Disney Scraps Live-Action Robin Hood, Fans Disappointed

Director Carlos Lopez Estrada, known for blind spotting in Raya and the last dragon, confirmed the news during a Reddit question and answer session. Earlier this week, the project was first announced in April 2020 as a hybrid live-action and CGI film headed to Disney Plus. Estrada was set to direct, using a script by Cary Grandland, while Justin Springer, producer of Dumbo, and Tron Legacy, was on board to produce. That original Robinhood movie brought the legend to life with anthropomorphic animals in a medieval world. A clever fox played Robinhood, teaming up with his bare-buddy little John to swipe riches from the greedy lion Prince John and help nodding Ham's poor. Folks, fans were bummed by the update. One Reddit user who asked about the remake called it a real shame, especially since they were excited to see those animal characters in live-action.
