E19 Retiring in Chelem, Yucatan, Mexico

About this episode

Can you afford a beautiful waterfront home with a pool? Rob Teichman and Roy Bickford sought to retire comfortably in such a place. They landed in Chelem, Mexico, a small fishing village on a barrier Island on the Gulf of Mexico. Although they reside in a small village, the larger town of Progreso is a mere 6 miles away and the vibrant city of Merida is only 32 miles away. Rob and Roy purchased a large home and turned it into a beautiful bed and breakfast. On this episode of Retire There with Gil and Gene, find out how you may retire in a home with stunning waterfront views without being a multi-millionaire.

Since the airing of the episode, Rob and Roy have moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  Their new home contains three guest rooms. The guest rooms are rented out as Bears En La Playa Puerto Vallarta.  The property contains a heated infinity pool and expansive views of Puerto Vallarta from every room. Information about the guest rooms may be found at  https://bearsenlaplaya.com/
