Dine-and-Dash Scam: Restaurant Owners Left in the Lurch

0:00On March 8th, a group of diners at La Delizia restaurant in Hastings, East Sussex ate a full multi-course meal worth 146 pounds on. February 28th then refused to pay after claiming they found something off in one dish. The owner, Flanko Esposito, apologized right away and offered to take that dish off the bill, but the group demanded to leave without paying anything. And even Dredd and Staff as they tried to exit. Mr. Esposito, who works up to 15 hours a day running the place with his wife, felt let down when he called police to stop them, only to hear it. Was a civil issue they had to handle alone. Later, the restaurant shared on social media that they let the group go out of fear for their safety, highlighting how police did not see it as urgent. At first, now Sussex police are investigating it as possible theft and a public order offense, reviewing CCTV that links the same women to a similar stunt at. The owner's brothers nearby spot last year, with the team dedicated to holding such offenders
