Google commits its largest ever European investment to Finland and Qualcomm lands Amazon as a custom silicon customer on unusual terms. Let's get into it. On Tuesday, OpenAI published a paper titled on the Navier Stokes Millennium Prize problem, claiming that an unreleased internal model produced an analytical proof with a formal verification in lean that the equations governing fluid motion can develop a finite time singularity. Navier Stokes is one of seven millennium prize problems unsolved for roughly 90 years and carrying a $1 million prize. OpenAI says the work ran across about 10,000 AI agents over some 88 hours. Important caveat, this is a company claim.

It has not been independently validated and it has not been accepted by the Clay Mathematics Institute. Several mathematicians have already raised questions about verification and about whether the system drew on unpublished human work. Now to the money. Cognition, the startup behind the Devon Coding agent said, Tuesday, it raised more than $2 billion in a series E-Round at a $48 billion valuation. The round was led by new investors, Andrieson Horowitz, and Axel, with existing backup founders fund also participating. That valuation is a striking marker for the AI coding market, a segment where enterprise budgets have moved faster than almost anywhere else in software. Cognition has spent the past year pushing Devon from a demonstration into paid deployments inside engineering organizations. The capital gives it room to compete against far larger rivals,

building coding agents directly into their own model platforms and developer tools. Europe Answers Bank. Across the Atlantic, France's Mistral closed a $3 billion Euro Series D on Tuesday, roughly $3.5 billion at a post-money valuation above $21 billion. The round was jointly led by Samsung Electronics, the scale-up Europe fund managed by EQT, and existing investor PSG Equity, with funds managed by BlackRock among the participants. Samsung's involvement is the detail that matters most. It ties a European open-weight model developer to one of the world's largest chip makers, and it lands squarely inside Europe's push for sovereign AI capability that does not depend on American or Chinese infrastructure. To Silicon and Cloud. Qualcomm announced a multi-generational product collaboration with Amazon Web Services on Tuesday, supplying customized inference silicon and optical connectivity for AI data centers.

The structure is what caught attention. Qualcomm granted an Amazon affiliate a warrant for up to 25 million Qualcomm shares at $161.26 a piece, worth about $4 billion if fully exercised, with vesting tied to commercial milestones and purchase volumes. Only $3.75 million shares vested at signing, so the headline figure is conditional rather than committed. Qualcomm shares climbed on the news, and the announcement helped lift a broader basket of AI infrastructure stocks. Infrastructure at scale. Google said Wednesday it will commit 13 billion euros, about $15 billion to digital and AI infrastructure in Finland. The company calls it its largest single investment in Europe. The package covers new data center capacity, clean energy projects and local partnerships, spread over the next two years, with construction phases running through 2027 and 2028. Finland's cold climate, stable grid and abundant carbon-free power

have made it an increasingly attractive site for large compute build-outs. The commitment also arrives as European regulators press hyperscalers to keep more processing and more of the economic value that comes with it inside the block. May to go is a genetic. Meta launched Muse on Tuesday, a personal AI agent that goes considerably further than a chat assistant. Available in the United States on iOS, Android, the web, and inside WhatsApp, Muse can send emails, book travel, fill-in forms, negotiate on a user's behalf and complete purchases. Meta says it keeps working after the user closes the app. That autonomy is the product, and it is also the risk. An agent holding payment credentials and inbox access is a far larger target than a chatbot. And Meta has paired the launch with a sandbox security layer. Expect regulators and security researchers to examine this one closely. A deal falls apart, Anthropic has walked away from its planned acquisition of Descartes.

A deal reported at roughly $6 billion. Bloomberg reported the collapse on Tuesday, citing due diligence as the sticking point. The talks were first reported in mid-August, and the transaction was never completed. Descartes builds AI optimization, infrastructure, world models, and real-time video systems, and the acquisition was widely read as an attempt to attack Anthropics compute costs at the inference layer. Sources indicate the two companies may still work together commercially. For Anthropic, which is reportedly preparing for a public listing, the unwinding leaves that cost problem unresolved. Now, the music industry, Suno released a new generation of music models on Tuesday, built in partnership with Warner Music Group and BMG, and trained on licensed catalogs rather than scraped audio. The company separately announced a strategic partnership

with the independent distributor, Believe, and its tune core arm. Reporting notes the models also draw on Suno's own user-generated data. So the licensing story is not quite as clean as the framing suggests. The context matters. Suno recently acknowledged obtaining YouTube audio for earlier training, while contesting claims from Universal and Sony. Licensing deals are now the industry's preferred route out of the courtroom, to public markets. DeepSeek is laying the groundwork for a domestic public listing. Reuters reported Wednesday, citing two people familiar with the matter, that the Chinese lab has tapped CITIC securities to act as sponsor for an offering on Shanghai's star market. No filing has been made, and timing, size, and valuation all remain undecided. Still, the signal is significant. DeepSeek became a global name by releasing competitive open-weight models trained at a fraction of Western budgets. A domestic listing would give it access to state-aligned capital markets

at exactly the moment export controls are tightening around advanced chips. Sovereignty in Enterprise. Palantir named Nebius, its preferred sovereign AI infrastructure partner on Tuesday. In a deal to deliver what the two companies describe as a complete sovereign AI stack. Under the arrangement, Nebius compute and inference endpoints will be brought inside Palantir's Enterprise perimeter, following an integration period, and offered to eligible commercial customers. The pitch is aimed at organizations that want frontier-scale compute without sending regulated data outside their own control boundary. Nebius, rebuilt from the former Yandex International business, has been positioning itself as the neutral European alternative to American hyperscalers. Palantir's endorsement is the strongest commercial validation it has received. A quiet-to-supply story. A quieter deal shows how far AI spending now reaches beyond chips. Verizon and Corning announced a multi-year multi-billion-dollar supply agreement

on Tuesday covering more than 80 million miles of high-density optical fiber delivered from 2027 through 2032. The fiber supports broadband expansion and the connective tissue of AI data centers where interconnect bandwidth has become as much of a constraint as compute itself. Corning shares jumped about 8% on the announcement, extending a run that has roughly doubled the stock this year. Glass, it turns out, is an artificial intelligence trade. Finally, to Egypt. And in Cairo, Egypt's communications minister announced Wednesday that the country will build a $1 billion AI data center using NVIDIA technology with a planned capacity of 200 megawatts. The first phase is more modest, about $200 million and 20 megawatts developed alongside Vodafone business, cassava technologies, and Elsuidi Electric. Egypt is positioning itself as a regional compute hub for North Africa and the Middle East,
