About this episode
Sometimes being early feels exactly like being wrong.
You see the problem before everyone else does.
You change direction before other people understand why.
You start preparing before anyone thinks preparation is necessary.
And because nobody else seems concerned, you start questioning yourself.
Do Not Let Being Early Feel Like Being Wrong explores the uncomfortable space between recognizing something early and receiving confirmation from everyone around you.
Being early doesn't automatically mean you're right.
But being different from the crowd doesn't automatically mean you're wrong either.
Sometimes you're simply noticing something before it becomes obvious.
The challenge is learning how to hold that possibility without becoming arrogant.
Stay curious.
Look for evidence.
Listen when people disagree.
Be willing to change your mind.
But don't abandon a reasonable conclusion simply because it hasn't become popular yet.
There is often a strange period where a good decision looks unnecessary.
A boundary looks excessive.
Preparation looks paranoid.
A new idea looks unrealistic.
And patience can make you feel like you're wasting time.
But time has a way of revealing whether your judgment was sound.
You don't need everyone to validate a decision immediately.
You need enough evidence to make the decision responsibly.
And you need the humility to keep checking whether the evidence still supports it.
Being early can be lonely.
Let it be a reason to stay thoughtful, not a reason to automatically retreat.
