Developers Plan 250 Homes Near Bolton Hospital

0:00On April 1st, Ann Wall Homes just dropped plans to build 250 homes on nearly 10 hectares of Greenland right next to Royal Bolton, hospital north of Plotter Lane and Farnworth. The site sits between the hospital, Great Leaver, and the Farnworth Golf Club, with access straight off Plotter Lane. Locals back in January vow to fight these plans hard, sharing videos of wild deer roaming the fields. Right now, it's all agricultural grassland with hedgerows, mature trees, a couple ponds, and public footpaths weaving through. Developers say it'll blend right into the neighborhood south of the site, bringing much needed homes in a sustainable spot with little harm to the landscape. They highlight 35% affordable units, plus about 1.59 hectares of public open space, greens, and play areas. The design calls for a walkable setup with a tree line main road, loops for easy navigation, and green links so every homes close to open space. It mixes full plans for 164 homes, with outline approval sought for 86 more.
