Episode 192: The Build-Nurture-Convert Framework for Online Course Creators

1. Think about WHO you are helping with your course. You may have more than one group, but start with just one. 
    
2. Do you have any idea how to reach them? Are you building an audience yet? 
    
3. Consider your customer’s journey… by this I want you to think about some of obstacles that are popping up for them. What are the questions, frustrations and painful thoughts bouncing around in their head? 
    
4. Determine exactly what you put into this course – and what will be saved for the next course. What are the minimum steps needed to get from point A to your result or outcome? This should NOT be everything you could teach! What are the minimum steps need to get the result?
    
5. Now put each one of those steps as the major points in your outline. Fill in sub-steps for each one. When you record your course, each sub-step could potentially be a lesson.
    
6. Decide what kind of course you want to have – will it be video? Voice over? Audio only? Written only? Base this decision on the best way for your students to learn the material AND what you like to create. 
    
7. Determine the interactive component – group coaching? 1:1 coaching? Interactive group or message board? 
    
8. If you decide to presell it, make sure you have a very detailed outline put together and you have plenty of time to create each week’s lessons. Otherwise I would build a waitlist.
