2:00What's going on? Also, we've got grammar, we've got pronunciation, we've got history, we've got music from... One of Tino's favorite musicians, Prince. Prince, Tino's been dancing all afternoon, by Rando, ya tope. Dancing to the music of Prince, one of his favorites. We also have a story from Canada of a guy lost at sea, an elderly, an Tiano, an elderly gentleman lost at sea, but he survived. He was lost at sea for six days, and I'll tell you how he survived and how he made it back home. Our history section, we have Steve Jobs born on this day, and we'll talk about... in 1955, we'll talk a little bit about Steve Jobs of Apple Computers. Also the Gulf War, not the only war kicking off today, but on this day in 1991, the Gulf War began. We'll talk a little bit about that.

It is not just Kiev that is under attack. The second largest city in Ukraine, Harkiv, cities like Odessa and Marialpo in the South, taking fire from Russian forces. And we also understand that that amphibious assault that my colleague Lucas Tominsen talked about is underway at this hour. Make no mistake. This is a full scale Russian invasion into Ukraine happening right now. And the air raid sirens going off in the Ukrainian capital as we speak. My gosh, pretty intense, 18. Now this guy he was on. Guys, let me know for the people on Facebook. Let me know where you able to. As put it all is good. So through Facebook, were you able to hear it? Victor, maybe you can tell me people that are active in the feed.

21:05If you could hear that. But now he he said to target to target. He said similar. You could say well, I think the word target is fairly understood. But as a verb to target to try to hit. So he's talking about how the Russians attacked Ukraine this morning. And they were targeting not only Kiev. Well, they were they were targeting military installations around Kiev. And also targeting locations in other Ukrainian cities. And he said that they are taking fire. So to take fire to receive fire. It's done disparado. Disparando. They're shooting. They're firing. And the secondary cities are taking fire as well. And he says it is a full scale war full scale.

I think this evening to talk or in the morning to make plans with allies about the apparent strict actions that will be taken by the US and Allied forces on sanctions against, against

24:12Russia. So it's going to be, it'll be an interesting few days in the news, everybody, but hopefully you're able to make that out. And that is very much what's going on. I mean, it's the biggest story by far in the world. I'm almost tempted to say it's the only story right now as war has broken out to break out to impetra. Do you say estayar? 30:54All right, everybody. Welcome back. It's the Drive Time Show. No, it's not your favorite dance video program. It's the Drive Time Show. We're here to help you with your English. I know. I know. I know. I know. And we have a lot to talk about. But how about we talk about this one? It was Prince. And why am I talking about Prince? Or known at different times of his career under different names, including one time. He said, I'm not Prince. I'm the artist. The artist formerly known as Prince. But promotions companies on this day, promotion company, MCD launched a lawsuit, lawsuit, which is with you against Prince pulling out of a concert in Dublin just 10 days before it was going to take place.

31:56Now the singer blamed the agency for booking the event without permission. But the agency said the star canceled and gave no reason. So they had a big disagreement and they sued him. For $2.3 million, that's a lot of money. But when you're Prince, you've got the money, right? So this song is called 1999, but it came out in 1983. 1983. Now written in 1982 during the height of the Cold War, kind of sounds familiar. It's a party song with a much deeper meaning as he talks about fears of a nuclear armageddon. And under the Reagan administration, the US was stockpiling, collecting nuclear weapons and taking a fairly aggressive stance against the Soviet Union, which they referred to as an evil empire.

33:59He retired it, but then he brought it back in 2007 for his Super Bowl halftime show. And then started performing it again in many of his subsequent concerts. He re-recorded it in 1998 after leaving Warner Brothers who retained rights to the original recording. And he had a big problem with Warner Brothers when he found out that they owned the master. So he re-re-recorded the song and attempt to keep them from profiting from the original version as that title you're approached. The new version went to number 40 on the US charts at the beginning of 1999. There you have it. Prince, what if on a Tino's favorite musicians, Prince? Yeah. Anyway. Let's go ahead, everybody. And oh yeah, I hinted at this before the break.

35:01I hinted at this one. How about we take a look at today's What's the Difference? Like, make, do, go, come, take, break. What's the difference? All right, folks, it's time for today's What's the Difference? Oh, yeah. On the beach at the beach. Kyle, what's the difference? What's the difference? Well, if you're on the beach, you're physically on the sand. Tocando la arena, por ejemplo. Now if you're at the beach, you're en la playa. But maybe you're still parking the car. Where are you? But if we say you're at the station, then it's more general. It's masque n'er al. Okay? More general. And then we have also in, you know, the idea of the fly, la mosca. You go into the bank. Oh my gosh, there's a fly. Ayuna mosca, aquí en el banco. There's a fly in the bank. Now the fly is not at the bank. At the bank is there. You're in the general area, but you're typically there to do something. We'd say the fly is in the bank because it's inside.

37:05You're emphasizing that the fly got inside. You would say, oh, the where's the fly? Oh, it's at the bank. You know, it's paying its mortgage. No, but it's in the bank. So in is more specifically used to imply que está dentro. But at is not as general with the location. It's more, sorry, not as specific. It's more general. It's not as specific. It's more general to say you're at a location, but it implies that you're there doing something. I'm at the bank. I'm at the office. I'm at the radio station because I'm doing, you're there to do something. Okay. Okay. You're walking down the street, you know, where are you? I'm walking home. I'm halfway home. You say, oh, I'm, I'm just outside McDonald's. I'm not going to McDonald's.

38:05I'm not really at McDonald's because I'm not going into do anything. I'm not going into have lunch. I'm just walking by. But once I go in, where are you? I'm in McDonald's now. I'm at McDonald's because I'm having lunch. I'm in McDonald's because I'm physically inside. But oh, I'm just outside McDonald's because I'm walking by on my way somewhere else. Okay. So sometimes these prepositions can be a bit tricky. But think about that at the beach, more general, on the beach, more specific, and you're physically on that surface, you're physically, you're feeder in the sand when you're, when you're on the beach. Okay. When I was there, I saw you in La Playa. All right. Okay. Yeah. Good. Now, it's time to talk about grammar, everybody. I know you like grammar. People seem to enjoy grammar. And we can talk about it.

39:07So I want to talk about both and neither and all and none. Both neither all none. So imagine I say, imagine which, which, which blend? Which blend contains wine? Let me see what Tino has to say. Tino which, which one contains wine? Sangria or Tinto de Varano? He says los, ah, los dos. Exactly. Both of them. Los dos. Both of them. Both of them contain wine. Right? So both. Ambos. Both. Who is sitting? Me y or Tino. Pues ambos. So now, if Tino is both of us, de nosotros, los dos, de nosotros, both of us.

43:15Expression of the day. That's right, folks. It's time for the expression of the day. One of my favorite parts of the drive time show. Today's expression, well, it's actually just a piece of vocabulary. It's trampa. Yeah, it's not really an expression. It's just an interesting piece of vocabulary in hindsight. Hindsight. Guess so. Yeah, hindsight means hindsight means looking back into the past. Looking back in time. In hindsight, I think we should have increased the price. Y a que estoy mirando atrás pensando en lo que hay algo que deberíamos haber hecho. Looking back at something we should have done. We say, in hindsight, we should have changed the price.

44:18In hindsight, I could have chosen a more complicated expression. In hindsight, and it's one word. Well, in is another word, but hindsight altogether is one word.
