Sandy San who suffered severe injuries, including a severed leg and broken ribs and passed away in hospital. Police say the 22-year-old driver, Harrison Beckle, was swerving across lanes before the crash and then fled the scene. San whose brother was there and tried to help as his sibling lay bleeding on the road. Witnesses saw a leg in the roadway and heard cries for help right after the impact. The family describes the loss as a life sentence. With his wife saying he was the best part of her life and her kids now without their dad, the tragedy has left the family furious and heartbroken. San whose brother witnessed the whole thing from the emergency lane and hurt his final plea to care for the children. They feel robbed of justice already. Beckle faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving and leaving the crash scene.

He spent just one night in custody before getting bail, which lets him go back to where driving trucks on his family's farm. Prosecutors detailed the horror in court this week.
