DR MOHAMMED MUSTAFA: "There's A Hierarchy of Empathy"

About this episode

This episode contains graphic descriptions of violence, and Islamophobia. If any of the topics discussed is triggering for you, please seek help by visiting Lifeline's website at https://www.lifeline.org.au/ or by calling 13 11 14

On the evening of February 9th, Dr Mohammed Mustafa posted a video of a Muslim prayer being forcibly broken up by police, during a Sydney protest against Isaac Herzog's visit to Australia. The protest on Monday was met with an overwhelming police presence, and allegations of police brutality are set to be investigated by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission. Dr Mo chats to Abbie about why this incident and the response following was a 'breaking point' for the Muslim community, and where we go from here.
