He tried hard to become a father, especially with his fourth wife, Luciana Pedraza, who was 40 years younger. His closest close to him, say DuVal always thought the issue was with him, not his wives. In his first marriage back in 1964, he became a stepfather to his wife's two young daughters, ages 6 and 7. But he never adopted them during their 11-year marriage, and it never felt quite like having his own kids from birth.
