It's gone eight minutes past five o'clock, central African time. It is about trying to figure out how long till iftar, not too long to live there in inshallah. We are continuing our chat this afternoon. You're on the Savirakaka on A show. We like an interactive. Lots of tears being shed for our Mother Tribute segment. 0727861548 is the WhatsApp line. If you want to contribute to any of our conversations, you can send a text message to the WhatsApp line. Also, the question is afternoon. When is the appropriate age for our children to be fasting at what age do you believe that would be the age that they should be encouraged to fast? And how do you encourage your kids to fast as well? So continue sending those messages in. I'm also doing shoutouts to all of the kids that are fasting this afternoon or today. You can again send those text messages to 0727861548. Welcome to our segment, which is called to hour of the day.

We have I've sat in fleshed out a whole lot of topics. We take a look at the topic, a discussion around the topic, and a tour around the topic. And I also encourage our listeners to ask if you need a tour and the topic speaks to you, it resonates with you. If you need to ask for our listeners to make to hour for you, especially when it comes to the topics that we discussing, then don't be shy. Send your text messages in or send me a TM. And we will request that our listeners make to hour for you as well. Today, the topic of the day is, it's actually part two of the one we discussed yesterday. So yesterday, we spoke about infertility. We spoke about couples who are unable to have children. And this afternoon, we're talking about now that you have children, the importance of making to hour for them, especially making to hour for the terbia of our children. Bearing in this day and age is extremely difficult. It's very nuanced. It's very difficult. You can't apply the same parenting techniques

that our parents parented us on, because that world doesn't exist anymore. There's a brand new world. It's a world that's filled with technology and information overload. And there's so many discussions that can be heard about modern day parenting. And one can tend to feel it but overwhelmed, if you are parenting in this day and age. So we focusing today's discussion on the importance of to hour and remembering and making to hour for our children. Something Apasuraya mentioned yesterday that was quite, it was so interesting. And she mentioned the story of Hida Raleigh Salam. And the fact that when Musa Ali Salam was tailing him, he had killed the one boy. And at that point, there was no understanding on why this had happened. It was seen as such a heinous thing to happen. But because that boy would not have been for the betterment of a parent's, he would have been a burden to his parents, he would have been something that would be to the detriment of the parents. And none of us want to be in that position,

none of us want to hear children that are in that position. But it's true. We are tested sometimes with our kids. It is a test that we'll come about. And today's discussion is focused of centered around making to hour for our children. Apasuraya Chauhan is joining me for our 12th day, Salamu Alaikum. Apasuraya, welcome to the show. Welcome back to the show. It's lovely to have you back with us this afternoon on Radio Islam International. Wa'alaikum wa rahmatullahi walaikum to be back to you. Satya, like a part two from yesterday's chat, where a lot of couples can't have kids and there's a lot to have children. But also the importance of making you emphasize it yesterday, making the importance of making to hour for righteous children. Because inevitably or somehow, your children can also present, can be presented as a test for you in this world. And it's important to continuously make to hour for our children at every phase of the life. The easiest is when they babies. I say the easiest is when they toddler.

The older they get, the more, somebody wants to know my maroon grainy, the older your children get, the bigger the problems get, the bigger the worry gets for your kids. So why is it important to make to hour for our children? You saw that, Mike Danny also used to say the exact same thing. She used to tell my mom in them that, when they're small, your problems are small, when they big, the problems are big. And at that time, you didn't understand because when you toilet training and doing all of that, you think that's the big thing. But then as your kids get big luck, you realize that there's so much more to protect them from this world is a very scary place. And also the responsibility of being a parent is, I think it's more challenging than before, much more challenging than before. We have so much to fight again. So it's also a very, very difficult path to take. But that's why the importance of making to hour

for our children. You know, it can't be emphasized enough because one of the main reasons is if I actually look at this, is that there's no way between a mother's to iron a lot. That is the main thing. So if there's no way, that means that your success as a child, even as an adult, your success lies in the dual of your parent, especially your mother. It's, they say it's the dual for mother, the quiet miracle that holds us together. And it's, that's so beautiful because that's literally how we are facing every day. You know, we don't think that how many times our mothers are making to hour for us, even when we are unaware of it. You know, my own mom, sometimes she doesn't live in the same town as me. But you know, sometimes you even forget and when you're having a conversation, you know, she'll say something about, you know, I made to hour when you told me this.

And such an easy, relevant thing to me. You know, it's like, oh, I mentioned it. But she made it a point of making a dual. And you don't realize the success of that. It all, it was all because of her dual. It lied in that dual that she made. So the mother's dual is so important. It can't even, you won't have success if you don't have, you know, a please parent with you. Also, you know, I think it is, oh, Imam Bukhari. Imam Bukhari, yes, mother, made to hour for him when, and she didn't make to hour that he must write all those hadies or he must be, you know, he sold the world famous. She had no idea that her dual would make her son, that the paraka of her dual would make her son reach, you know, centuries later, he's still speaking about him, he's still narrating the hadis from him.

Well, it was just a mother's simple plea to Allah that, ya Allah my son is blind, please join him. That was her dual for her son. She made a sincere dual that Allah chose him from being blind and Allah did, Allah did join him. But in that, Allah gave him this ability that, do I have so much of paraka that the ability of him, it went further than what his mother made. Even if he abased the Allah and hope, he once a man came to him and said to him, that you know, I've committed this major sin, not a minor sin, I'm major sin. Why am I, what can I do? First, you know, what can I do? And he abased the Allah and hope. He said, is your mother alive? And the man said no. And he said, okay, then just go, go, go ask Allah then. And then when he left, his students asked, he made a bus like, why did you ask him if his mother was alive?

And he said, I don't know of any better act of obedience to Allah than a person who on his day's mother. So if you had to do that, that would have been able to cleanse his sin. But the thing is he didn't have a mother then the next step is like going to ask Allah. But that shows us that the honor of mother and the do are of a mother. Like if you go to your mother and you tell her that she's struggling with even a sin of yours, make to ask for me. You will see how quickly you become successful. There are people who are super, super wealthy or because they were looking after their mothers. And they tell you that they say that, you know, I had so much of wealth in my mother was alive. And I never realized it was because I was looking after my mother, time to look after the mother. A large area in Baraka and there is. And the days that they stop, that's when they see the two things.

Like it's not a coincidence. It's exactly your, your risk is coming because of pleasing your mother. So if you want the do are, then there has to be obviously a good relationship between the mother and the child, the parents and the child. Indeed. Well, something we often don't talk about also is that sometimes our children can be presented as tests to us in every way, mentally, physical tests. It can be emotionally. And does this is something that we, it's a challenge. It's a challenge a lot of parents face within our community. Yes. I think that, you know, the thing with, with children is that a lot tells us in the good on that you're like well, just like how your children are also a test. And it is not to say that because you and your husband are good people or, you know, pies, people that the child will turn out the same.

It's not always the case. You know, a lot of times people are quick to point out that, like, oh, you know, look at this child. What, what must be, you know, they blame the parents. You know, what my parents have done today is a child like this. Or, you know, sometimes the child falls into bad habits or drugs or whatever. And it's not necessarily death. It's that your child can literally be a test for you. And how your job, your duty as a parent is to guide and it's to give them what's right. So you guide them, you protect them, you do. And further than that, it's not up to you. You don't know that part. That is why do I so important. We can't assume that they're just going to turn out the way we want them to turn out. Or do I is what is going to hold them on their life path? Because even if they stay one of my teachers that was years ago, he told us that even if your child stays, they will always come back to what you taught them.

Even if they go off the path. You as a parent must carry on. Continue as we speak, speak and teach. And in Shah Allah they will, even if they stay the combat that dua must protect them from even staying. You must make the dua that Allah don't even put them into that stigma. Let them love you, fall in love with you, and let them have a relationship with you without the difficulty. Give it to them with ease, with gentleness. Why is it also important to make dua, especially in the stay and age for the terbiya of our children? You know, I think it was Imam Malik. I think it was Imam Malik, if I'm not mistaken, he is mother before she even started to study, like properly study the books. She first sent him for an entire year to only learn terbiya, just terbiya. And this is now centuries ago.

When things weren't even close to what we are experiencing now, right? But it was so important for her that he goes and he learns terbiya. He learns the respect, he learns how to, you know, how his teacher must be able to teach him, be in the company of the pious, learn etiquette, because to her that was more important than knowledge, because there is no use giving our children knowledge if they don't have terbiya. And I think our society now, it's very confusing for our children. They go out to sometimes school, the schools that they are in, the company that they are amongst. They start pitching up the bed habits, sometimes they pick up, and sometimes it's not necessarily from your home. It could be something that they're bringing in. And that is why, like I think because of social media, we very exposed to different cultures. We may be able to speak about Africa,

but our children will be speaking like they are from America. You know, the same type of attitude, the same type of lingo or the things, it's all of that because we very exposed to everything nowadays. So I think in this day and age, because of this exposure, we need to actually like protect our children, keep them in a bubble as much as we can. It's not fully possible, but to a large extent, try and protect your children in like where they're going at night, or who they're going with, the company they're keeping, because their friends are the beam they own. And I, you know, I can't believe how my children live. But like choose your plans very wisely, because that's your beam. That's going to be so as long as it's not mine. So if you are with someone, you can say, oh no, but she does this or he does that, but it's okay, you know, I won't do it. No. If our friend tells us, if our husband tells us that

it is going to be a problem, you are going to grow on that beam. Then who are we to say otherwise? Then just keep good company. When you see that, you know, it's very difficult for children to sometimes assist characters, or you know, that's where we as parents have to be very involved in our children's lives. We can't shut them out. You know, this new generation or sitting in the room alone, sitting in the room for hours. The parents don't even know, like the parents come from workplace, the child is going to sleep, the parent doesn't know. And it's like, you message other completely. And what happens is this isolation starts making them rely on other people and other things to regulate themselves, or whatever they're going through, their emotions. It's very important, especially nowadays, to connect to your child and with your child as much as possible. I constantly speak to them,

try and be open. Don't always, you know, be free man. You know, it's very harsh and pushes the child away. So in a beautiful way, like you're talking about terbiyah, it was luqman, luqman, luqman, in the, in the Qur'an, he was advising his son. And I always love the way, you know, how much a good came in this industry. And obviously, Allah, Allah loves you, because Allah put it in the Qur'an. But what, when you do that a thief, what strikes you first, is the way he addressed his son. Ya Buneya, he addressed his son like, oh my, you're son. He called him with so much of love. And I think that our children, as much as we click to blame the children, the parents, the parents in style, also need to be questioned, you know. Sometimes we just, don't do that. Don't do that. Stop doing this. And then, but no time is being spent with that child. It's only you get reminded, and you see something,

or when you don't like something, or generally, it's your ego, because they embarrassing you in front of someone else. But it's never ever, like, you know, let's spend time together. Why did you learn? Tell me about this. Today, people don't have time at all for their children. So, we must, it's important for us as parents to gain knowledge so that we can pass this knowledge on to our children. We can't expect them to be a certain way when they're watching us being different. Absolutely. And to end up with, what is some good to us to make for our kids? So you remember the other day, the two hours, Rabbena, Hablena, I mean, for spouses, and that is the same to us that you read for good children, children with good, good achlaks. And then the other one, is the two hours, Ibrahim Ali, Salam, the Qur'an, Rabbi, Ali, Muqtima, Salati, Wa-Mindu,

Diyati, Rabbena, what are the people to us? Especially, if you are, I hear a lot of parents saying that they have a problem with the children reading for them. If you read this to us, you will find, you will never find a child not reading for them. It is such a powerful to us. People have decided, I know, I know, I know people have decided and the children started reading for them. So, I think that's an excellent one. Love it. Absolutely, love it. Thank you so much for joining us on the show for another episode of the two hours of the day series. We'll catch up again tomorrow, until then you take care and Salamu Alaikum.
