing home system where he was bounced around to several different facilities after being in the mental health system for over 30 years. John Doe would succumb to a stroke in 1993, where very few people showed up to his memorial. Upon learning about this tragic case, singer-songwriter Mary Chape and Carverter wrote a song to commemorate him called John Doe, number 24. Next up we have Masha Chachani, also known as Chachani, described as a distinctive Jewish teacher or rabbi. He was known more for his distinguished students, one of which was a Nobel Peace Prize winner than for anything other than being a peculiar character.

The teacher was also known for his appearance, described as dirty and hairy. One student said of the teacher, he looked like a hobo, turned clown, or a clown playing a hobo. The teacher garnered his true identity of his life, never revealing where he came from nor his real name. They would also say his appearance was quite unpleasant, even repugnant. Although he was described in a negative way as far as this looks, Chachani was said to be a master philosopher, mathematician, and was the student's most influential teacher. The only thing known of his past for sure was that after World War II he resided in Paris, but disappeared for a few years before being cited in Israel. He returned to Paris again for a few years and then ended up in South America where he lived out his remaining years. When he passed away in 1968, his most famous student, Nobel Peace Prize winner, Ellie Viesel, paid for the rabbi's headstone and spoke these words.

The wise rabbi Chachani, a blessed memory, his birth and life are sealed in an enigma. And finally, we have Bella, or Lubella, of the Witch Elm. In 1943, a human skull was found in a witch-elm treat by children playing nearby. Police were summoned to the area where they found the remains of a middle-aged woman, along with a few pieces of clothing, one shoe, and a cheap metal wedding band. She was found with a piece of cloth in her mouth and a dismembered hand nearby. This all happened while World War II was raging. The war slowed down identification as all resources were being utilized to help in the fight. She was described as five-foot tall, brown hair, around 35 years old, and having messed up teeth. The identity of the woman remained unknown as the war raged on, and the cases were largely forgotten. Then the messages started popping up around town. Who put Lubella down the witch-elm?

These would be written for months around West Midland of Old Town, but no one ever figured out who the woman in the tree was, how she got there, or who kept leaving these cryptic messages. 1999 was the last time the who put Lubella down the witch-elm graffiti appeared. Some believed her to be a German spy, others claimed she was the chosen victim of a black magic ritual, while others still thought she to be simply an unfortunate vagrant. The true identity of Bella or Lubella is just one of the puzzling questions surrounding this enigmatic murder. Well folks, there you have it. What do you think of these strange appearances? If you've enjoyed these, let us know in the comments we're considering making this a regular feature. And I do look forward to those comments, but please keep it friendly and respect. Till we meet again, be good to yourselves and each other, and be safe out there.

As for me, I'll see you a little farther down the trail. I'm Steve Stockton, and I'll talk to you next time. Hello friends, Steve Stockton here with you. Welcome to our latest episode. In this video, we delve into the enigmatic world of strange wilderness disappearances, cases that defy explanation and challenge our understanding of the great outdoors. From unsharted forests to remote mountain ranges, these mysterious vanishings have left investigators baffled and committed these haunted for the unanswered questions that linger. Join me. Let's walk and see. First up, Barbara Bollock. 55-year-old Barbara Bollock and her husband's cousin, Donna Biles, and Donna's boyfriend, Jim Ramaker,

planned to hike Barbara's favorite trail on July 18, 2007. The Bear Creek Overlook Trail is about a 15-minute drive from her home and is a 4.5-mile out-and-back trail near Victor, Montana. The trail is rated moderately complex and is frequented by hikers. It offers a breathtaking view of Bear Creek and the surrounding mountains and both stunning wildflowers. Donna woke up feeling unwell on the morning of the hike and decided not to join. However, Barbara and Jim still wanted to go, so around 8.30am or 9am, Barbara informed her husband, Carl, that she and Jim were going to the overlook and would return later for lunch. Well, then spent the morning working on a carpentry project. Donna grew concerned around noon when she realized that Barbara and Jim had not returned from the hike. However, Carl reassured her that Barbara was an evident experienced hiker who knew the area well so there was no need to worry.

He was confident that they would return soon. Additionally, Carl informed Donna that Barbara was always cautious and that she brought a backpack with her containing food, water, and a firearm for protection against predators. Around 2pm, Carl received a phone call. It was a Forest Service Law Enforcement Officer. She asked me if my wife's name was Barbara and I instantly thought something terrible had happened. Carl said. After finding out that Jim had reported his wife missing, Carl rushed to the Bear Creek overlook trail, hoping to find her. However, she was nowhere to be found. Jim Ramacher reported that he and Barbara hiked the entire Bear Creek overlook and stopped for lunch. During their hike, they encountered two young men on the trail and spoke to them for about half an hour. After finishing their meal, Jim and Barbara started to head back to the trailhead. At one point, Jim stopped to admire the view and looked back for around 45 seconds. When he turned back around, he discovered that Barbara, who had been walking ahead of him by about 20 or 30 feet, had vanished.

Despite calling her name and searching this surrounding area, Jim found no sign of Barbara or her backpack. As Jim was searching for Barbara around the Bear Creek overlook trail, he noticed that the area had loose shale rock, which would have made it difficult for anyone to move about quietly. Despite this, Jim didn't hear any screams or cries for help, which made it less likely that Barbara had fallen over the overlook. Jim eventually gave up his search and headed back to the trailhead. However, he found that the road leading to the trailhead was closed for maintenance that day and construction workers were there. Jim briefly described Barbara to them and asked if they had seen her, but they said they had not. However, the workers did recall saying two young men with a black and white dog leave the trail earlier. Jim reported Barbara missing shortly after this. After two weeks of intensive searching and investigation, Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman said Barbara Balik's disappearance was a mystery.

Quote, we are perplexed. We have combed the area in the vicinity of the disappearance very well. No trace at all has been found. We would like to verify if we can that Balik was even on the mountain that day. Now, theories on Barbara's disappearance range from an intentional disappearance to an animal attack to foul play. Barbara Balik was last seen near the Bear Creek overlook in the Bitterroot Mountains west of Victor in Montana on Wednesday, July 18, 2007. She is described as a Caucasian female, standing five feet tall, weighing 115 pounds, with brown eyes and red or avern hair. She has pierced ears and was last seen wearing a pastel colored shirt, tan shorts, and carrying a black colored backpack. Anyone with any information regarding Barbara's disappearance or whereabouts is asked to contact Missoula County Sheriff's Office special agent Lee Oli at 406-830-802-0.

Or Missoula County Sheriff's Office special agent Norm White at 406-830-7006 or Raveli County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Z. Hudson at 406-375-402-0. Next, we have Arvind Walter Nelson. On August 6, 2014, 51-year-old avid hiker Arvind Walter Nelson was dropped off by a friend at China Camp near Tossahar Road high and deep in the Los Padres National Forest. Arvind had lived in the Big Sur area for years and was familiar with the surrounding wilderness areas. He was possibly in route to Pine Valley, Pine Falls, or the Black Coventryl. Arvind was supposed to finish his hike at Big Sur Station from Sykes and the Pine Ridge Trail and contact his friends on August 14. When Arvind failed to arrive at the Big Sur Station on August 14 as expected, a massive search and rescue operation was initiated on August 16.

The Monterey County Sheriff's Department in cooperation with the National Guard, U.S. Forest Service, California Highway Patrol, and the Coast Guard scoured the area with helicopters, dogs, and ground crews. Despite their best efforts, the search and rescue operation was unsuccessful in finding Arvind. Sadly, authorities were forced to call off the search for Arvind on August 25. Commander John Thornberg of the Monterey County Sheriff's Office said, quote, the reason the search has been going on as long as it has is he's an experienced hiker. He took equipment with him and he planned to be gone for a long time, end quote. Commander Thornberg also said Arvind may have gotten lost or injured and he may have been waiting for search teams to find him. He had food, water, and equipment for an extended stay in the wilderness, but he was hiking in a large wilderness area with dense vegetation cover. The last people to see Arvind may have been Jack English, who lived for 13 years in an isolated cabin in the Ventana wilderness and his son Dennis, according to Stan Russell.

Russell said, Dennis and Jack had gone out to visit their cabin in Pine Valley on August 6. A couple hours after they arrived, Dennis was sitting inside the cabin playing guitar with his father Jack English. He heard a voice outside asking to approach the cabin. It was Arvind who had heard the guitar playing and came up and introduced himself. Dennis welcomed him in and befriended Arvind. They hung out, played music, and hiked around Pine Valley for a couple of days. Dennis and Jack were picked up by helicopter on the 8th, leaving Pine Valley. Arvind saw them off. He told Dennis he was going to be staying through Saturday the 9th and then hiking the 11 miles to Sykes on Sunday morning, the 10th. Arvind Walter Nelson, who is described as an African-American male, standing six foot terry inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing brown hiking boots, a dark blue backpack, and was carrying leather flip-flop sandals.

Anyone with any information regarding Arvind's disappearance or whereabouts, is asked to contact the Monterey County Sheriff's Department at 831-775-3722 and reference case number 14-05-301. Next, David Dave Cook. On September 19, 2016, 49-year-old David Dave Cook, an accomplished mountaineer from Albuquerque, New Mexico, was going for his 47th summit of a fortainer, my solo climbing either Pierre Mid Peak, Maroon Peak, or North Maroon Peak, or possibly all three, in the White River National Forest in Aspen, Colorado. Dave, a former Marine with a wealth of experience in the backcountry, was well equipped with this trip. Unfortunately, when Dave failed to return home, his family immediately knew something was wrong. His wife, Maroon, described Dave as a kind and caring person who wouldn't just leave his family.

Dave was reported missing to the Pitkin County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. During the investigation, deputies learned that Dave arrived at the Maroon Bell's Snowmass Wilderness Area shortly after 11 a.m. on Monday, September 19. Dave was seen on Monday, September 19, hiking near the trail to Maroon Peak. Additionally, Dave's cell phone pings cell towers in Aspen and Gunnison counties later on Monday. The Sheriff's Office said it is not unusual for cell phones and high elevations to pings cell towers from the wilderness. Dave was also reported to have been seen on Tuesday morning by a U.S. Forest Service employee near Maroon Lake, the last confirmed sighting of him. This sighting and other details directed search teams to focus their effort in the Maroon Bell's Snowmass Wilderness Area. After eight days of searching, with no results, the Pitkin County Sheriff's Office suspended a search. The incident management team conducted multiple ground and air searches over the eight days following Dave's disappearance.

In the wake of Dave's mysterious disappearance, Maroon, Dave's wife and other members of Dave's family set up the Dave Gives Back campaign to help raise funds and awareness for search and rescue teams in Colorado and New Mexico. Maroon wants to ensure that Dave is not forgotten and that other families do not have to endure it the same ordeal. David Dave Cook is described as a Caucasian male approximately five foot ten inches tall 175 pounds with short brown and graying hair and light eyes. He was last seen wearing an earth tone colored shirt, a blue jacket, a black backpack and khaki pants. Cook was reportedly carrying a blue climbing helmet and is described by his friends and family as friendly and outgoing. The Pitkin County Sheriff's Office requests anyone with any information regarding Dave's disappearance or current whereabouts to please contact them at 970-920-5300.

Next, we have Delmert-Wayne Sample. Delmert-Wayne Sample, a 53-year-old pharmacist, was well known and respected community member in Onalaska, Washington. He was an avid outdoorsman and was always in good shape. He loved spending his weekends in the wilderness but always remembered to keep in touch with his family and coworkers. Delmert was also known to make last-minute changes to his plans but he always informed those who needed to know. Therefore, it was highly unusual when he went missing and didn't show up for work. His family and friends knew that something was wrong and began to worry. On the weekend of March 4, 2005, Delmert planned a restful trip to the woods. According to witnesses, he was seen at a gas station around 11 a.m. on March 4 at the intersection of Interstate 5 and Harrison in Centrelia, Washington. As believed that Delmert then continued his journey to Tillamook, Oregon. However, three days passed without any contact from Delmert and when he failed to show up for work, his employer reported him missing.

The press released by The Chronicle reported that an employee at the Chahalist Walmart failed to show up for work. The Lewis County Sheriff's Office was notified of the situation. The article also mentions that the employee, Delmert, had never taken an unexcused absence in the 15 years he'd worked at Walmart. As a result, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation and initiated a search for Delmert. Delmert's friends were interviewed extensively and this is where the police would obtain their first clue. Delmert told his friends that he planned to travel to Tillamook, Oregon, over the weekend of March 4, 2005, to visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory. Tillamook is around 158 miles from Alaska and would have taken almost three hours to drive there. With this new lead, investigators focused their efforts on Tillamook and the roads that Delmert would have taken to get there. During the early stages of the investigation, officers received an important tip.

According to records, Delmert's red and white 1992 Ford Ranger pickup truck had been inspected by a park ranger in the Olympic National Park close to Lake Quinoe. The ranger had taken note of the vehicle as it had been parked there for quite some time. Only after Delmert's disappearance was reported through the National Missing Persons database to the ranger and investigators connected dots. Over the next few days, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office searched the wilderness in Olympic National Park and two days after Delmert was reported missing on March 7, a new discovery was made. On March 9, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office found Delmert's abandoned 1992 Ford Ranger in a roadside pullout on South Shore Road near Lake Quinoa. Unfortunately, Delmert was nowhere to be found and the only items in his truck were his sleeping bag and food. The Lewis County Sheriff's Office was joined by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office as well as search and rescue teams from Jefferson, Kitsup, Grace Harbor and Clalum Counties.

After discovering his truck, investigators continued searching in Olympic National Park, however, despite their best efforts, no sign of Delmert has ever been found. Now, some speculate that Delmert may be a victim of the infamous Israel Keys. Reddit user U-slash-sluthing-something commented on a thread, quote, He said he was going to the Tollmook factory in Oregon, yet his truck was found north near Lake Quinoa. They found a diet mountain dew bottle beside it. Israel Keys was known to be an avid diet mountain dew drinker, but Del didn't think synthetic drinks were healthy and didn't drink any soda. Keys also lived in Nia Bay at the time, frequently camped near Lake Quinoa, and he can't be accounted for in the days leading up to Del going missing, end quote. Since Delmert disappeared in 2005, little progress has been made in his case, but his loved ones remain hopeful.

Delmert, why in sample, is described as a Caucasian male, standing five foot eight inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with green, brown hair, and hazel or blue eyes. Delmert had a beard and mustache at the time of his disappearance. He has a scar on his big toe and a healed fracture on his left arm. Anyone with any information regarding Delmert's disappearance or whereabouts is asked to contact the Lewis County Sheriff's Office at 306-748-9286 and reference case 05-C-2774. Next, we have the case of Patricia Sue Patty Tollhurst. Patricia Patty Tollhurst, a 48-year-old woman who owned Patty Shack Restaurant in East Sonora, California, was known for her kind and loving nature. Unfortunately, she faced financial hardships, which took a toll on her both physically and mentally. On April 18, 2014, Patty was last seen in Twain Heart, California. However, she was in contact with her friends after that.

On April 20, 2014, she wrote a letter to her friends, informing them that she was going to Kennedy Meadows, which is located along the Pacific Crest Trail Desert, and was going to quote, put her feet in the water, end quote. Kennedy Meadows is often referred to as the Promised Land, as hikers have to hike over 700 miles to reach this beautiful site. When Patty later failed to contact her friends and family, the Tollhurst County Sheriff's Office was notified that she was missing and initiated a search. Two days into the investigation, a clue was discovered. On April 22, 2014, Patty's white Toyota forerunner was found unoccupied at Donnell Vista Point on Highway 108. Her purse and other personal items were found inside the vehicle. There were no clues as to where Patty might have gone, and the Sheriff's Office thoroughly searched the surrounding areas. And now the case of Paul Callucci. Sixty-year-old Paul Callucci was last seen on September 8, 2021, at the Roeing Brook Campground in Baxter State Park, Maine.

He had booked a two-night stay at the Russell Pond Campground, and arrived there around 9.45 am on September 8. He parked his light green 2015 Toyota Prius at the Roeing Brook parking lot, or intended to leave it during a stay. The vehicle was backed in with a key fob inside, and it was unlocked. A park ranger spoke to Paul sometime between 1030 and 11 am regarding the park and Paul's plans for the trip. After the conversation, Paul continued on the trail toward Russell Pond, and was not seen or heard from again. The day after, on September 9, Paul's family received concerning letters prompting authorities to initiate a search. Despite extensive efforts by park rangers, officers, and volunteers to find any clues, Paul's whereabouts remain unknown. Paul Callucci is described as a Caucasian male, standing five foot 10 inches tall, and weighing between 150 to 160 pounds. He has graying hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a red long sleeve shirt, tan shorts with a tan belt, a dark hat, and gray slash green hiking boots.

Paul was also carrying a backpack and a rifle. Anyone with any information regarding Paul's disappearance or whereabouts, is asked to contact the main state police at 207-532-5400, and reference case number 2021-52-10. Next, we have the disappearance of Jungyeon-Won. According to the National Park Service, 45-year-old Jungyeon-Won's light Toyota Camry was found abandoned at a ran point on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park on September 17, 2017. Investigators also found that his car had been seen near the New Hans Trailhead, but nobody could confirm if Jungyeon was in or around the vehicle. Jungyeon has been missing ever since, and little information is available regarding his disappearance. Jungyeon-Won has described as an Asian male, five foot seven inches tall, 121 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to please contact the National Park Service at 888-653-009. And lastly, we have the case of Daniel Lynn Dan Campbell. Tracy Urb was eagerly awaiting to meet her boyfriend, Daniel Lynn Dan Campbell, who was 42 years old, in the Jardin area outside of Yellowstone National Park on April 6, 1991. A couple lived in Sweetgrass County, Montana, and had big plans for the future. Two days before their meetup, on April 4, Dan had entered the park with his loyal dog to search for elk amulets. On that day, Dan had entered Yellowstone National Park and was dropped off with his one-year-old Austrian-shempered healer mix, named Freckles, at the Hellroin Creek Trailhead. Unfortunately, this was the last time anyone saw or heard from him. On April 8, 1991, he was officially reported missing, and a search and rescue effort was launched.

According to sources, Dan only packed a small amount of gear as he did not plan on staying in the park for long. As the weather changed and thunderstorms rolled in, concerns about his safety and well-being grew. Despite being experienced outdoorsman with extensive knowledge and public cutting, Dan stood a little chance against the elements without proper equipment and clothing. During the search, authorities failed to uncover any sign of Dan or Freckles, which led his family to believe that he had met with foul play. In the months after his disappearance, Dan's brother, Billy Campbell, told the Helena independent record, quote, He had been running with some pretty shady characters. I'm not saying he's an angel because he's not, end quote. As younger brother, Rod Campbell further told the desert news in July 1991, quote, if Dan's in the park, he's buried. I don't think Dan is alive. How that demise came? Well, I've got a lot of mixed emotions about it, end quote.

Now, there were rumors that Dan ran away to start a new life, but his family denied them. They stated he was going to inherit a large sum of money, which he planned to use to buy a new house. Due to the lack of updates in Dan's case, his family grew increasingly frustrated with law enforcement. In February 2000, they filed a federal lawsuit against Park County Sheriff Charlie Johnson. According to news reports, the lawsuit stated that Sheriff Johnson, quote, breached his legal duty to properly and competently conduct the investigation relating to the disappearance of Dan Campbell, end quote. Hello friends. Welcome to our latest video. Today we're going to be discussing the frightening disappearance of Tara Calico. Now, many times in this community, we come across cases that are so incredibly baffling. We struggle with our humanity and wondering how something like this could actually happen. Well, we cover hundreds of cases on this channel of people who have gone missing, some who have been found unfortunately deceased, and still others, who no trace at all has ever been found. As they say, the devil is in the details. It's the smallest detail sometimes that can either make a breaking case, or that can leave us scratching our heads and being even more confused in whom we first started out.

The disappearance of Tara Calico is one of those cases where you kind of feel like you're right on the brink of having the answers, only to find the next bit of information bringing you right back around to the beginning. Right back at square one. This sad and frightening case is one of thousands, where the person was abducted and never seen or heard from again. However, it's the little clues along the way, which make this case stand out so much. Tara Calico was from Berlin, New Mexico, and this is where her home was when she left it on the morning of September 30, 1988. Tara was 19 years old at the time and had her whole life ahead of her. She had no idea that when she went out for a usual bike ride at 9.30 that morning, it would turn out to be the last time she would ever see her home again. Her mother rode with her in the mornings up to very recently, which she felt the two were being stalked by passing motorists and was too scared to continue on these morning rides with her daughter.

This would be a strange and sad coincidence and foreboding that neither mother nor daughter had any idea would be so relevant and possibly close to the truth until it was too late. As far as they were concerned, this day was no different than all the rest. A perfectly ordinary Tuesday morning, more so it seemed. Tara refused to mace her mother, suggested she carry along with her, following the alleged stalker incident, and insisted her mother was just being paranoid. Tara had a date to play tennis with her boyfriend at 12.30 that afternoon and asked her mother to come and pick her up if she wasn't home by noon. When 11.30 hit and still no sign of Tara, her mother Patty set out to go and pick her up his plan. She drove the usual route, but this time Tara was nowhere to be found. This was long before the days of cell phones, so Patty wasn't able to just call her daughter and ask where she was or why she wasn't where she was supposed to be.

However, this was immediately concerning for Patty, and she contacted the authorities pretty much right away and reported her daughter is missing. As they investigated further and searched along the route Tara was known to have been writing that day, they found pieces of her sony walkman and a cassette tape. Though there was no way of knowing for sure that these items belonged to Tara, the family were pretty convinced as they knew what her belongings looked like. Tara was a creature of habit and brought along the same walkman cassette player and tape with her almost every single day. Tara's family believed that she might have purposely dropped these items to not only mark her trail, but to alert whoever came looking for that she was in some kind of danger. After all, there would be no other reason for her to have just left her stuff broken and lying on the side of the road. During the investigation, several people came forward and said that they had indeed seen Tara that morning, writing her bicycle along the route where items were later found.

Her bicycle, to this day, has never been located. No one witnessed her presumed abduction, however, and there weren't many clues other than the people who claimed to have seen her and the broken walkman scattered around the area where she was last seen as several passers-by. There were several witnesses, who said they saw a light-colored 1953 Ford pickup truck with a camper-shelf following her, but the authorities were never able to locate the owner of the vehicle. It's unknown whether or not it is connected to Tara's disappearance. Tara's case went cold fairly quickly and her family and loved ones were left with no answers, and the perpetual fear that Tara would be found to see somewhere, along with the perpetual hope that she would once again come walking through the front door someday. That brings us to June of 1989, when it seemed that new life was breathed back into the case when terrifying new evidence was possibly found in the parking lot of a convenience store in Port St. Joe, Florida.

A photograph was lying on the ground between two vehicles. The woman who found the photo said it was found in the parking space of where a white windowless Toyota cargo van, driven by a man with a mustache believed to be in his 30s, was parked when she arrived at the store. However, despite the police setting up roadblocks in an attempt to intercept the vehicle, the man was never caught nor brought to interrogation. The picture in question was a Polaroid, which shows a little boy and a young woman both bound and gagged and with terrified looks on their faces. Because of the duct tape and the gags in their mouth, it was hard to tell who the image was of. It was theorized by investigators, however, that the young woman in the photo was Tara Calico, and that the boy was Michael Henley, also a New Mexico, who disappeared in April of 1988. According to investigators, the picture had to have been taken after May 1989, because the particular film used in the photograph was not available until then.

The identification of the boy in the photograph as Michael Henley seems unlikely, because his remains were discovered in 1990 in the Zuni Mountains, about seven miles from his family's campsite where he had originally disappeared, and 75 miles from where Tara Calico disappeared. There was much back and forth in conjecture about this Polaroid, but in the end, the standing ruling is that it was not him in the picture. Police believe he simply wandered off and sadly died of exposure to the elements. Tara's mother Patty believed that the girl the picture was in fact her daughter, though. This positive identification was mainly made due to a scar the woman in the photo had on her leg, which, according to Patty, was identical to one Tara had in the same exact spot on her leg. Tara had received this particular scar due to an injury she suffered from a car accident when she was younger. In addition, a paperback copy of VC Andrews novel, My Sweet Adrina, said to be one of Tara Calico's favorite books, can be seen lying next to the woman.

Scotland Yard analyzed the photo and concluded that the woman was Tara, but a second analysis mother lost almost national laboratory disagreed. An FBI analysis of the photo was inconclusive. This is where the case seems to take an even more bizarre turn. 20 years after the discovery of the photograph, which was, of course, widely shared by media at the time, pictures of a little boy were sent to the Port Saint Joe Police Chief David Barnes. He received two letters, postmarked June 10th and August 10th, 2009, from Albuquerque, New Mexico. One letter contained a photo rendered on copy paper of a young boy with sandy brown hair. Someone had drawn a black band in ink on the photo over the boy's mouth, as if it were covered in tape like in the 1989 Polaroid. It seems whoever sent the photos was alluding to the fact that the boy in the original photograph found all of those years ago was Michael Henley after all.

This has never been officially confirmed, however. The second letter contains an original image of the boy. On August 12th, the starred newspaper in Port Saint Joe received a third letter, also postmarked in Albuquerque on August 10th and depicting the same image of a boy with black marker drawn over his mouth. None of the letters contained a return address or a note indicating the child's identity, making the officials there believe it may have something to do with the disappearance of Tara Calico. The letters were sent in around the same time a self-proclaimed psychic called the detective about Tara, saying she had met a runaway in California with whom she worked in a strip club with, who eventually wound up murdered. The caller said she had dreams suggesting the runaway may have been Tara Calico, and that she may be buried somewhere in California. Though it was a long shot, and there was no real location given publicly as to where this alleged psychic said the girl could possibly be buried, the police must have had some additional information as they did conduct searches, and reported that the searches led to nothing and no bodies at all were found, none of Tara Calico or anyone else.

Additionally, these photos were given to the FBI for further investigation in hope of finding fingerprints or possible DNA evidence. Twenty years after she disappeared that faithful day in September of 1988, the sheriff of Valencia County, California at the time, Renee Rivera, reported that he had received what he believed to be credible information to finally explain what had happened to Tara. This information alleged that some boys who knew her drove up behind her in a truck, and some form of car accident followed. Tara later died, and those responsible covered up the crime. Rivera states he knows the names of those involved, but that, without a body, he can't make a case. He hasn't released whatever evidence has led him to this conclusion. No rest have been made, and the case remains open. Tara's stepfather, John Dole, has disputed these claims, saying that the sheriff should not have made these comments that he was not willing to arrest anyone, and that strong circumstantial evidence should be enough for conviction.

Two other polaroid photographs, possibly of Tara, have surfaced over the years. The first was found near construction site in Montecito, California, and in a blurry photo of a girl's face with tape covering her mouth and light blue striped fabric behind her, similar to that on the pillow in the Toyota van photo. It was taken on film that was not available until June 1989. The second photo shows a woman loosely bound in gauze, her eyes covered with more gauze and large black framed glasses, with a male passenger beside her on an Amtrak train. For this photo, the film used was not available until February 1990. Tara's mother believed the first one was Tara, but thought that the second may have been some kind of sick joke. Her sister stated, they had a striking, uncommon resemblance. As for me, I will not rule them out. We keep in mind our families had to identify many other photographs, and all but those three were ruled out.

In October 2013, a six-person task force was established to reinvestigate the disappearance. As of 2017, no arrest had been made, and the case remained open. On October 1, 2019, the FBI announced that they are offering a ward of up to $20,000, or precise details leading to the identification or location of Tara Lee Calico, and the information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for her disappearance. In September 2021, the Valencia County Sheriff's Office and the New Mexico State Police issued a statement that they have a new lead in the case, and that the focus of a sealed warrant for an unknown private residence located within Valencia County has been issued. However, no further details were provided, and there have been no additional updates since that time. So what happened to Tara Calico? Is it possible some boys she knew, possibly from her neighborhood or school, decided to try and scare her, but took it too far and accidentally ran her over and killed her?

Leading them to then having to cover it up and get rid of her body and bicycle of Sheriff Rivera believes? If this is the case, then why wasn't the witness or witnesses who allegedly came forward to him with this information, then called in to testify? As Tara's stepfather stated, the circumstantial evidence should have been enough for conviction. Is it possible that her mother was right and perhaps someone had been stalking the two of them and saw Tara alone, deciding to take the opportunity to abduct her right there on the side of the road? Or any of the bizarre photographs handed in actually of Tara? What was the new lead in the case back in 2019, and why has nothing ever come of this alleged search warrant on the private residence? These are questions we hope one day will be answered, if for nothing else than that Tara's family could at least begin to heal. Maybe one day justice will be served and the facts of what happened the young Tara Calico, all those years ago, when she was simply going for a bike ride and listening to some of her favorite music in her walkman, will come to light and someone will be held accountable.

As always, we'll bring you any updates that come to light as soon as we receive them. Well, there you have it folks. What do you think of this bizarre disappearance?
