3:07different foundation for what we get into but we do have this opportunity right now since this game happened last night and it's Thursday morning to reflect on on it and there's so many storylines whether it's Drake May it's Sam Donald's injury AJ Brown's injury Gendarian price Seattle's defense there's so much and so I don't I don't know where you can start other than Drake May and three fourth quarter interceptions that were agreed just not like unfortunate these are these are bad balls bad decisions and he's got to play better right and it's not I know that's not the performance he was looking for coming off of that super bowl performance and the playoffs but that's what he put up in week one and it's obviously something that is gonna carry him for the next you know few days right he's got a long break between this next game against Pittsburgh and they got a lot to clean up I think what's interesting is the playoff run was bad and we were kind of talking pre-show a little bit about it and the

4:08thing that kind of stuck out to me though is like I never felt like in that playoff run where he was not playing his best football like that his brain was just broke like and we excused a lot of it because like offensive line Will Campbell got his behind handed to him in the Super Bowl right so like there was there was a little bit of an excuse for Drake and I just never felt like like the three interceptions he had last night Joe were of the just horrendous variety they're the bad decisions misread it you know misread a coverage or just yolo balled into double coverage like it's a little it was a bit much and it was it wasn't exactly what we saw in the playoffs the playoffs was more of like hey he hadn't really faced that kind of pressure all season and then all of sudden he did and things kind of fell apart there were some bad fumbles some interceptions you know like late behind receiver over the middle but they weren't just straight up misreading a coverage like wasn't straight up hey I think I'm I'm seeing you know cover three but I'm catching six and then just

5:08completely throwing it to a defender like we didn't see that type of stuff and that's what we were getting last night even some balls that weren't intercepted were like how many down the sideline did like Devon with her spoon had one right where it's like he's a toe tap away from that being a fourth interception there was one in the first quarter of like the same variety it's like just complete misreads of the situation and it's one game you don't want to overreact but it was concerning to say the least yeah I mean they're they're they have a ten-point lead and they're facing a backup quarterback that you just got to keep it between the lines right this is a defensive struggle don't give the ball away and that's what happened down the stretch and you know I think there's a lot to get into with Seattle and their defense and you know they didn't even have a lot of their their key players right and yeah in Mike McDonald I'm going away man it doesn't matter knee in my preach at Josh Joby you know Drake Thomas doesn't matter doesn't matter this guy this guy knows how to get guys in the right positions and they they make

7:13sitting here cool I'm still here I still make money I still get paychecks I love it a lot of football player man can we talk about the Mac Hollins thing really quick save save your question the Mac Hollins thing let's talk Drake may like him some Mac Hollins what's not it's not just that Joe it's the tendencies so like in the first half Hollins played 13 snaps okay 12 of them were runs one was a pass in like you could see Seattle making these anytime Hollins came on the field it's like they're all talking like cool let's keep you know key up some crazy run blitz and that's exactly what was happening the second half obviously when AJ Brown goes down and then Romeo Dubs had several passes clank off his hands they're like all right now we got a third of Mac the tendency kind of started to change but if you remember we talked about this during the playoffs the Mac Hollins splits where it's like every time Mac is in the field it's an obvious run situation and then they pull them off the field of the pass it's like I don't think in this NFL you can live with that stark

8:15of tendencies anymore it's too much especially when Mike McDonald's the guy on the other side of the field like you have to get away from those types of tendencies and smart coaches all over the league like they're looking for running backs that can play all three downs like multiple running backs gone are the days or you got your goal line back and your short yardage back and your pass got you know you need backs that can do everything because we cannot have tendencies like this and I think that was a massive disservice to New England moving the ball in the first half obviously when injuries happen and Romeo was doing Romeo things we had to make adjustments and and the tendencies kind of came open a little bit but I really thought that was a disservice to that offense in the first half yeah you've got to you have to have the threat of being too dimensional at all times in this NFL it's it's absolutely critical and I also feel like that's why under center your your quarterback has got to be able to play under center or else it's just gonna be a problem shout out Joe bro shout out Joe bro what what what was do you have Drake May's under center I

29:00division why what what's the reason what's the downside case it's the offense it's you just show out in this offensive line yeah no doubt so any other playoff teams in this division I do have Jacksonville in the the sixth slot yeah I have Jacksonville actually is a seven seed yeah actually I have seven C2 but I have New England in the six and I'm a little nervous about that so okay so that Jacksonville is kind of running it back new running back situation new I don't go with yeah to go with olikoon like I Travis Hunter the biggest thing they do is they get Travis Hunter back and so whatever they imagine that looking like yeah which they have a ton invested in that you know that should be a big layer to to where they go yeah let's hold on sorry the surge with Jacksonville last year if they continue that level of play oh they're definitely in contention to win this division yeah they won their like last eight games and each other's awesome dude yeah multiple score wins you know I and then I think

30:01they they get to the playoffs and I think they had to kind of pay their dues a little bit and they'll be better for it but I I think highly of their their talent I think their passing game could be really good this year yeah all right let's go to the North your winner is it my turn to go no it's your turn who do you have win this division this is the hardest division to pick I actually have Baltimore winning okay couple couple notes on why I really believe in Jesse Minner as a defensive play caller and I think Baltimore is Achilles heel actually the last couple years has been their defense and I think mentor will get them right and I like the personnel they have to go with the mentor led defense actually so I think you'll see a lot of Seattle type looks in Baltimore with all those DB's they have I think Roku on Smith gets better with Jesse Minner there I think the past rush gets better just a matter of week is back I think that's a that's a great thing for them and then on the offensive side I just think like if Declan Doyle is a hit and it is a big if we don't know but

31:04he's a Sean Peyton disciple via Ben Johnson the Bears I I think this is great for Lamar Jackson long-term and I know it could struggle a little bit out the shoot and I worry that Lamar might get frustrated early and then go back to doing Lamar things which works in the regular season we know but I do think Declan Doyle for Lamar if Lamar it just embraces it I think it will be good for him long-term and I think they'll get more functional offense out of this team totally with you on the defense I think it's gonna be really good and I do wonder how the offense comes together I think that you're right in saying that Declan Doyle can be really good for Lamar Jackson and I think ushering in where Lamar Jackson style of play has to go yeah kind of moving forward the bar also has to embrace that right in 100% and so that's to me that's the big mystery and I'm they have a new interior offensive line they have I mean really

32:09quite a bit that needs to come together a receiver with the young guys they've drafted and how much you can actually rely on Rashad Batonman and can Mark Andrews go out there and once again be a high volume player is he's now 31 years old Derek Henry is the Ageless I mean yeah but also Father Time is undefeated at some point I just wonder about the offense now what I do like about their offense is that I don't think they're gonna turn the ball over a lot I think Lamar has always been a guy that's pretty much taking care of the football and so I think that's finding that right balance of the new style of play being able to lean on the defense which they haven't in the past with consistency you know what what does that look like the Baltimore game scripts I just think are gonna have a different look and feel here moving forward and and how they embrace that I think is gonna be critical I don't have them winning the division I have them as a wildcard team okay I am drinking the bangles cool way okay I is it possible this interior is actually upgraded I
