‘’Don’t Leave Jesus Behind’’ -Text: Luke 2:41-52-

Why Did Mary & Joseph Leave Jesus Behind?

1. Distracted by Religion (vs. 41-42)
   • They followed tradition but missed true relationship.
   • Church attendance alone doesn’t make you a good Christian.
   • The presence of Jesus isn’t a box to check—it’s a life to live (Col. 3:3-4, Matt. 22:37-38, Gal. 2:20).
   • When was the last time you truly felt God’s presence?
2. Displaced by Supposition (vs. 43-44)
   • They assumed Jesus was with them—but He wasn’t.
   • Wrong thinking leads to wrong conclusions.
   • We can lie to ourselves and to God, but we must be honest to find Him (James 4:6-8).
3. A Discerning Reunion (vs. 47-52)
   • The Amazement: People were astonished by Jesus.
   • The Accusation: “Why have You dealt with us this way?”
   • The Answer: Jesus never moved—we did.

Conclusion:

• Don’t leave Jesus behind in your daily life.
• He hasn’t changed; He’s where He has always been.
