0:00On March 3rd, a gang behind dozens of drone drops smuggling drugs and phones into London prisons just got hit with a combined 22 years behind. Bars. The Metropolitan Police busted the 7-person crew, who officers say, handled most of the aerial contraband runs in the area during their spree. It kicked off with a tip in December 2025. Within three months, specialist teams used surveillance around jails, phone tracking, and flight logs from a cover drone to nail the pilots, drivers, and lookouts operating undercover of night. These drops pack class B&C drugs, mobile phones, chargers, and SIM cards into spots like warm wood scrubs, Pensonville, and Norwich. The hall ramped up violence inside, putting staff and inmates at serious risk. Officers moved in during an early morning tale on February 26th near HMP Norwich, grabbing four suspects with a drone, cannabis, and a knife. In their car, the rest of the group soon followed, all pleading guilty to conspiracy charges.
