Dragnet - The Werewolf - Old Time Radio

The Shiver Show

About this episode

Tune in to this riveting crime classic, Dragnet—The Werewolf.  Written by Jack Webb, who also stars as the steadfast detective, Joe Friday, this radio play first aired on June 17, 1949. The production blends classic crime noir with a chilling dash of the supernatural.

Based on a real police case that was investigated in Los Angeles in the 1940's, a man, described as having a face like a werewolf, is robbing and mutilating women. As Joe Friday and his partner investigate the series of brutal attacks, you may begin to wonder - could a werewolf be behind the terror?

Mary and Greg talk about the iconic Dragnet theme music as well as Webb's masterful storytelling and meticulous attention to police procedures.  We hope you will agree that The Werewolf is a must-listen crime drama.
