Dr. George Hu is an American clinical psychologist and the Chief of Mental Health at Shanghai United Family Pudong Hospital. He is also the President of the Shanghai International Mental Health Association (SIMHA). He is passionate about increasing access to mental health services and the impact of human psychology on behavior and societies. We discuss mental health, building resilience and how we process negativity and existential threat. We discuss the relationship between our cultural and national identities as Chinese-Americans. We also get into the role of power and privilege and the fear of losing it.
