Do You Have Insecurity Dressed as Jealousy? - Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites Podcast

About this episode

Don’t answer this question out loud – how do you feel when someone wins something?

It might be something you’ve dreamed of having, or something you wish you could have, or even something you thought you’d get, not that other person! Whether it’s a free t-shirt at the fair, that cute guy in accounting, or the Powerball jackpot, jealousy can pop up quickly when you aren’t the one who ended up with the prize.

Jealousy is simply insecurity in a green outfit, so if you don’t want to feel or act or be seen as an insecure person, practice feeling genuinely happy when you see someone else winning. You can even practice this out loud – when you see someone who has a great smile or purse or whatever, as you pass them, smile and say “you’re winning at …” and say the great thing you noticed.

Root for other people all the time and pretty soon the insecurity known as jealousy will no longer be part of your life.
