Dictator BANS The Ordination Of Catholic Priests

0:00Well, we have silence from Rome on a rather pressing issue, and it's one we have to come back to from time to time. And that is the situation of the church in Nicaragua, the ported last year on priests and bishops essentially disappearing in the country, being arrested, others being expelled, others leaving to go on normal business in the Holy See, and then not being allowed in the country when they try to come back. And now we have news that they are banning the ordination of priests in certain dioceses. And we'll get to that in a moment, but we have kind of a critical news story that broke yesterday. Pope Leo is doubling down on Amoris Latizia, because of course he is, why wouldn't he? After yesterday's pack of mama news, this just makes sense. The headline is Leo the 14th praises Amoris Latizia, wants to preserve this aff.

1:04He had to say Pope Francis offered the universal church a luminous message of hope regarding conjugal love and family life, which was the fruit of three years of sonatil discernment, the apostolic exhortation Amoris Latizia. He thanks the Lord for the stimulus that has encouraged reflection and pastoral conversion in the church, and asks God for the courage to persevere on this path. According to Leo, Amoris Latizia has strengthened the church's doctrinal and pastoral commitment to the service of young people, married couples and families. He adds Amoris Latizia offers valuable teachings that we must continue to examine today. Even sites the controversial chapter 8, inviting the church to accompany discern and integrate fragility, and wants to overcome a reductive conception of the norm. That document should be abolished, put on the index of forbidden books, with only skilled

2:06trained trustworthy theologians having access to it. It should be banned. It should be called Amoris adulteria, because what it does is allow for sacrilegious communion for divorced and civilly remarried Catholics. That's what it should be done. That's what should be done with it. But he's going to double down on it. He barely mentions any of the controversial parts other than the chapter 8, reducing criticisms of it to a reductive norm, which is ridiculous. He did this in the context of calling a worldwide meeting of bishops to chart the future of family ministry. I recall, I believe it was Sister Lucia, warning that the third secret, part of it was that the final battle would be between heaven and hell would be overmarriage in the family. I thought I'd throw that out there. Here we are marking the 10th anniversary of Francis' alleged papal encyclical that attacks the family directly. Diane Montani has a little more details on this.

3:08Episcopal conference will happen in October 2026. With a new phase of synodal discernment on the future of family ministry. The document is evil, and he is doubling down on it, because I, of course, he is. John Henry Weston noted this himself, posting on X. Leo called the heretical document a luminous message of hope regarding conjugal love. Yeah, OK. Luminous indeed. I think a teacon, Nick Donnelly, posting on X, actually had a pretty good response to all of this himself. When he asked, how can anyone with a modicum of Catholic faith and reason call amorous latitsia a luminous message of hope regarding conjugal love and family life? It promulgates situation ethics and anti-nomenism. It gives priority to individual experience over God's commandments. It permits those engaging immortal sin to commit sacrilege against the blessed sacrament. Only the total repudiation of amorous latitsia is an acceptable Catholic position.

4:13And that is true. This is what the church, Rome, is dealing with instead of dealing with our main story today. We go to the National Catholic Register for this headline, Nicaraguan dictator Ortega bans ordnations and dioceses of four exiled bishops, having deported four bishops for their criticism of the regime, the Nicaraguan dictator seeks to punish them further by not allowing any ordnations in their dioceses. You know, you'd think that the Vatican would be all over this, that they'd have a papal nuncio going, they'd be invoking help of, I don't know, nations that are friendly to the Holy See and friendly to Nicaragua to try to figure something out, but no, they're not doing, they don't seem to be doing that at all, they're just ignoring it. Because they got bigger fish to fry, like apparently continuing to blather on endlessly about immigration.

5:14That's still their big news, that's their big topic. Although I will give you one update, by the way, it has been announced that Pope Leo will not be visiting the United States for the Fourth of July weekend, but he will be giving a presenting a pre-recorded taped message to a gathering in Philadelphia on July 3rd, for the 250th. So at least, at least he's remembering his home country on its big day. But you know, maybe he could reach out to the United States to help fix this problem in Nicaragua, but of course, that required being friendly with the administration, or at least, not hostile to it. And can't have that. In the details, Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega in his wife and co-president Rosario Moreo, have banned the ordination of priests and deacons in four dioceses in Nicaragua whose bishops remain in exile. The measure exacerbates a pastoral crisis already marked by years of religious persecution, all the vocations continue. The four dioceses without a bishop present in the country are Hino Tega, Suena, Matagalpa

6:17and Esteli. Bishop Carlos Herrera of Hino Tega, president of the bishops conference, was expelled in November 2024. After criticizing a mayor aligned with the regime, it interfered with a mass Herrera was celebrated by blasting loud music outside. Months earlier in July of that year, Herrera had ordained a priest in seven deacons in the neighboring diocese of Matagalpa, whose bishop Rolando Alvarez, after spending 18 months in detention, was deported to Rome by the regime in January 2024. This ordination represented eight liturgical oasis for the church, in the words of Martha Patricia Molina, author of the port, Nicaragua, a persecuted church. It occurred six months after Bishop Alvarez, who was also apostolic administrator of Esteli and Bishop Isidora Mora of Suena, were deported by the dictatorship. ACI, president of the Spanish language sister service of EWTN News, spoke with three Nicaraguan priests in exile, who requested anonymity for fear of reprisals from the regime.

7:19The government is the one affecting the ordinations, and besides the ordinations, there are many other things, like a little more surveillance of the priests, said one of the clergy. He pointed out that the police are the ones enforcing all of this, and attributed the ban in Matagalpa to the dictatorships hatred of Bishop Rolando. The same priest charged that the regime seeks to supplant the bishops, and that some clergy don't put up a fight to avoid making their lives more difficult, with the idea of saving their dioceses, but in the end they are surrendering their mandate to whatever the government says. The priest noted that Matagalpa is probably the most affected diocese, with at least 32 of its priests outside the country. Especially in dioceses, without a bishop, surveillance is even more extreme to prevent a bishop from another diocese from coming, for some liturgical event, the second priest contacted by ACI-Prensa stated. According to this priest, there are currently about seven candidates for the priesthood in Suena, who completed their studies in 2025, plus another group that finished in 2024, and both groups are still waiting to be ordained.

8:19Despite this situation, the phenomenon does not seem to have affected new admissions to the seminary. There are those who are keeping the faith it looks like, among the seminarians, maybe hoping that there will be some relief coming from heaven on this, that maybe who knows, that may be the president, the president, El Presidente, and his wife will have a radical conversion of heart, or maybe God will use some other means to free the church in Nicaragua from that. It's worth noting as Catholic rena says, that Ortega has waged war against Catholics over the last few years, alongside his wife Rosaria, who is nicknamed the witch for her practitioner of the dark arts, just to give you an idea of the kind of people we are dealing with. That is a concern that nobody in the church, among the bishops, seems to be taking all that seriously. Instead, I have another unfortunate update for you from the church in America.

9:25Last few days, we've had our attention turned on some of the more crazy stories coming from Rome, Papal Pacamamas, and all the rest of that stuff, but right when that was happening, bishops in the United States decided once again to issue some cring-inducing political statements. In addition to the usual stuff, for example, Pope Leo just gave an address calling for countries in the West that don't have universal health care to implement universal health care programs. I don't know what that's got to do with the gospel. The only country in the Western world that isn't a Latin American country that doesn't have a universal health care program is, of course, the United States. Take that to mean what you will, I think, fits him trying to push Catholics in a certain political direction. But, of course, on top of that, you've got the usual nonsense coming from the U.S. bishops. We have a couple of bishops who decided that it was time, once again, to invoke the gospel

10:26and defense of the Democratic Party's position on immigration. Rich Reho, who is a weirdly deep connections to American bishops in the Holy See for a Catholic high school teacher, seriously, I'm not joking about that, posted on X. In pastoral letter released today, El Paso's bishops' seats denounces mass detention and mass deportation, calling both a grave moral evil. Seats goes to say that, quote, no one has to bathe in a moral order. He's telling Catholics who work for immigration to disobey lawful orders given by the President of the United States. Amazing. Not surprising. Here's the details from this, and I'll have the full text for his address, because I have it, I'm not going to read the whole thing, but I have the full text if you want to read it for yourself, and I'll post it on the Anthony Stein sub-stack, not terribly long after this livestream is over.

11:26But we can go here to Catholic World Reports coverage of this story, because, well, it gets worse now, because he's now essentially basically making it sound like open borders policy would be in keeping with the gospel. Pretty amazing stuff. The headline, bishops' seats issues first pastoral letter on mass detention and deportations. The bishops of El Paso, Texas, called on immigration enforcement officers to follow the gospel rather than a moral order. The bishops released the first pastoral letter on mass detention and deportations. The quote, current national campaign of mass detention and deportation is grave moral evil, one which must be opposed with prayer, peaceful action, and acts of solidarity with those affected he wrote. The diocese of El Paso will hold a vigil on March 24th to plead for respect for human life, seats announced in the letter, invited the faithful to march and pray with him, an auxiliary

This holy season of Lent God invites us to journey with the suffering Jesus to the cross and to the new life and the resurrection he wrote. 13:28we couldn't really believe the idea that Rome, that the Cardinals would elect a Pope who's for the entire purpose of standing up to the big bad orange man in Washington, DC, you know, because he'll be gone in four years, two years from now, two and a half years from now, there will be another president elected. And it seems extremely short-sighted to elect a Pope who might be on the throne of Peter for 15 to 20 years. With the sole purpose of opposing an American president who in three years will be giving his farewell address and a new president to either a Democrat or a Republican, we'll be following him. But let's look like they did because we have here confirmation. He says here, our Holy Father, Pope Leo IV, told me personally to stand in solidarity with suffering migrant families and not to remain silent. It was like that's confirmation of what was being said. And he's not the only one either.

14:29We got news out of New York that the new absolutely fabulous cardinal or soon to be cardinal archbishop of New York, archbishop Hicks gave a St. Patrick's Day address where he invoked St. Patrick and the Irish to argue for open borders. Here's an excerpt posted by a through and through Bergolyan journalist in Christopher Hale. 15:32our nets wider just as Christ asked us to do. That's a quote from the absolutely fabulous archbishop Ronald Hicks. And you know, I thought I'd seen everything because we're told to not see them as strangers, welcoming with respect and walking together in faith. And that's true. We know what the church also says about immigration, and immigrants are supposed to follow the laws of the home countries that they go to, that they're host countries when they show up in a place they're supposed to follow the laws, including the laws of entry. You're not seeing other people as brothers and sisters if you are breaking the laws of entry. You're not. It's as simple as that. Caesar has the right to defend the country and to send people back to where they came from if they do not show even the most basic respect. It's amazing stuff, but it's of course not the only thing because both bishops seats and I've hail and others are calling for a top to bottom, fundamental, comprehensive

16:34immigration reform that allows even more people to come in. I've seen them actually cite, for example, the bill that in 2024 was rejected by the Republican Senate. That bill would have allowed a lot of people to come in every year. It would have allowed a quarter million people who shelf at the border to just be allowed in legally, thus annihilating the process. You know, the actual American people right now, when you look at the polls from this, the polling data for regardless of whoever asks it, consistently comes back with one thing. You know what it is, that Americans really want this issue resolved completely. They don't like ICE actions, but they do not mind while having people gotten sent home. They really like that, but there's another part of it too, and that Americans in general want are tired of immigration, legal or otherwise, that we need a break from it as a country because we can all kind of sense that things are being fractured because of this, and you

17:39have the U.S. Conference of Democrat Bishops out there promoting the Democratic Party's line on this, and they need to stop with a question they need to stop. And I'm not the one saying that. Here we have from an outlet that I rarely ever use, the European Conservative had a conversation of Colonel Mueller on this. The headline is, top conservative Cardinal Blast's mass migration defends the rights of the United Nations. I got to remember Mueller, a moderate at best, Cardinal Blast, who is very sensible on most issues facing the Church these days, has a different perspective. He's not an American. He's a European. He's German. And they've got a different kind of immigration problem going on there. That is the key to understanding his issue here, but it's not just the U.S. Bishops talking like this. It's the hope. It's the European Bishops speaking the same way. They're all on the same page for wanting to essentially, well, bring about the prophecy

19:48observers inside and outside the church mistake the stances for those authentic Catholic belief and doctrine, elsewhere he has criticized an exaggerated understanding of people in fallibility, offering referred to as ultra-mountainism and as occult of personality, surrounding Pope Francis. Mueller condemns this error, quote, that says, every private meaning of the Pope is a dogma or is an interpretation of the reveal truth. Mueller says explicitly that while under very specific, rare, and limited circumstances, papal infallibility does exist for Catholics, this categorically does not extend to his private understanding about migrants and so forth. He has to defend the human rights of everybody he explained, but it is another question entirely whether there should come in 10 years, millions and millions of the serisins will call them, to change totally the culture and provoke civil wars, as happens in countries where they are the majority. He went further, it is impossible integration, if a big majority do not become Christian, in nearly all of their countries there is an oppression of Christian communities he continued.

20:53When I ask chat GPT and AI, it says the people of that religion are tolerant. The next question I ask is, can you tell me one majority country of theirs where Christians have the same rights and they can say nothing? There is no good answer, he said, in this question is the responsibility of the politicians and the citizens of the countries to decide if they want to be marginalized in their own country. And he goes on, saying it is our own fault, because politicians in those countries cite the lack of births. In the US we saw Chuck Schumer do it, got up on TV and said, this is the fault of people not having babies while he himself has been a vocal and strident promoter of the sacrifice to Molok in a secularism, see it in Europe. A lot of the politicians there say, look we are aging out, we don't have enough people, we need people to make our economy run so we can all retire and who cares about the future basically is what they have said. Mueller isn't having anything to do with this, and good on him for that, go on this issue

21:56at least. Unfortunately, the Pope and most bishops in the West are all on team unfettered immigration. I'm very curious what you think about this, and let's go back to the beginning, there's a lot of bad things being done by dictators right now across the world to Catholics, weird that they remain silent on this in various countries, and it's at focus on immigration.
